    Leon Osman
Former Everton and England midfielder on BBC Radio 5 Live

It shows the incredible levels Pep Guardiola has managed to get his teams to play at in the past. Six Premier League titles is an incredible achievement. Of course, they've got the best squad around. But to get them to keep on doing it in every competition for multiple seasons is just incredible.

They are on a bad run now but we are still talking about them going on a run and having every chance of winning the league again.

But it suddenly makes us all sit back and realise how much of a massive surprise it is what they've done over the years.

    Leon Osman
Former Everton and England midfielder on BBC Radio 5 Live

It's just an incredible run that Manchester City are on. I've been in teams where things were going really well and then something happens. You are not quite sure what it is, but you suddenly find yourself in a slump and you find it extremely difficult to get out of it.

I don't think it's a time when Pep Guardiola will panic. I don't think it's a time that he starts making a complete change in the way they play in search of a result.

It will be business as usual and he will be expecting it will turn at some point.

Luis Enrique has said that his Paris St-Germain side will be brave and take risks against Bayern Munich as they aim for only their second win in this season's Champions League.

PSG are 25th in the 36-team table after a 2-1 defeat to Atletico Madrid earlier this month and face 17th-placed Bayern, who have had their share of troubles in Europe too.

"We made things difficult for ourselves. Football is what it is. You have to score. We will give it our all, we will be brave, we will take risks, as we usually do," Enrique said.

Vincent Kompany's Bayern, meanwhile, suffered back-to-back defeats to Aston Villa and Barcelona, but bounced back by edging Benfica 1-0 and are on a six-match winning run across all competitions.

"We are not used to being so far down. We have to win the remaining games to get into the top eight. There's a lot at stake, we are aware of that," said Bayern striker Harry Kane.

Robert Lewandowski will set his sights on scoring his 100th Champions League goal as Barcelona host Brest.

Only Cristiano Ronaldo (140 goals) and Lionel Messi (129) have achieved the feat before and the Pole could become the second-fastest to 100 as he is set to make his 125th appearance in the competition tonight.

Hansi Flick's Barca made a blistering start to the season but lost to Real Sociedad and drew to Celta Vigo in their most recent matches.

"We have a young team, I think it's the youngest in La Liga. It's not always a highway, where you go at high speed, you have to take care in some situations," Flick said.

They still enjoy a four-point lead over second-placed Real Madrid in La Liga and sit sixth in the Champions League.

French side Brest, meanwhile, are unbeaten and one point ahead of Barca in fourth. They've beaten Sturm Graz, RB Salzburg and Sparta Prague and held German champions Bayer Leverkusen 1-1.

  7. 'City need to win ahead of Liverpool'published at 19:42 Greenwich Mean Time 26 November

Man City v Feyenoord (20:00 GMT)

    Andros Townsend
Former England midfielder on BBC Radio 5 Live

Though everyone believes Manchester City are going to go on a run to close the gap in the Premier League, but you don't really want to be 11 points behind Liverpool heading into December. That's not a great position to be at all for anybody.

Pep Guardiola will need a 3-0 or 4-0 win to get that confidence back into his players ahead of their big game against Liverpool, and for their sake, claw back the points they've lost.

  8. 'Succession' - has Arteta cracked it?published at 19:39 Greenwich Mean Time 26 November

    Sporting v Arsenal (20:00 GMT)

    Rory Smith
Chief Soccer Correspondent for The New York Times, on BBC Radio 5 Live Monday Night Club

If you look at Arsenal, it's seven years since Wenger left and that immediate succession was difficult, but since 2019 when Mikel Arteta took charge, it's been a pretty steep trajectory.

They've come back to the position they've occupied since 2004, which was regularly qualifying for the Champions League, mounting title challenges and being one of England's undoubted elite.

In the past year or two it's maybe slowed down a bit. That might be because the final hurdle is the hardest, but he has transformed a club that had dipped really far and turned them back into what they were.

The transition for Arsenal post Wenger is not nearly as long as the one for Manchester United.

Antoine Griezmann was on the scoresheet on his 100th Champions League appearance as well as Julian Alvarez and Angel Correa who both grabbed a brace.

The win moves Diego Simeone's side up to ninth in the table, while a third defeat in five games for Sparta Prague leaves them in 28th place.

    Sporting v Arsenal (20:00 GMT)

    Emlyn Begley
    BBC Sport

Viktor Gyokeres' talent has been obvious for some time but his goalscoring improves each season.

He seems on course to beat last season's 43 goals for Sporting. His two full seasons at Coventry yielded 18 and 22 goals.

Just four seasons ago he scored a combined five goals for parent club Brighton and Championship loan sides Swansea and Coventry.

Messi was on an upwards trajectory too (albeit starting from a higher point) going into his record season for Barcelona - having netted 16, 38, 47 and 53 in his previous four campaigns.

Given Gyokeres' success, will we be writing a similar article about a current Championship player four years from now...?

For those living under a rock, Sporting beat Manchester City 4-1 in their final Champions League game under Ruben Amorim, who has since taken charge of Manchester United.

The Portuguese side are now managed by former reserve team boss Joao Pereira, who will look to continue their incredible unbeaten run of 17 wins and one draw since the start of the season.

They beat Amarante 6-0 on Friday.

Speaking before Tuesday evening's Champions League match, Ruben Amorim's successor at Sporting, Joao Pereira, said: "Before the game against Manchester City, the players were already thinking that they could reach the play-offs.

"The victory against City is a morale booster, but it only gives us three points. Against Arsenal it's a little different. I think we're ready."

  15. Can Gyokeres match Messi's record season?published at 19:33 Greenwich Mean Time 26 November

    Sporting v Arsenal (20:00 GMT)

    Emlyn Begley
    BBC Sport

Viktor Gyokeres just cannot stop scoring. Not that he would want to.

The Sporting striker goes into Tuesday's Champions League match against Arsenal with a remarkable 24 goals in 17 club games this season - including a hat-trick against Manchester City.

Throw in Sweden games too and it is 32 goals in 23 matches.

It seems likely this will be his final season at Sporting, with the 26-year-old former Brighton, Swansea and Coventry player likely to attract many of Europe's top teams.

But how good could this season end up being? He is currently on course to break Lionel Messi's European record of 73 goals in 2011-12.

BBC Sport looks at how plausible that is, and what other record goal tallies he could reach.

I remember 2006 fondly for spending the summer watching the World Cup, then going on holiday to Italy where they showed re runs of all the games! 2006 was also a fantastic year for music (Arctic Monkeys, Muse, etc) and films (The Prestige, The Departed etc). Great year all round!
