BBC Radio Manchester's Joe McGrath says Manchester United are currently "giving with one hand and taking with the other" after fans experienced the highs of getting to the Europa League final followed by the lows of losing to West Ham in the Premier League.

Speaking on The Devils' Advocate podcast, McGrath said: "I think Ruben Amorim has brought the players down to such a level, with his way of speaking, that when they go up against a team like West Ham they can lose.

"If we got knocked out of the Europa League against Athletic Club and we played how we did against West Ham, I would have sacked him.

"This season has been a disgrace - six wins out of 24 and 17 defeat overall in the Premier League."

Here is a graphic showing how poor Man Utd have been in recent weeks in the Premier League. They are without a win in seven matches.

But, sandwiched between these substandard league showings have been impressive victories over Lyon and Athletic Club in the Europe League.

    It's not all bad!

  3. 'We can't lose another player to an injury'published at 18:41 British Summer Time 16 May

Aston Villa v Tottenham (19:30 BST)

    Tottenham Hotspur

Spurs will be without Dejan Kulusevski, James Maddison, Lucas Bergvall and Radu Dragusin for the Europa League final and Ange Postecoglou knows he can't risk losing any other players.

"The reality of our existence at the moment is we can't lose another player to an injury," Postecoglou said. "It's just too finely balanced for us considering what's at stake.

"Look, in a normal world you use this to be sharpening up, but we're not living in a normal world.

"Even with the best planning we're still getting hit with these setbacks. From my perspective I've got to take that into account when considering the [Aston Villa] game."

Dejan Kulusevski will be missing for Spurs tonight and he'll also be missing for the Europa League final. Just the news Ange Postecoglou didn't want.

The Spurs boss will now be without midfielders Kulusevski, James Maddison and Lucas Bergvall.

Just like their Europa League opponents Man Utd, tonight's priority will be not picking up any further injuries.

Chelsea v Man Utd (20:15 BST)

    Chelsea

Could Sunday's loss at Newcastle prove costly for Chelsea as far as landing a spot in the Champions League is concerned?

They'd won three on the bounce prior to that before a disappointing draw at home to Ipswich.

Each point is vital right now.
