Tottenham manager Thomas Frank on the behaviour of Micky van de Ven and Djed Spence after Saturday's game: "Micky and Djed came into my office yesterday and just said they wanted to say sorry for the situation. They didn't want it to look bad or any misconception that you can get in this beautiful media world.

"So there was no disrespect meant at all towards me or the team. They were just frustrated with the performance from us and the booing during the game."

Spurs aren't performing well, but Man Utd aren't much better! Even though United are looking more dangerous in attack, they are still conceding far too many chances and easy goals. They still don't control games and on current form, we won't qualify for Europe.

  7. Home form a problem for Spurs?published at 13:55 GMT

    Tottenham Hotspur

The motto "To Dare is to Do" can clearly be seen on the hoardings surrounding the Tottenham pitch in that picture below, which could have a lot to do with the problem here.

Fans clearly do not believe Thomas Frank's side are showing enough daring for their liking.

And the results at home this season have certainly backed that up, with no wins in the Premier League since the opening day:

    • Tottenham 3-0 Burnley
    • Tottenham 0-1 Bournemouth
    • Tottenham 1-0 Villarreal (Champions League)
    • Tottenham 3-0 Doncaster (EFL Cup)
    • Tottenham 1-1 Wolves
    • Tottenham 1-2 Aston Villa
    • Tottenham 0-1 Chelsea
  8. Frank to speak on defenders' snub?published at 13:49 GMT

It was already a pretty sour mood inside the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Saturday.

Boos and contempt for an abject performance set the mood. Thomas Frank had plenty going on as it was.

But after full-time, a video showed defenders Djed Spence and Micky Van de Ven leaving the pitch. It appeared that Frank tried to ask them to stay and clap the fans, but both players walked past and appeared to ignore their manager.

Afterwards, Frank downplayed the incident, saying, "I think that is one of the small issues...I don't think it is a big problem".

It's bound to be a talking point at today's news conference. How will Frank feel about it, two days on?

  9. Boos ring out around Tottenham Stadiumpublished at 13:42 GMT

A video has been widely shared on social media of the boos ringing out during stoppage time at the end of Saturday's home defeat to Chelsea.

Frustration boiled over as Djed Spence failed to deliver the ball into the box, choosing instead to pass back to goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario, who also failed to find a Spurs player with his subsequent boot upfield.

Spence would later take centre stage again, when he and fellow defender Micky van de Ven seemingly snubbed manager Thomas Frank's pleas to go and applaud the home support.

So Tottenham fans, if you could pose a question for manager Thomas Frank, what would it be and why?

It is such a strange one. Spurs are fifth in the Premier League table after 10 games, one point outside the Champions League places and seven points behind leaders Arsenal.

    Last season they finished 17th.

Yet there are murmurings of discontent among supporters, largely as a result of their poor home form and lack of attacking cohesion.

The boos that rang around the stadium after Saturday's defeat to Chelsea were impossible to ignore.

  11. How bad was it for Spurs against Chelsea?published at 13:33 GMT

The attacking stats from Saturday's 1-0 defeat at home to Chelsea will not make comfortable viewing for anybody associated with Tottenham.

Thomas Frank's side managed just one shot on target during the whole 90 minutes.

This was, of course, a home game against one of their fiercest rivals.

Opta stats show that their total xG of 0.05 was their lowest on record in a Premier League game since the 2012-13 season, when xG was first recorded.

It was Spurs' 504th game in the competition since xG records began.

Tottenham v Copenhagen (Tue, 20:00 BST)

    Tottenham Hotspur

Right, let's make a quick change of focus from the title race to Tottenham and the Champions League.

Manager Thomas Frank is due to speak with the media this afternoon from 14:00 GMT to preview Tuesday's tie at home to FC Copenhagen.

The Danish boss might have been expecting lots of questions about any links he might have with Copenhagen, their staff and/or players.

However, he will more than likely have to first address the fall-out from Saturday's 1-0 home defeat to Chelsea.

  13. Recap: Is the Premier League title race alive?published at 13:25 GMT

We've had a busy few hours dissecting the weekend's Premier League action and where it leaves the title race.

Loads of reaction, analysis and views from you guys on the matter.

Here are some of the best bits we've covered:

  14. Can history repeat itself?published at 13:22 GMT

Manchester City lift the 2013-2014 Premier League titleImage source, Getty Images

Incidentally, the last team to come from six points back after 10 games to win the Premier League title was Manchester City in the 2013-14 season.

City had 19 points after 10 games. Leaders Arsenal had 25 points.

We will leave that with you...

  15. Are Man City slow starters under Pep?published at 13:18 GMT

Erling Haaland and Pep GuardiolaImage source, Getty Images

Manchester City appears to be the common denominator.

Pep Guardiola's side has won the Premier League title in six of the past eight seasons but have only twice gone on to win it when they topped the table after 10 games - in 2018-19 and 2017-18.

City also topped the table after 10 games in 2016-17 and 2015-16 but went on to finish fourth and third, respectively.

They have had more success under Guardiola when starting slowly, timing their run to the top of the table.

During City's run of four consecutive Premier League titles - between 2020-21 and 2023-24 - they were never top of the table after 10 games.

Posted it though haven't I, Mike.

It was just banter, my friend.

The team I am fond of will probably never ever face Spurs in the league so zero bias here.

We're going full Spurs shortly for Thomas Frank's news conference, too. Which we'll be streaming live on this page.

Ben with his little off hand comment about it being too far for Spurs just goes to fully highlight the bias towards particular teams, never said that about Bournemouth etc but Spurs is fair game to you media lot right! Poor! Although again you wont post so who will know.

  18. 25 points after 10 games no guarantee of successpublished at 13:11 GMT

Son Heung-min celebratesImage source, Getty Images

In three of the past four seasons, a team has led the Premier League with 25 points or more after 10 games but NOT gone on to win it:

    • 23-24 - Tottenham led with 26 points after 10 games but finished fifth, 25 points behind winners Manchester City
    • 22-23 - Arsenal led with 27 points but finished second, five points behind winners Manchester City
    • 21-22 - Chelsea led with 25 points but finished third, 19 points behind winners Manchester City

Can anyone spot a trend forming here?

  19. Mind the gap: Arsenal equal record lead after 10 gamespublished at 13:07 GMT

    Noel Sliney
    BBC Sport

Mikel Arteta insisted on the eve of the season that “the gold is going to be there” for his Arsenal side if they “keep digging”. He may well become the man with the Midas touch this season as the Gunners seek a first Premier League title since 2004 after three successive second-place finishes.

While there are 13 instances of teams earning more points at this stage of a Premier League season, Arsenal’s six-point lead after 10 matches is the joint biggest in the competition’s history. Liverpool had a similar advantage in 2019-20, going on to win the title.

This is Arsenal’s 109th top-flight season and they’ve made their fifth best start. However, history brings a note of caution – the Gunners only won the title in one of the four seasons when they had a better record after 10 games.
