    .

Tottenham have almost every player in West Ham's half as they push for the equaliser and the pressure is winning them plenty of corners - 11 already.

Those set pieces have all been wasted, however, and Spurs also need to be careful their high line doesn't get exposed again, with Mohammed Kudus (14) lurking for any quick ball forward for West Ham.

Almost. Pedro Porro unleashes one from range which takes a wicked deflection but West Ham keeper Alphonse Areola reacts superbly to get down to the bobbling ball.

He's straight up again to deny a Spurs runner any chance of getting to a rebound.

A heart-warming moment in North London as Tottenham supporters give Brazilian forward Richarlison a standing ovation as he goes out to stretch.

The striker might be needed as Spurs waste a host of chances in this North London derby match with West Ham.

Manager Ange Postecoglou is hopeful that they have got to the bottom of his injury problems and he is on the substitutes bench.

Love the food analogy, but as a pastry chef I have to nitpick. Croquembouche is a choux based dessert which definitely sums up Ange from what I’ve seen; as it’s German equivalent is translated, windbag. As for puff pastry, I would say that is more Chelsea. They are like Mille-feuille. Lots of layers, looks great but crumbles under any kind of press.

I expected Tottenham to keep the ball and create the majority of the chances in this match.

West Ham have been quite comfortable defensively. They've also caused Tottenham a couple of tricky moments and both of them have come from the right-hand side, where Jarrod Bowen has been brilliant.

Tottenham keep up the pressure as Dominic Solanke has a pop which dribbles just wide.

At the other end a Jarrod Bowen-corner goes over everyone's heads and straight out of play.

It comes off Brennan Johnson's shoulder.

Johnson gets it wrong in terms of his timing to the ball and it was a big chance.

    Should be 1-1!

Of all people it's Brennan Johnson who can't nod the ball into the back of the net.

A lovely sweeping move from Spurs has Yves Bissouma collecting on the overlap and chipping the ball into the six-yard box where Johnson is steaming in, but he nods his effort wide!

Tottenham are improving. Son Heung-Min finds half-a-yard on his left but his shot is blocked behind for another corner.

James Maddison whips the set-piece straight out of play. Ah.

Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou was shaking his head soon after Mohammed Kudus turned in Jarrod Bowen's cross.

The Australian will have hoped for an improved defensive performance after the collapse at Brighton before the international break.

But after a similar effort earlier on, the Ghanaian scored at the second time of asking and there will again be questions about this expansive approach, which again looks good when attacking but porous at the back.

Meanwhile, the Hammers are showing a good evolution in style with some qualities still alive from the David Moyes era but a more expansive overall approach under Julen Lopetegui.

How will Tottenham "croissants" Hotspur respond?

Emerson catches Brennan Johnson with his follow-through after he wins the ball. The Wales winger limps for a bit but is OK to continue.

The timing of Johnson's runs are perfect. There is a partnership growing between Dominic Solanke and Johnson.

  20. 'Spurs let themselves down'published at 12:44 British Summer Time 19 October

    Tottenham 0-0 West Ham

    Fara Williams
Former England midfielder on Football Focus

What went wrong for Tottenham last time out against Brighton was their second-half approach. They were very aggressive with their press in the first half, but they just didn't do that after the restart.

They sat back and allowed Brighton to play with the ball and get back in the game. They were all over the place and it was sloppy defending and a lethargic display.

I think if they are going with such a high line that we are used to seeing with Tottenham, they need to be more aggressive with the players in front.
