Hosts France are guaranteed another medal after reaching the final of the men's 3x3 basketball competition.

The French squad of Lucas Dussoulier, Timothe Vergiat, Jules Rambaut and Franck Seguela won 21-14 in their semi-final against Latvia and will now play the Netherlands in the final later this evening.

On the women's side, Spain will face Germany in the final after beating reigning champions the United States 18-16, while Germany defeated Canada 16-15 in the other semi-final.

Spain pulled off a stunning win over the Americans after trailing for most of the game, forcing their opponents into numerous fouls and finally winning in extra time on their sixth free throw.

Sonja Greinacher was scintillating for Germany in a back-and-forth game against the Canadians, delivering 11 points and five rebounds.

Dina Asher-Smith gets a really good bend, she knows Gabby Thomas is going to come back with the long stride and the 400m endurance, which she does.

She starts to tense off a little bit on the home stretch and then loosens off when she knows she is in one of the top two spots.

It was a little bit concerning for Dina. She walked past the interview stand [down on track side] and didn't look very happy. it may be an indication of how she is feeling at the moment about her condition.

    Men's football - France 0-0 Egypt

Egypt had a slow start to their men's football tournament, drawing 0-0 with the Dominican Republic.

However, their fortunes would improve - after defeating Uzbekistan they pulled off an impressive 2-1 victory over Spain to top Group D, then won their quarter-final against Paraguay on penalties.

They go into their semi-final with France as underdogs, but having beaten a Spain side that featured many La Liga prospects they'll fancy themselves to pull off another shock.

Brittany Brown wanted to win that semi-final, really wanted to get a good lane so she put the burners on again and Daryll Neita didn't have any sort of reaction.

Neita looked really comfortable in second.

She is going to have to go quicker in the final if she wants to win a medal. Something under 22 seconds I think.

American McKenzie Long and Jessika Gbai of the Ivory Coast have their places in the final confirmed.

They both came third in their respective semi-finals but posted the quickest times of any athletes to finish outside of the top two.

Long's time of 22.30 seconds was actually 0.01 seconds quicker than Dina Asher-Smith, who took second in her semi.

Essentially this is the hip, street version of the sport made world famous by NBA.

So, as the name suggests, it is three players on each team and they compete on a half-sized court with one hoop.

A DJ plays non-stop music throughout with a hype man on the mic.

A team needs 21 points to win. If neither team have reached that total after 10 minutes, the team which is ahead wins.

Here is tonight's plan (all in BST):

20:00: Canada v United States - women's bronze medal game

    20:30: Latvia v Lithuania - men's bronze medal game

    21:00: Germany v Spain - women's gold medal game

    21:30: France v Netherlands - men's gold medal game

That's two British women in the 200m final in Paris!

Both Dina Asher-Smith and Daryll Neita will aim to become the first British woman to make an Olympic sprint podium for 64 years, since Dorothy Hyman in 1960, in the final tomorrow.

Neita finished just four-hundredths of a second off the 100m podium on Saturday. Another solid performance there in her semi-final suggests she'll be right in the medal mix in that final too.

Another Team GB-USA scrap and it's the same result.

American Brittany Brown grimaces down the home straight and does just enough to edge out Daryll Neita.

    Just 0.12 seconds the difference.

They are both through to the final.

I understand why Mondo Duplantis took the decision to skip 5.80 because he just made that next step up look so easy. So much space between him and the bar again.

The only way to describe him is ridiculous. There are plenty of men looking good in this competition but he is just absurdly good.

So far, so good for Armand 'Mondo' Duplantis, who is making light work of this pole vault final.

The defending champion from Sweden made the decision to skip the height of 5.80 metres, and he's easily cleared 5.85m.

A reminder that his world record jump is 6.24m, so he's got plenty left to give.

Thierry Henry's France side have breezed through the men's football tournament, winning all four of their games and scoring eight goals without reply.

The home side, captained by former Arsenal striker Alexandre Lacazette, defeated Argentina 1-0 in their quarter-final and go into their semi-final with Egypt as the hot favourite.

Their squad features plenty of exciting talent, including Crystal Palace forward Jean-Philippe Mateta, the Bayern Munich bound Michael Olise, Lyon's Rayan Cherki and Rennes' Desire Doue.

An emotional Dina Asher-Smith was left bitterly disappointed after missing out on the Olympic 100m final.

It will feel very good to get out there, execute her race, and secure her place in the 200m final.

A former world champion in that event, Asher-Smith looked strong as she held her own alongside gold medal favourite Gabby Thomas coming on to the home straight and qualifying comfortably.

She didn't hang about. A quick well done to American Thomas and she heads off the track.
