Great Britain took another medal at the velodrome on day 13 of the Olympic Games.

Team GB's Emma Finucane took bronze in the women's keirin to win what she described as a "surreal" second medal of the Paris Olympics.

Katy Marchant, who like Finucane was part of the team sprint gold-winning team earlier this week, came fourth.

There was disappointment for fellow Briton Ethan Hayter as he finished out of the medals in the men's omnium, coming eighth in a four-race event won by France's Benjamin Thomas.

In the day's other action at the velodrome, Britain's Jack Carlin qualified for the semi-finals of the men's sprint but Hamish Turnbull was eliminated.

Big day ahead at the Stade de France for Katarina Johnson-Thompson as she goes for her first-ever Olympic medal in the women’s heptathlon. Just three events to go, starting with the long jump, then the javelin and finishing with the 800m.

It’s also a busy morning for the stadium workforce. After the in-field has been watered, the track has to be dried. So, a Paris 2024 volunteer with a giant roller is valiantly doing sprints up and down the 100m straight. I think he’d be in the medals if this were part of this morning’s competition. The track is looking pristine though so well done to him.

Is finding your drink difficult?published at 08:00 British Summer Time 9 August

There are challenges in trying to find your feeder and drink, that in itself can be a challenge, especially when there are lots of swimmers as well. Swimming upstream to it as well is difficult.

You roughly know before the race where they will be and you just have to watch out for your flag. Because of the amount of drift, if you miss it, it is almost impossible to come back.

"No matter what happens, this 4x100m team can handle everything. I've been with them in practice, I know they can come out with a win, break as many records as they put their mind to."

The refuelling system in this event is a bit mad.

As they come round to the pontoon just after the timing beam, the swimmers have to spot a bottle on the end of a long stick, try to grab it mid stroke, pour it into their mouths and then deposit the bottle in a little box on a paddle board.

And that is after 4.8km of swimming in the Seine.
