It's just tidy tennis from Cam Norrie - it is what he does so well.

Nobody wants a double fault in a tie-break. Norrie leads 3-1.
What do you want even less than a double fault? Two double faults in a row. 4-1.
Norrie 6-0 6-6 Paire*
Benoit Paire goes up 1-0 on his serve, then returns Norrie's second serve into the net for 1-1.
The Brit then forces his opponent into the corner and comes forwards for a smash to make it 2-1.

Just seen that the heat rule is in effect - players can have a 10-minute break at the end of the second set for the women, and the third set for the men.

To give you an idea of what the New York humidity does to these player, Tim Henman has just said on Amazon Prime that Andy Murray lost almost 6lbs in his first-round match yesterday. He won in straight sets as well.
The conditions don't look any more pleasant today either.
And now these two have to a go to a tie-break. Just what you want.

Paire needed to shorten the rallies and he has consistently done that, even if he has passed a few times.
Just the difference in his work ethic between sets. You've taken something from the match and made it competitive.
*Norrie 6-0 5-6 Paire
That game pretty much sums up Benoit Paire's second set.
He kicks things off with a double fault, but later brings out a glorious serve and volley.
Ups and downs, but Paire gets his hold anyway.
Norrie 6-0 5-5 Paire*
Benoit Paire puts so much effort into his backhands that his whole head whips round with the impact. The Frenchman is a bit too forceful with one and it lands wide, putting Norrie 30-0 up.
The British number one wrong-foots his opponent with a backhand slice for 40-15 before Paire hits a forehand long to give Norrie his hold.
Paire was fighting, but it feels like the momentum is edging back Norrie's way.

That was a bit of a strange game by Paire. It was almost like he had mis-coordinated where the ball was coming. Then a double fault.
A bit of a mistake to let Cam Norrie back into the match.
*Norrie 6-0 4-5 Paire
A solid first serve saves the first break point for Paire.
But then the Frenchman's serve lets him down. A double fault means he squanders his chance to take the second set. We're back on serve.
Norrie 6-0 3-5 Paire*
Calm down everyone, Cam Norrie has two chances to break back.

Paire hit a no-look forehand volley. When Kyrgios does that you know that they are dialled in at that point. Suddenly Paire is into it.
Norrie 6-0 3-5 Paire*
Ok then.
It looked like this match could be over in record time in the first set, but Benoit Paire has well and truly bounced back.
He claims the break and will now serve for the second set.
*Norrie 6-0 3-4 Paire
Again Cam Norrie goes 0-30 down on his serve in what has become a much more even match than it was in the 18-minute first set.
Norrie claws one back, before Paire sets up two break points.

During the pause Paire sits down on a barrier, in the shade, then decides to have a chat with his coach on that side of the court.
Off-court coaching has been allowed at this year's US Open, although the rules are extremely woolly, hard to enforce and liable to be pushed.
But you're not supposed to speak to a coach during a break in play, like a changeover or toilet break, so umpire Carlos Bernardes was right to speak to Paire.
The new ruling has caused plenty of debate in the tennis world.
Britain's Andy Murray said he didn't "really understand" why a player can't be coached during a break, adding "it's going to be quite hard to police" the mid-match coaching.
Ivan Ljubicic, the former world number three and Roger Federer's coach, wasn't impressed either.

We are back under way. Like we say, hopefully the spectator recovers soon.
Paire closes out his hold.

Oh dear, someone in the crowd has been taken ill and needs some treatment. Anxious looks all round.
Not surprising in this stifling heat. Let's hope they recover quickly.
A lot of concern for the person who is lying down on the stand behind umpire Carlos Bernardes' chair.
Norrie 6-0 3-3 Paire*
Oh dear. It looks like someone is unwell in the crowd so play is paused while they get attention. Hopefully it's nothing serious. It's a very hot day in New York.
Benoit Paire, who has advantage on his serve, sits in the corner in the shade with his towel and then gets into a heated debate with the umpire seemingly because he wants to receive some coaching during the break.
Norrie 6-0 3-3 Paire*
Cam Norrie threatens this time as he gets 30-0 up on Benoit Paire's serve.
The Brit presents a perfect cocktail of massive baseline shots, delicately balanced with a backhand drop shot to claim a break point.
This is not the Benoit Paire of set one, though. He keeps his cool and hits a winning backhand.

Norrie was living on the edge there and a bit of scoreboard pressure for the first time.
Paire is now not allowing Cam to be where he is more comfortable on the baseline.
