Georgina (1624) - seriously? We've had years of this with Nadal and Federer - every time they get beaten, 'oh, it must be because they're ill.' So insulting to other players

I'm about 50 miles west of Wimbledon and the rain's started again here, obviously won't affect main courts but I think the other ones probably have about half an hour of play left today

We're waiting on the Brits to feature in the singles today, with Emma Raducanu and Sonay Kartal due to face Maria Sakkai and Coco Gauff respectively later this evening.

In the meantime, we've got eyes on the doubles and there's plenty of good news from a home hope perspective.

Brighton's Julian Cash and American partner Robert Galloway beat French-New Zealand pair Theo Arribage and Marcus Daniell 7-6 (8-6) 6-3 and have booked their spot in the second round.

It was also good news for Briton Henry Patten alongside Finland's Harri Heliovaara, beating all-Spanish duo Pedro Martinez and Jaume Munar 7-6 (7-5) 6-3 to reach round three.

In the women's doubles, Britain's Olivia Nicholls and Slovakian partner Tereza Mihalikova cruised to a 6-2 6-0 victory against American Peyton Stearns and Pole Magda Linette.

Last years Wimbledon semi-finalist and wife of Gael Monfils, Elina Svitolina, has been pretty motionless during this match but gave an encouraging clap of encouragement as he held serve at the start of the third set.

Long way back for the Frenchman here.

Murray gets a statue… and then Jack Draper wins a few slams, Emma Raducanu wins Wimbledon, a British youngster emerges and knocks Alcaraz/Sinner off the top spot in 2029…… there’d be statues all over the place! Perhaps just leave it with Fred.

Carlos Alcaraz is such a popular player. I'm not saying Frances Tiafoe is unpopular. I think Alcaraz has to got to use the crowd, down two sets to one.

I think he's got to bring a little bit more energy and intensity within his game and then feed off the crowd.
