That is that, the competition is over and China take the gold medal with North Korea taking the silver.

What an achievement from Lois Toulson and Andrea Spendolini-Sirieix to earn Great Britain their third medal in the three diving events so far.

You can see exactly what it means to the GB girls as they secure Team GB's 14th medal of the Games.

Yes is the answer to that as they climb to the silver medal spot.

The good news is that Great Britain are currently occupying the bronze medal position.

The results from the women's triathlon have not yet been made official due to an ongoing protest.

Until a few moments ago it was unclear what that protest was about, or who it involved.

And it looks like it will remain that way.

An official communication just released says that a protest was announced to the head referee but not lodged, because the protester decided not to continue with it.

Therefore, the 'protest' tag on the results page will be removed - and our medallists, including Beth Potter, can all breathe a big sigh of relief (if they were even aware it was ongoing).

Well the lead group and what was the chasing group have completely merged now and Great Britain's Sam Dickinson is leading the way!

Alex Yee is down in 16th but only a second or two off his British team-mate.

Dickinson has just glanced behind to see where Yee is, he knows his team-mate is the more likely medallist - or at least that is what was expected ahead of this race.

That's exactly how GB will have wanted to end the third quarter - in the lead and in control.

While they have their final break of the match, the entertainers here tried to get a Mexican wave going in the crowd. But didn't say where to start it.

Cue bedlam as about three Mexican waves start simultaneously.

Interestingly I noticed Alex Yee getting a little bit frustrated, which is quite unusual for him going back and having a little chat with the group saying ’come on, you’ve got to work as well’.

At the moment he is, on paper, the strongest 10k runner in triathlon – he doesn’t mind coming down to run but he doesn’t want to end up in a huge pack of athletes which makes it difficult to navigate this course.

The chasing group are really closing in on the leaders now.

As they complete the fourth lap, the gap is only a few seconds. An already sizeable lead group is able to swell to 32 athletes.

Alex Yee is still among the leaders and suddenly his Team GB team-mate Sam Dickinson is not too far behind.

    WHAT A GOAL!

Great Britain take the lead through Hannah French, who controls a lofted pass beautifully before striking it past the South Africa keeper from close range.

You can tell in her celebration how much that means to her, and her team-mates.

Hardest Olympic sport has to be boxing. I don’t think any beginner would last a round. 10k swim also pretty brutal.

Surely gymnastics? I can run, swim, cycle, albeit at a slower pace these days, but triple summersaults on a narrow beam - I'd be in A&E!
