They will definitely get to race for a medal. We'll have to wait and see what colour.

You know it's a big deal when you get the matching t-shirts printed.

But then again, it's not every day your oldest daughter becomes an Olympian.

Rory and Susie Finucane have hired a camper van and driven the whole family over from Carmarthen to Paris.

All worth it, as they're now watching Emma compete at an Olympic Games.

Two of Great Britain's greatest Olympic cyclists have backed Emma Finucane to win up to three gold medals at the Paris Games.

Sir Chris Hoy and Laura Kenny won 13 Olympic medals between them - 11 golds and two silvers - during glittering careers.

“The one star you’ve got to keep an eye out for is Emma Finucane," Hoy, who won seven golds and a silver, told the BBC.

“She burst on to the scene at the World Championships last year, she won the women’s sprint.

"Team GB are favourites for the team sprint in Paris and she could even win the women’s keirin. She could be a triple Olympic champion and it’s her first Olympics.

Kenny, who won six golds and a silver, says Finucane "is just unreal at the minute".

"I keep saying it and then I keep I keep thinking ‘don't say it because you just put pressure on her’, but honestly she could be the first female to win three gold medals at a single Olympics, and she's only 21," Kenny added.

It is rare for there to be so much anticipation for a 21-year-old’s Olympic debut.

But Emma Finucane is no ordinary 21-year-old.

The track cyclist is already world champion in the women’s sprint. The youngest British woman to win it - and only the third after Victoria Pendleton and Becky James.

They went on to do special things at the Olympics - and, as the track cycling programme begins in Paris, hopes are high for Finucane.

Over the next seven days she is targeting the women’s team sprint, the individual sprint and the keirin. Three events; three Olympic golds up for grabs.

So how has she arrived in Paris as one of Team GB’s ones to watch?

It was seriously impressive from Great Britain in the qualifying round.

A world record, of course, although they were behind New Zealand's time after two of their three laps.

That's when Emma Finucane took over and posted the fastest final lap of the day to secure that world record - and leapfrog New Zealand.

That is why the 21-year-old is so highly rated.

The sailing programme continued to suffer with the Marseille conditions on Monday, with the men's and mixed dinghy failing to stage a race and the women's dinghy and both events in the kite also losing races from the day's schedule.

    • GB's Hannah Snellgrove finished 32nd in the day's only race in the women's dinghy. She sits in 12th in the standings and will not progress to the 10-boat medal race.
    • However with today's races cancelled, compatriot Michael Beckett moves forward to the medal race in the men's dinghy, sitting in fourth overall.
    • Eleanor Aldridge finished fourth in the one race women's kite race that did get underway, her worst result of her five outings so far, and currently sits second in the standings. Meanwhile Connor Bainbridge took fifth in his race and sits in fourth overall.
    • The mixed multihull managed to complete all three of its scheduled races, with GB's John Gimson and Anna Burnet recording a fifth and two fourths. They sit one place out of the medal positions in the standings.
    • The mixed dinghy will resume its programme tomorrow, with GB's Vita Heathcote and Chris Grube 11th overall.

Great Britain have a chance of winning a medal tonight in the women's team sprint. It's been the strongest chance they have had ever.

There's one quarter left for Great Britain to try and keep themselves in this Olympic Games.

They've defended valiantly, seeing off shot after shot from the Dutch, who shot high and wide and at everywhere, really, but the back of the net.

Another 15 minutes and that could be it for GB's hockey hopes in Paris.

Joe Clarke won the silver in the kayak cross, and spoke to BBC Sport on whether everything went according to plan: "Absolutely not. You’ve seen Noah Hegge from Germany came straight into my lane so I couldn’t get the great starts I’ve been having through all the rounds. A bit bittersweet in some ways but if you asked me in five minutes, I wouldn’t be at all.

"I came here for gold. I’ve got silver, which I’ve very proud of. What a Games.

"I was catching Finn [Butcher] from New Zealand up but I was making the decision on the last up-shoot and try and take gold. We’d seen Kimberley [Woods] in the previous round do that and lose her position and I thought I’d try and set up a silver and get that.

"I came here as a bit of redemption for missing Tokyo and I’ve certainly put that to bed. I owe it all to my family and my wife especially."

    Women's kayak cross final

Team GB's Kimberley Woods speaking to BBC after winning bronze in the Women's kayak cross final: "It is a little bit bittersweet because I was trying to go for that gold and I felt like I was in a really strong place. But to come away with two bronze medals, no one has ever done that before, especially in Britain, so I am really proud of myself.

"I was present throughout every single run, the crowd were amazing, and then having Joe [Clarke] run down straight after and win a medal too was amazing. I am just so proud of myself and so proud of the team."

On her mental health journey: "Everyone knows about my mental health journey. Now thankfully I can use this platform for whatever I want to use it for. Hopefully people will now go and listen to my story and go and get the help that they need.

"It is all thanks to my team behind me, Team GB, National Lottery, everyone here in the crowd, you guys behind the screens... This is what we do it for. To help to inspire as many people as we can at home."
