How will Cindy Ngamba respond? She ended the first round strong and needs to start the second in that fashion with some front foot pressure.

Tammara Thibeault is struggling with the pace.

Ngamba takes the second round 3-2 on the judges' scorecards.

It all hangs on the final round!

    Boxing - women's 75kg preliminary - round of 16 - Tammara Thibeault v Cindy Ngamba

We thought Cindy Ngamba would be on our team [Team GB] for Paris right now, if she stays an amateur she would be on our team in LA [2028 Olympics].

Providing she can get a passport, the problems being pure bureaucracy - everybody involved the home office, immigration department and GB boxing they all know this is a huge claim - it goes back 14 years since she settled in Bolton.

GB boxing authorities have put some pressure on the Home Office.

Cindy is getting slightly picked off at the moment by Tammara Thibeault.

The only way Cindy wins is by making this fight messy.

    Boxing - women's 75kg preliminary - round of 16 - Tammara Thibeault v Cindy Ngamba

We are under way with this contest between two of the strong favourites for a medal - Canada's Tammara Thibeault and Cindy Ngamba of the Refugee Olympic Team.

Ngamba eats a cross left hook and takes a standing count but the fighter, who lives in Bolton and trains with Team GB, recovers quickly and is working nicely on the inside.

Canada's Thibeault is the much taller fighter and keen to stay behind the jab.

Round one goes to Thibeault with four of the five judges scoring in her favour.

  10. What's in the Olympic medal winners' cardboard box?published at 16:16 British Summer Time 31 July

Cartoon version of ParisImage source, Getty Images

If you've been watching the Olympics, many of the world's top athletes have made a great start to the Games so far.

We've been keeping an eye on the medal ceremonies for the bling, of course, but have you noticed when athletes have a medal hung around their necks, they are handed something else too?

It's a long cardboard box with no markings on it...

So what is it? Well, it's a very special Paris-themed poster.

When you open the box and unfurl the poster, it shows a cartoon version of Paris, with a picture of a big red Eiffel Tower and Paris' main river, the Seine, surrounded by sports taking place.

It also has the words XXXIII Olympiade referencing the fact that Paris 2024 is the 33rd edition of the Games.

Designed by illustrator Ugo Gattoni, the aim of the artwork is to show the full story of the Paris 2024 games.

Athletes also get a plush version of this summer's mascot as a cuddly toy, and don't forget the medals themselves which include tiny pieces of Eiffel Tower.

Maybe I'm getting ahead of myself as the track and field doesn't start for a bit......but surely pole vaulting is the hardest sport to just pick up. Speed, strength, technique and a complete lack of fear, I would fail on 3 of 4 needed attributes.

    Tom in Nottingham

Hardest sport of this Olympics has to be surfing. It's taking place on one of the scariest waves in the world. It's incredibly dangerous even for the most experienced surfers. For your average Olympian it would almost certainly be deadly, let alone an average person.

    Mark, Leeds

I think I could have a go at any of the sports, I wouldn't be any good but I'd have a go. Except the rings / high bars - I can't hold up my own body weight. Also wouldn't fancy water polo, I'd slowly drown.

It is the last round of group matches in the women's football competition. There are 12 teams, in three groups of four and four of those sides will be eliminated with eight moving into the quarter-finals.

World champions Spain will top Group C if they avoid defeat against Brazil, who will qualify with a win, while in the other Group C match, Japan take on Nigeria.

Those two matches started at 16:00 BST, before the two Group B games - Zambia v Germany and Australia v United States at 18:00 BST. The US, managed by ex-Chelsea boss Emma Hayes, have won both of their games in the group.

Earlier today it was announced Canada's women's team have lost their appeal against a six-point deduction at the Paris Olympics after a drone was used to spy on rival team New Zealand's training session.

However, Canada have won both of their matches so far and can still qualify, but need to defeat Colombia to have a chance of doing so in a game that kicks off at 20:00. Hosts France are second in the group and need a positive result over New Zealand to qualify.

The only time Great Britain have won a medal in this event was in 2016 where Max Whitlock took bronze.

Can Jake Jarman or Joe Fraser change this?

They qualified fifth and sixth respectively and will be going round in a group of six with the medal favourites.

There are 24 gymnasts in the final, they all compete on all six apparatus (vault, pommel horse, rings, pommel horse, floor and high bar) with the scores added together for a final total.

Japan's Daiki Hashimoto is the defending champion but was below bar in qualifying. But he comes into this fresh from a gold medal in the team event on Monday.

Team GB's Alex Yee speaking to BBC TV after collecting his men's triathlon gold medal earlier: "I don't really know what to say. I guess this [individual gold] is what I have been working towards for the last three years. I never expected to be here growing up as a kid and just enjoying my sport and doing what I was doing.

"I'm a bit in shock really that it is me that is doing this, winning gold. I am just so grateful for the hundreds of people that have been behind me helping me, all the way since I was a child, youth athlete, and then to now.

"If I chopped up this medal and gave a piece to all the people who have helped me get here then there would be none left for me. I am so lucky to be able to be the person to do this amazing sport, this amazing race, and what a venue too."

On the legacy of triathlon with Team GB: " I am so proud to be part of that legacy now, started by the Brownlee brothers initially, and then carried on by our incredible women that we have in the sport as well. We are really looking to be almost world leading in the sport. I am lucky to be a part of it and hopefully someday someone will watch that race and decide to give it a go and be just like me one day."

The Team GB boxing squad is almost completely depleted with just one of six remaining.

Chantelle Reid was beaten by Morocco's Khadija Mardi this morning so Lewis Richardson is the last hope.

Richardson faces Vakhid Abbasov in a men's 71kg round of 16 contest at 19:48 BST.

Cindy Ngamba represents the Refugee Olympic Team at 16:04 BST in a 75kg bout against Canada's Tammara Thibeault.

Ngamba was born in Cameroon but moved to England aged 10 and currently resides in Bolton.

The 25-year-old is a national amateur champion in three separate weight classes and trains with Team GB at their Sheffield base.

However, with her fight for a visa and UK citizenship still ongoing, Ngamba is unable to compete for Team GB.

Hardest sport? I'm going to put in a surprise vote for rowing. Tried it at uni and failed miserably at the complex combination of legs, arms, hips and head. Nowhere near as easy as it looks...

    Owen, Oxford

Haven’t seen anyone say diving yet. You’ve got to have the flexibility and athleticism of gymnastics but also the precision of hitting the water exactly right. I don’t know many people that could stand at the edge of the 10m platform, let alone hurl themselves off it!

Alex, getting zero work done today, London

The absolute toughest event by FAR has to be the triathlon - the distances those people cover are insane, they are living superhumans, and I am sure most of us would collapse if we even tried a quarter of what they do!

We've just had a history lesson on the big screen, which shows what men's gymnastics in the 1924 Paris Games looked like...

Like now, they competed on high bar, pommel horse, parallel bars, rings and vault... but there was no floor exercise - instead the event was rope climbing! A race to the top apparently.
