    Everton 0-0 Wolves

It has been a very bright start for Wolves and Matheus Cunha gets the ball on his right foot and looks to place his shot in the bottom corner. Jordan Pickford does superbly though, getting down to his left to get a vital hand to it and keep it out.

We can win this tonight - nothing to fear. Isak is just as good as Salah and we have quality in every department. Newcastle are going to surprise everyone tonight.

    Newcastle 0-0 Liverpool

Liverpool's first attack is a break from a Newcastle corner, Darwin Nunez motors into space down the left but he runs out of turf, much to the delight of the home fans.

Lewis Hall then does well again to slide in on Mo Salah and win the ball back. Intensity.

Man City could have had a early goal there for sure from Erling Haaland. Great transitional attack through Kevin de Bruyne, who else?

Wolves have a first chance of the match after Matheus Cunha's cross from the left is only partially cleared by Vitalii Mykolenko's header. It falls to Joao Gomes 25 yards out but he lashes it well wide.

It's been a really bright start for Newcastle, they are pressing hard and high and Jarell Quansah is looking a bit uncomfortable at right-back. Pep may have done his best to eliminate the full-back from the modern game but it still a tough role to play.

    Pat Nevin

Newcastle's Lewis Hall has got fabulous technique. He is playing against Mohamed Salah, but he is still going forward to attack. That's just the attitude of the young man.

  18. Postpublished at 19:34 Greenwich Mean Time 4 December 2024

    Southampton 0-0 Chelsea

Big, early save for Chelsea's Filip Jorgensen who gets down well to deny Joe Aribo from very close range.

A Southampton player was offside in the build-up though so it wouldn't have counted.

Here's a decent stat for you. Jorgensen makes his Premier League debut for Chelsea tonight, while Southampton’s Joe Lumley is making just his second appearance.

Excluding the first two games of a season, it's the first time both goalkeepers starting a Premier League match have both made two or fewer appearances since March 2013, when Norwich’s Lee Camp and Wigan’s Joel Robles were making their second appearances.
