Fred gave a little clench of the fist after that first dive. He's pleased.

Team GB are going to dive first in every round here. Does that help? They can apply the pressure first, I guess.

Canoe Slalom for me, even people that have been canoeing/kayaking for years would struggle to get down the course, and the average person probably couldn't even get into one of the boats!

These guys have had a long 24 hours waiting to start. It's about who is going to hold their head and who isn't going to let this get to him. Great to see the sportsmanship of Alex Yee. The swim made a difference in the women's race so we will see what happens here.

GB captain Hollie Pearne-Webb hurries her team-mates in for the huddle for the two-minute break.

Head coach David Ralph is talking tactics, and Giselle Ansley looks particularly animated as they disperse for the second quarter.

Good morning from the Aquatics Centre. Team GB have two diving medals already in the bag. Does another come today?

Lois Toulson and Andrea Spendolini-Sirieix come into this as world medallists.

I can confirm Andrea's father Fred, the chef and TV celeb, is poolside. He's told me he's calm. He just about convinced me.

It's day two of the team and individual Grand Prix dressage and by the end of the day, we will find out which 18 riders and 10 teams have qualified for the individual final.

Becky Moody is already there after winning her qualifying group on Tuesday but Carl Hester will have to wait to see if he goes through as one of the best runners-up.

GB’s current individual and special world champion Lottie Fry was out early on Wednesday on Glamourdale and scored an impressive 78.913.

Qualification is still ongoing but Fry is in a strong position to go through.

We've already had success for Great Britain in the women's triathlon this morning. A bronze medal for Beth Potter. What can Alex Yee do in the men's triathlon? This of course was supposed to take place yesterday morning.

    Away they go!

The sun is shining now in Paris. That should help to improve conditions for the cycling leg. But first is that 1500m swim in the River Seine.

Alex Yee, a silver medallist in Tokyo three years ago, is Great Britain's best medal hope again. Can he turn silver into gold this time around?

Right then, ready to do it all again?

Obviously, yesterday's postponement was far from ideal, not least for the athletes, BUT it has given us an epic morning of back-to-back Olympic triathlon races.

The dust has barely settled following a brilliant women's race but here come the men now, ready to make their bid for gold.

And here is Alex Yee, who will have his eyes firmly fixed on gold.

Olympic triathlon distances and coursepublished at 09:45 British Summer Time 31 July

A reminder of a few key details if you missed the women's race earlier...

The men's and women's individual events are contested as straight medal races, timed continuously with transition areas for clothing and equipment changes following the swim and cycle legs.

The Olympic triathlon distances for both men and women are as follows:

    • 1500m swim
    • 40km cycle
    • 10km run

Competitors start from the Pont Alexandre III bridge in view of the Eiffel Tower, swim 1,500m in the Seine then run up a set of steps to start the 40km bike course, which includes some cobbled stretches. Lastly, there is a 10km run.

After all the drama of the women's triathlon earlier, where a strong current made the swim a big struggle before slippery cobbles led to numerous crashes on the bike leg, it's almost time for the men to take on the same course.

Of course, the men's triathlon was meant to take place yesterday morning but the water quality was not deemed good enough.

However, results from the latest water analyses, received at 03:20 on Wednesday, were declared compliant by World Triathlon.

They're just about ready to go now and you can watch live on BBC One and iPlayer.

South Africa didn't win a single match at the Tokyo Olympics. They will be hoping they can hold on here.

Here is the moment that Beth Potter won Team GB's first medal of the day.

GB - who remember have reached the podium at the last three Games, including THAT gold in Rio eight years ago - have named an unchanged starting line-up from their first two matches against Spain and Australia.

Unlike in those matches, GB are playing in white tops today, with navy shorts/skorts and socks.

There are Union Jacks aplenty in the crowd - loads of Team GB support here today.

'It was a great race'published at 09:33 British Summer Time 31 July

    Women's triathlon

Georgia Taylor-Brown speaking to BBC TV after coming sixth for Team GB in the women's triathlon: "The girls were amazing, I was happy to make the front pack and that was where I needed to be and then we went on the run and I had nothing in me and they were just amazing, super fast today. Hats off to all of them, it was a great race."

On the current during swimming: "The swim was horrible. On the way back on, under the bridge, that was not fun. That was really, really hard. You don't really think about it at the time when you are in the race, you just kind of batter on through and get it done."
