The question now is does Broady have a plan B, does Raonic, do many players today have a plan B? Raonic doesn't need a plan B today but he might against tougher opposition.

For many it is to make plan A better, they don't have another game style they can go to and I think that is a challenge.

A few errors beginning to creep in for Liam Broady as he desperately tries to find a way back into this opening-round match.

The 24-year-old floats a forehand wide, but scrambles back to 30-30 as Raonic rattles the net.

    Wozniacki 6-0 6-3 Lepchenko

Second seed Caroline Wozniacki is comfortably into the second round.

It's taken her 59 minutes to breeze past Varvara Lepchenko and set up a meeting with Russia's Ekaterina Makarova.

A better day for Danish sport fans than yesterday...

The Milos Raonic steam train doesn't look like slowing down in the third, and potentially final, set.

The Canadian cruises into a 30-0 lead with a little jog to the net before a hammer blow of a half volley.

He holds with another untraceable ace.

    Broady 5-7 0-6 Raonic*

Milos Raonic only needs one. He bagels Liam Broady, and it's a long way back for the Wimbledon debutant.

Mammoth crosscourt forehand from Milos Raonic and that brings up two set points.

    *Broady 5-7 0-5 Raonic

Deft hands from the big man, Milos Raonic shows off his subtle side with a perfectly weighted drop shot that the scuttling Liam Broady can't reach.

The British number four slings a forehand into the net off the next point, before Raonic tugs a backhand high, wide and not at all troubling.

  11. Behind the baselinepublished at 15:41 British Summer Time 2 July 2018

Liam Broady is standing around two metres further behind the baseline to receive serve than Milos Raonic - that is the difference between facing a 135mph delivery and a 115mph.

And actually the Briton has just been served one at 142mph. He’ll be standing on a line judge soon!

  12. Raonic holdspublished at 15:40 British Summer Time 2 July 2018

    *Broady 5-7 0-5 Raonic

Broady isn't getting anywhere near that one, another stinger from Raonic, who almost takes out the ball girl with his next effort.

Broady's making a fist of this, though, he draws back to deuce, only for Raonic to crack a 140mph ace beyond the Brit and close out for a 5-0 lead in the second set.

    Broady 5-7 0-4 Raonic*

Approaching the hour-mark, and Milos Raonic pops a smart forehand volley beyond the encroaching Liam Broady, but the British number four rallies back for deuce.

Can he force a first break point of the match?

  14. 'Raonic dominant'published at 15:37 British Summer Time 2 July 2018

    Broady 5-7 0-4 Raonic*

It is amazing how quickly things change.

Raonic was average, hanging in with his serve. Then wins six games in a row. Raonic completely dominant.

    Broady 5-7 0-4 Raonic*

Oh dear, Milos Raonic presented Liam Broady with a backhand smash chance, but it comes off the wildcard's frame and darts into the crowd.

A double break for the Canadian.

  17. Coric trailing Medvedevpublished at 15:34 British Summer Time 2 July 2018

    Coric 6-7 (6-8) 2-6 0-0 Medvedev*

    Now then.

Borna Coric - the conquerer of Roger Federer in Halle and the 16th seed here - is in trouble against Daniil Medvedev, the Rusian who sent Stan Wawrinka packing last year.

Coric has converted just one of three break point opportunities and is facing an uphill battle to reach the second round. Follow that match here.

Broady does eke out a point, but the following backhand is wide and that hands Raonic two break point chances.

    *Broady 5-7 0-3 Raonic

This is in danger of getting away from Liam Broady, who can't muster enough power on his backhand to drag it over the net - 17 out of the last 20 points for Milos Raonic.

Make that 18, he flat bats a forehand right on to the fringes of the baseline. Power and precision - 0-30.
