Backed by a brilliant atmosphere, the players have been going for over three and a half hours after playing three successive tie-breaks.

    Who will edge this one?

    *Alcaraz 6-3 6-7 (6-8) 6-3 1-4 Jarry

Almost three and a half hours now these two have been entertaining Centre Court.

  4. Sabalenka gets another breakpublished at 17:01 British Summer Time 8 July 2023

    Blinkova 2-4 Sabalenka*

Aryna Sabalenka delivers the response she needed, hitting some big winners with some excellent ball striking and she finds herself with two break points.

She doesn't let it slip this time, taking advantage of Anna Blinkova losing her footing at 40-15 to sweep a forehand over to the other side of the court and seal the break.

    Tsitsipas 6-4 5-4 Djere*

It was in the 10th game of the first set that Stefanos Tsitsipas broke Laslo Djere to take the opener.

He now has a chance to do exactly that again here for a two-set lead.

The crowd, enjoying themselves and the tennis on show, break into a Mexican wave during the change of ends.

  6. Blinkova breaks backpublished at 16:57 British Summer Time 8 July 2023

    *Blinkova 2-3 Sabalenka

Aryna Sabalenka had started so strongly and was even on the verge of going a double break up but momentum swings Anna Blinkova's way as she breaks back.

Some really good tennis from Blinkova there, mixing up coming up to the net at the right time with staying deep to keep Sabalenka on her toes.

  7. Two break points saved as Alcaraz holdspublished at 16:57 British Summer Time 8 July 2023

    Alcaraz 6-3 6-7 (6-8) 6-3 1-3 Jarry*

Good body serve helps Alcaraz save the first of those break points and he forces the Jarry error to rescue the second too.

Indeed, the Spaniard wins four straight points to turn 15-40 into a desperately-needed hold.

    *Alcaraz 6-3 6-7 (6-8) 6-3 0-3 Jarry

Has Carlos Alcaraz given up on this set after his failure to break in that previous game?

Double fault followed by wild forehand brings up two points for a double break for Nicolas Jarry.

    Blinkova 1-3 Sabalenka*

    Sonia Oxley
    BBC Sport at Wimbledon

Anna Blinkova looks more than a little relieved to be finally on the scoreboard and the crowd make some noise for her as one-way traffic is not that fun to watch.

  10. Tsitsipas breaks backpublished at 16:52 British Summer Time 8 July 2023

    Tsitsipas 6-4 4-3 Djere*

What a fightback by Stefanos Tsitsipas!

From 3-1 down in the second set, the fifth seed comes roaring back with a break of serve, backing that up to edge ahead for the first time at 4-3 as he looks to take a big step towards the fourth round.

Disappointment for Laslo Djere, just when he thought he had a foothold in this.

  11. Jarry holdspublished at 16:52 British Summer Time 8 July 2023

    Alcaraz 6-3 6-7 (6-8) 6-3 0-3 Jarry*

Big, big hold from Nicolas Jarry, saving two break points in the process.

Are we going the distance? Looks that way after that lengthy game that featured six deuces.

  12. Postpublished at 16:51 British Summer Time 8 July 2023

    Blinkova 1-3 Sabalenka*

Not much has gone right for Anna Blinkova so far but she clenches her first as she nails her serve at 0-30 - she needs more of that to have any sort of chance in this.

A pinpoint forehand by Aryna Sabalenka gives her two break points, but Blinkova does really well under pressure to take the next three points but a wild swing brings it back to deuce again.

A rally then ends with Sabalenka sending a forehand long before Blinkova nails an ace to secure the hold and get herself up and running.

    Alcaraz 6-3 6-7 (6-8) 6-3 0-2 Jarry*

Carlos Alcaraz sinks to his haunches after challenging a Jarry forehand that looked long - but the replays show it clipped the line by the smallest possible margin.

Doesn't let it bother him for long, though, winning a brilliant volleyed exchange at the net that sees a diving Jarry hit the tape. Back to deuce in this marathon, vital, game.

  14. Another break-back point savedpublished at 16:48 British Summer Time 8 July 2023

    Alcaraz 6-3 6-7 (6-8) 6-3 0-2 Jarry*

Poorly-judged approach from Nicolas Jarry goes well long.

A second break-back point for Carlos Alcaraz - saved by an ace that sends chalk flying off the service line.

    Alcaraz 6-3 6-7 (6-8) 6-3 0-2 Jarry*

Nicolas Jarry saves the break point with an overhead smash that he greets with a primal roar.

But Carlos Alcaraz stays in the game helped by a hugely fortunate net cord as the ball hits the tape and drops just over onto Jarry's side of the court.

The grounded Chilean throws his racquet at it in half-hope and half-despair.

    *Blinkova 0-3 Sabalenka

Aryna Sabalenka backs up the break as she holds pretty comfortably, hitting some devastating shots that Anna Blinkova has no answer to.

So far, so good for the world number two.

Laslo Djere is ensuring Stefanos Tsitsipas must continue to play catch-up in this second set.

The 60th-ranked Serb goes close to securing a double break in the fifth game, creating two break points on the fifth seed's serve, but Tsitsipas holds firm to stay close by.

  18. Break point Alcarazpublished at 16:43 British Summer Time 8 July 2023

    Alcaraz 6-3 6-7 (6-8) 6-3 0-2 Jarry*

It's only a break if your hold your serve next game, though.

And Nicolas Jarry is in danger of failing to do that, taken to deuce from 40-15 after a couple of pretty wild shots. Then a backhand goes wide - more of a forced error that one, from a deep Alcaraz ball, and it's break-back point.

  19. Sabalenka gets the early breakpublished at 16:42 British Summer Time 8 July 2023

    Blinkova 0-2 Sabalenka*

    Aryna SabalenkaImage source, Getty Images

It was a bit of a slow start, but Aryna Sabalenka is into her groove now and she breezes to a swift break as Anna Blinkova is unable to take a point on her serve.

Blinkova will feel particularly aggrieved at putting a volley into the net at 0-15 as she had set up the point perfectly.

  20. Postpublished at 16:39 British Summer Time 8 July 2023

    *Blinkova 0-1 Sabalenka

Aryna Sabalenka won the toss and opted to serve first.

There's still a fair few empty seats and the second seed will be quite pleased with the lack of crowd right now as she loses the first two points but a couple of huge serves pulls her level at 30-30. Anna Blinkova then sends a return from another strong Sabalenka serve long before an ace seals the hold.
