Heptathlon - Event 5 long jump
Dame Denise Lewis
Sydney 2000 Olympic heptathlon gold medallist on BBC TV
Katarina Johnson-Thompson is sitting pretty. I can't overestimate how hard she has worked on being in the right headspace.
Being injury free has helped. She has been here before.
She has got her spring back and this is a key event.
Heptathlon - Event 5 long jump (09:05 BST)
Katarina Johnson-Thompson is on the edge of the track getting a pep talk with her coach. The chat ends with a confident high five.
I think she is ready.

Women's heptathlon
BBC Radio 5 Live
Journalist Ben Bloom speaking on BBC Radio 5 Live: "You are quite often only as strong as your weakest event in the heptathlon. I think the javelin is Johnson-Thompson's weakest event but the long jump is one that she needs to overcome too.
"She has no-scored in the long jump before. Let's hope that doesn't happen again, and she plays it safe to get one on the board before pushing more."

There's a lot of Belgium flags in the Stade du France crowd today.
Nafi Thiam is the two-time Olympic champion in this event and, like KJT, has had her own injury struggles in the past few years.
She missed last year's World Championships with an Achilles tendon problem, and only returned to competition in June this year.
It was some return as well - she won her third straight European Championship title with a Championship record points haul to boot.
Lots going on in Paris this morning, let's have a look at what's coming up in the next few hours:

European indoor long jump champion on BBC Radio 5 Live
It was such a joy to watch Kat [Johnson-Thompson] have such a good time and also everything come together on day one. This long jump is very important.
Kat and Nafi [Thiam] are both in a similar position. If one of them can pull away in the long jump that would be so significant.
It is a big deep breath for everybody. What [Johnson-Thompson] is doing, is putting herself in contention for a medal. She has had such bad luck in the Olympics before.
She is one of my training partners and I am just so proud.

Katarina Johnson-Thompson called her second global heptathlon triumph in Budapest last year "the best day of my life", having completed a remarkable turnaround in her career.
Following the maiden global success in 2019, Johnson-Thompson overcame a career-threatening Achilles rupture only to suffer injury heartbreak in the 200m at the Tokyo Olympics.
Last year, in the absence of the injured Thiam, she took world gold ahead of Hall to set herself up perfectly for the chance in Paris to at last claim an Olympic medal.

The big race has already taken place this morning - the little electric cars that collect the equipment have had a zoom up and down the track.
Women's heptathlon
BBC Radio 5 Live
Journalist Ben Bloom speaking on BBC Radio 5 Live: "She is in as good a place mentally and physically as she has been since she won the world title.
"So many times she has come into a competition on the back of disturbed build-up but it hasn't happened this time.
"She has shown exactly what peaking for the big stage is, when your body allows it."
Heptathlon - Event 5 long jump (09:05 BST)
Four events down. Three to go. Will Katarina Johnson-Thompson retain her lead?

So, heptathlon.
Four of the seven events happened yesterday - and after those, it's Britain's Katarina Johnson-Thompson who is top of the standings. She's 48 points in front of two-time defending champion Nafi Thiam, and 99 clear of Anna Hall in third.
This morning is the long jump - KJT is in the second group to go, along with Thiam and GB's Jade O'Dowda - and the javelin.
It concludes this evening at 19:25 BST, with the 800m.

Diving - men's 10m platform preliminaries
Team GB's Kyle Kothari will make his Olympic debut shortly when he takes to the 10m diving platform (from 09:00).
After a series of career-threatening injuries, Kothari feels like he has already won by getting to Paris.
He had an operation in 2019 for a ruptured left achilles, and then the same injury on the other foot in 2021 - six months before the last Games in Tokyo.
Kothari says he started exploring life outside of sport, but receiving an offer to work full-time made him realise he couldn’t leave the sport just yet.
"Especially when I knew if I could stay injury-free, I knew how good I could be.
"If I didn't give it a go, I'd be cheating myself later down the line."
Men's boulder and lead final
Shauna Coxsey
Former Team GB climber on BBC Radio 5 Live
Erin McNeice yesterday, absolutely stormer for her. She is having the time of her life at the moment and has so much potential and so much ahead of herself.
But before that, we have today's action. The atmosphere at the event is brilliant.
We have got a stellar line-up. Toby Roberts sitting in second position and Hamish McCarthur squeaking through in eighth.
Men's boulder and lead final
Erin McNeice gained plaudits yesterday for her brilliant performance in the women's boulder and lead, with fellow Britons Toby Roberts and Hamish McCarthur taking part in the men's final today.
Ahead of the event, which starts at 09:15 BST with the boulder section, here's what you need to look out for:

Jade Jones' bid for Olympic history ended in another early defeat in the taekwondo -57kg first round in Paris.
South Korea's Kim Yujin took gold in that event while Uzbekistan’s Ulugbek Rashitov defended his men's -68kg taekwondo title.
British diver Jack Laugher said he "let emotion get the better" of him as he missed out on the medals in the 3m springboard final.
The Netherlands won their first men's hockey Olympic gold medal in 24 years by beating Germany on penalties in a thrilling final.
And Morocco won bronze in the Olympic men's football with a thumping 6-0 victory over Egypt.
Men's boulder and lead final
Shauna Coxsey
Former Team GB climber on BBC Radio 5 Live
I competed in Tokyo and the enormity of the pressure at that lead climb.
They have never tried the route they climb on and you get one attempt. The focus that they have.
It's all go, all focus. Toby Roberts is someone who can fight harder than anyone I have ever seen. He wanted to be in that final and did just that.
This line-up is crazy strong.
Men's boulder and lead final
We're under an hour away from Great Britain's Hamish McArthur and Toby Roberts taking on the men's boulder and lead final.
For McArthur, it was a huge success qualifying for the final wheres Roberts may have eyes on a medal.
