    That's the break.

After all the issues Jannik Sinner has had to deal with, he's fought back to level in this set.

Unforced errors from Daniil Medvedev at a crucial time has cost him dearly.

    *Alcaraz 2-3 Paul

Tommy Paul has a real swagger, with two hands on the racquet he earns another break point with a powerful backhand.

However, Carlos Alcaraz shows he can mix deftness with power as he plays delicious a drop shot from deep in the court to take it back to deuce.

Somebody in the crowd then shouted "out" as a rally was building steam between the pair and the umpire interjects, issues a warning to those in the stands at Court One and orders the point to be replayed.

It’s possible whatever he’s taken with the doctor it will get better as time goes on. Maybe physically he’ll start to improve.

Has Jannik Sinner willed himself back to 100%?

He's still using the drop shot liberally but he's moving so much better and holds to 15.

But Daniil Medvedev will now serve for the third set.

    Alcaraz 3-3 Paul

Carlos Alcaraz wipes his forehead with a chunky sweat band on his right wrist, then sets about his business.

Tommy Paul whacks a forehand into the net at 15-30 to allow the defending champion to get back on terms. However, the Spaniard is wide with a forehand to give Paul a break point.

The American is unable to capitalise. Deuce.

    *Sinner 7-6 (9-7) 4-6 3-5 Medvedev

Every so often, Jannik Sinner plays a point that makes you think he's back to normal and everything is fine.

There are a couple of points in particular in this game that should provide encouragement for the Italian and his supporters.

He seemed to be moving freely, striking the ball well from the baseline and moving into the net comfortably.

It's still not enough to force the break, though. Daniil Medvedev holds to 30 and Sinner will serve to stay in the set.

An instant break back to love from Tommy Paul as he coolly then walks over to his towel as if it was nothing.

The American reached the semi-finals at the Australian Open in 2023, losing to eventual winner Novak Djokovic, but apart from that run, he's never made it past the last 16 of a Slam before this tournament.

If there are any nerves for the American, he's doing a good job of hiding them.

Before his medical time-out, Jannik Sinner had been sticking close to his baseline and hitting big groundstrokes.

Now he's going for more dinky drop shots.

It seems like he's trying to keep the points as short as possible rather than going through those mammoth rallies we were enjoying earlier.

    Sinner 7-6 (9-7) 4-6 3-4 Medvedev*

Jannik Sinner serves and volleys a couple of times early in this game - it's clear he wants to make each point as short as he can.

He's dragged into a longer rally by Daniil Medvedev and the longer it goes, the more the Italian looks second favourite.

In an attempt to shorten another rally, he quickly goes to his drop shot but puts it into the net to take it to deuce.

The drop shot works nicely for Sinner next point, though, and again to secure the hold.

Tommy Paul spins his racquet in his hand, bobs on his feet like a boxer, as he waits deep behind the baseline to receive some ferocious serving from Carlos Alcaraz.

Paul has the answers, though. A brilliant forehand down the line gives him three break points.

Can he convert to get back on terms?

It's as if he's got something he really wants to watch later on tonight.

Anyone with a ticket for Court One will feel like they have won the lottery if this continues in this fashion. At the first changeover the fans pile in and we're pretty much at a full house already. You don't want to miss any of this one.
