    Southampton continue to play the ball out from the back and once again it backfires.

    Keeper Joe Lumley is about 20 yards out when his pass is intercepted by Noni Madueke.

    The Chelsea forward latches on to the ball, plays in Christopher Nkunku, and the Frenchman taps into an open net.

    Forest keep switching from a back five to a back four and they are making it difficult for City to play those passes through the lines. They are showing gaps though even in that back five, and City are playing well on the ball and just need to keep plugging away.

    Almost a second goal for Manchester City. Bernardo Silva and Kevin de Bruyne play a one-two. Silva crosses and it's over Erling Haaland but not Josko Gvardiol, who heads wide.

    This is the only early kick-off without an early goal but that's a fine effort! Mo Salah does well on the right, his cross is blocked and Alexis Mac Allister controls a half volley superbly from 20 yards, it's arrowing in but Nick Pope makes a good save.

    Then, from the corner Mac Allister hits a shot off the far post!

    RE: Daniel. Newcastle away is a tough fixture for anyone so it's no surprise whatsoever if Liverpool drop points today. In fact, Liverpool's 9 point gap could evaporate very quickly indeed given their next 2 games after this one tonight are also away, and against Everton and Spurs. It's a long season...

    Liverpool have been strangely static. They've been caught absolutely asleep and Newcastle are unlucky not to take the lead here.

    This game is nicely poised. The energy levels of Newcastle is great and they've done well so far.

    Manchester City look in the mood tonight.

    There is a purpose about their play. Jack Grealish is carrying the ball into dangerous areas, Kevin de Bruyne is starting to play incisive passes and Erling Haaland is prowling in front of the Nottingham Forest goal.

    Bernardo Silva is one of the players who has dropped below his usual high standards during the recent run. That was his first Premier League goal since January.
