  1. 90 break puts Jones back within fourpublished at 14:58 British Summer Time 6 May

    Wilson 13-9 Jones

Jones needs the rest to pot both of those required runs but does so incredibly smoothly.

And he takes he penultimate red too, so the frame is in the bag. Pressure off and Jones clears up to and including the pink for a wonderful 90 break.

Jak Jones' break up to 39 but still a bit of work to do. The lead is 31 so he'll need two of the final four reds with colours.

    Stephen Hendry
Seven-time world champion on BBC Two

Jak probably can't believe he's back at the table so soon.

He would have gone back to his chair after missing the pink thinking that he had lost the frame but Kyren was not convincing - and it was an easy frame for him to win.

If that doesn't give Jak Jones a bit of hope, nothing will.

But Wilson can only make 17 from that glorious chance, finishing too low on a black and unable to cut it back in.

    Wilson 13-8 Jones

Big, big mistake from Jak Jones after potting that red.

He convinces himself a pink will go past a red to the corner but the TV pictures suggest it won't.

It would need to drop in off the far jaw at best - but Jones plays it far too hard for that to happen and now Kyren Wilson has an open table of reds and the black on its spot.

Bob: Kyren doing the snooker equivalent of that thing where you let someone get to the car door then you drive on a little further before they can get in.

  10. 'Each frame gets more and more difficult'published at 14:47 British Summer Time 6 May

    Steve Davis
Six-time world champion on BBC Two

Each frame, as you get closer and closer to the finishing line, seems to get more and more difficult to win.

Jak needs to know his opponent will start to see more and more problems, so don't panic would be my advice to him.

    Wilson 13-8 Jones

Jak Jones' contribution ends at 14 after failing to get on a red off the black to middle.

Big frame this, you feel - a six-frame gap would surely be too much for Jones to overhaul at this relatively late juncture of the match.

The Welshman inadvertently pots the pink in escaping a snooker - but Kyren Wilson responds with a very poor safety that has left an easy red over the left corner.

Matt Round: Today is a day for finding new ways to delay leaving the house til it's too late to bother and therefore watch snooker all day.

If they share the next four frames, I think the final is virtually over.

It will be interesting to see if Jak can win this mini-session.

The players are back out for these pivotal final four frames of the session in the 2024 World Championship final.

A safety battle ends with Kyren Wilson trying a shot-to-nothing but he collides with a red on the way back to baulk, handing Jak Jones the first post-interval opportunity.

  15. 'Some things you cannot buy'published at 14:35 British Summer Time 6 May

    Ken Doherty
1997 world champion speaking to BBC Radio 5 Live

Barry Hearn has done an amazing job with snooker when it was in the doldrums 10-12 years ago. He has increased the prize money from £3.5m when we only had six ranking tournaments to hopefully to £20m next year.

But some things you cannot buy. Some things have sanctity, history and heritage and nostalgia and the Crucible Theatre has that. I am not a businessman,I am a traditionalist.

I love the game, I love snooker and the images of the Crucible through the years, from Alex Higgins winning in 1982, Dennis Taylor, the Davis years, the Hendry years, Jimmy White, Ronnie O’Sullivan, all those iconic moments resonate with me and with every fan around the world.

You cannot sell our prized possession which is the World Championship

  16. 'I don't care about money'published at 14:32 British Summer Time 6 May

    Ken Doherty
1997 world champion speaking to BBC Radio 5 Live

This is our showcase event and I don’t care whether it only fits 980 people, if you built a place with 3,000 people it won’t have the same effect on people. You cannot sell the Augusta Masters, you cannot sell Wimbledon or Wembley, these are iconic sporting events.

Money and corporate hospitality should not be put in front of the real fans. It does not matter if only a select few can go in a ballot and come here and watch. Fans all around the world will watch this. They won't watch it if it is in Saudi Arabia or China.

This city [Sheffield] has supported snooker when it was not so popular and I think we have to support it back.

I don’t care about money. What does it say to the world of sport if we sell our prized asset because someone else has a fatter chequebook? It does not sit well with me. This is our snooker heritage - it should not be sold.

  17. The Crucible and 'Breakaway tour'published at 14:30 British Summer Time 6 May

Behind the scenes at Sheffield, there has been a lot of talk over the last fortnight about the possibility of the world championship moving from the Crucible,

Former world champion Ken Doherty has been speaking to BBC Radio 5 Live's Jamie Broughton about the hot topics...

  18. 'Huge expectation on Wilson'published at 14:27 British Summer Time 6 May

    Wilson 13-8 Jones

    Stephen Hendry
Seven-time world champion on BBC Two

There's pressure on Kyren, huge expectation.

You've got a five-frame lead overnight and you've got to stop yourself thinking that you just have to stand up to win the World Championship.

You still have to come out and perform.

George in Gloucestershire probably won't see this (see his earlier text) but anyhow...

Re George - This is a fantastic final by any metric, and it's even interesting of us enough to message about!

  20. 'Ship has been steadied'published at 14:23 British Summer Time 6 May

    Wilson 13-8 Jones

    Steve Davis

    The ship has been steadied.

Jak's had his chances but it's not easy to keep the pressure up all the time.

I imagine there will be a big sigh coming out of Kyren's dressing room.
