Summary

  1. Borchgrevink missing for Heartspublished at 14:39 British Summer Time 10 August

    Dundee United v Hearts (15:00)

Derek McInnes only makes one change from the side that beat Aberdeen 2-0 last week, with Norwegian right-back Christian Borchgrevink missing out.

With back-up Adam Forrester joining St Johnstone on loan through the week, Alan Forrest is pitched in at wing-back.

Midweek signing Pierre Landry Kabore could make his debut from the bench, while Albanian winger Sabah Kerjota will make a league debut if he comes on.

Celtic won the game very comfortably.

There's a lot of work to be done on the training field for Thelin to gel the team and get a tune out of them, especially in the final third.

The two young centre-backs did really well but Jensen was exposed on a number of occasions.

Aberdeen need some more energy and runners.

  3. Brown makes debut, Deas returns, and Lyons misses outpublished at 14:37 British Summer Time 10 August

    Hibernian v Kilmarnock (15:00)

Kilmarnock have been dealt a blow as captain Brad Lyons misses out as his wife is in labour, with summer signings George Stanger and Tom Lowery unavailable through suspension and injury respectively.

Robbie Deas returns from his ban, with 20-year-old Canadian defender Ethan Brown given a debut in defence. He's been on the bench in all of Stuart Kettlewell's games in charge so far, and spent the first half of last season on loan at Dumbarton.

The other change sees Rory McKenzie come into midfield.

On the bench, meanwhile, is 16-year-old midfielder Aaron Davis. The teen only signed his first pro contract in the summer.

  4. Hanley granted Hibs debut in one of three changespublished at 14:36 British Summer Time 10 August

    Hibernian v Kilmarnock (15:00)

Grant Hanley makes his Hibernian debut as one of three changes from the impressive 2-0 away win over Partizan Belgrade in Conference League qualifying on Thursday.

Junior Hoilett and Elie Youan come in, with the latter making his first start of the season. Martin Boyle, Chris Cadden and Jack Iredale all drop to the bench.

It looks like the same shape, which means Josh Mulligan could line up at right wing-back, with Hoilett and Youan supporting Kieron Bowie up top.

Warren O'Hora captains with Boyle on the bench.

Once Celtic got that second goal, that game was over.

Celtic will be very happy with six points and four points ahead of Rangers.

Rangers cannot afford to let Celtic have any more momentum.

  9. 'This season is already over'published at 14:28 British Summer Time 10 August

    FT: Aberdeen 0-2 Celtic

Aberdeen are the worst team in the league, barring Falkirk, from what I've seen so far.

The basic ability to hold on to the ball and make simple passes is just not there, defence is all over the place, no midfield, and the worst striker the club has ever seen. Thelin is out of his depth and in a worse state than last season. Winning the Scottish cup was the best and worst thing that could have happened to Aberdeen, bottom of the top six at very best.

    Wullie

Celtic are four points clear already of the only other team to win the title in over 40 years. This season is already over.

    Stuart

The Scottish Cup victory masked a lot of problems under Thelin. Two games into league action and we look all over the place once again. I fear bottom six this season already.

  10. Early goal of the season contender?published at 14:25 British Summer Time 10 August

Great strike by Reo Hatate! Early contender for goal of the season perhaps? Looking forward to seeing us grow more as a team as the season goes on.

It's going to be a long wait for Aberdeen now with the pressure and uncertainty from the bottom of the table.

Aberdeen don't play again in the league until August 31 owing to European commitments and a domestic postponement.

  12. FULL-TIME Aberdeen 0-2 Celticpublished at 14:23 British Summer Time 10 August

An ultimately comfortable and deserved victory for Celtic.

Benjamin Nygren's first-half strike set the tone, with Reo Hatate's second-half stunner rounding it off in style.

Another difficult afternoon for the Dons.

  13. YELLOW CARDpublished at 14:23 British Summer Time 10 August

    Aberdeen 0-2 Celtic

Nicky Devlin gets a yellow for a foul on Benjamin Nygren.

Yamada's header from the free kick loops over the bar. Looks like he was offside anyway.

Into the final five minutes here. Alistair Johnston is being replaced by Anthony Ralston.

The Aberdeen changes have been positive. In the second half, they've had some more possession.

Celtic are maybe taking the foot off the gas but Aberdeen have been more productive in the last 10 to 15 minutes.

  18. More changes for Celticpublished at 14:10 British Summer Time 10 August

    Aberdeen 0-2 Celtic

Arne Engels and Luke McCowan replace James Forrest and Reo Hatate.

Ten minutes to go at Pittodrie.

  19. Postpublished at 14:09 British Summer Time 10 August

James Forrest plays in Alistair Johnston who makes a great run into the box, but the Canadian rifles the ball into the side netting from an angle.
