Cornish Pirates' Championship game at Ealing was abandoned following an injury to Pirates' Ben Grubb.

The forward was taken to hospital by the ambulance stationed at the ground and so there was not sufficient medical cover for the game to go on.

Ealing led 12-0 at the time, but as the game was only 58 minutes in the result will not stand and it will be replayed.

"He's moving and okay but don't know the extent just yet," said Pirates joint-head coach Gavin Cattle.

"The safety of the players is paramount," he added to BBC Radio Cornwall.

"With the scoreline at 12-0, it's not as if the game was out of sight and out of mind.

"Plus we were expecting a red card for an Ealing player there for a high shot which would have been us playing the last 20 minutes 15 v 14, so it'll be replayed."
