Thousands of people attended the Taunton Flower Show on Friday and Saturday

While people have been stopping to smell the flowers at Taunton Flower Show, others have been enjoying summer days at the beach this week.

Elsewhere in the county, a Scandinavian crime drama was shot on Exmoor and there was silence at a North Somerset zoo.

Can't beat this: They've been partying on the shores of Chew Valley Lake this weekend at the Lake Paradiso festival. The event carries on into Sunday with Huey Morgan, NYC Block Party and many more acts.

Going underground: Wild Wookey, the caving experience at Wookey Hole, has been named as one of the best attractions in the entire world in the Tripadvisor Travellers' Choice Awards.

All the colours: Taunton Flower Show opened its doors on Friday, with displays of all kinds. It is held in Vivary Park and is thought to be the oldest flower show in the country having been a fixture since 1831.

Unmoored: If you enjoy a bit of Scandi crime drama, look out for 'Unmoored', a new film shot largely in and around Simonsbath on Exmoor. It is a psychological thriller about a Swedish TV presenter fleeing to Exmoor with her dog - an adaptation of Hakan Nesser's novel 'The Living and the Dead in Winsford'.

At the seaside: With the summer holidays underway, seagulls were captured rummaging through peoples belongings on the beach in Weston-super-Mare.

Silence at the zoo: Emily, who works on the Carnivore section at Noah's Ark Zoo Farm in North Somerset, completed a sponsored silence during her 08:00 -17:00 BST shift on 30 July. The challenge was part of a fundraiser to support the zoo's Rescue Tiger Appeal.
