    West Brom 1-0 Oxford

    Steve Hermon
West Brom commentator on BBC Radio WM

Alex Mowatt couldn't miss, and they've got the early goal they wanted.

There might have been a bit of loose control in the build-up but he finished it nicely.

What a start by the Baggies!

  2. Postpublished at 15:12 Greenwich Mean Time 22 February

    Swansea 0-0 Blackburn

Swansea moved to replace boss Luke Williams on Monday after a dire run of results.

Signs caretaker Alan Sheehan is maybe looking to do things slightly differently as it's the away side who have had more of the ball in these opening minutes.

One early chance, Andi Weimann's header saved by Swans goalkeeper Laurence Vigouroux.

  3. goal

GOAL: West Brom 1-0 Oxfordpublished at 15:11 Greenwich Mean Time 22 February

    Alex Mowatt (11 mins)

Tony Mowbray made four changes for this game and two of them were the architects of the opener.

The Baggies have started well and get their reward when Isaac Price's super pass finds Alex Mowatt who drifts into the box unmarked to slot past Oxford keeper Jamie Cumming.

  4. Postpublished at 15:11 Greenwich Mean Time 22 February

    Portsmouth 0-0 QPR

Ronnie Edwards who starts for QPR this afternoon is of course on loan from Premier League side Southampton.

The Saints are Pompey's local bitter rivals and every time Edwards gets on the ball he is getting loudly booed by all four stands.

Edwards has only made two senior appearances for Southampton since joining in the summer of 2024.

  5. Postpublished at 15:09 Greenwich Mean Time 22 February

    Coventry City 0-0 Preston

A win today could send Coventry up into the top six.

They've had the better of the opening exchanges as they search for what would be a seventh win in eight games.

  6. 'Osmajic is very strong'published at 15:08 Greenwich Mean Time 22 February

    Coventry 0-0 Preston

    Steve Ogrizovic
Ex-Coventry City goalkeeper on BBC CWR

Both teams are looking dangerous going forward, and there's not much separating them.

Although, I am wondering how the Coventry players will manage with Milutin Osmajic; he's very strong.

  7. Postpublished at 15:06 Greenwich Mean Time 22 February

    Norwich 0-0 Stoke

It's been a lively start at Carrow Road.

The Potters almost took the lead inside the first 20 seconds as Lewis Baker flashed a header just wide of the far post from Junior Tchamadeu's cross in from the right.

Marcelino Nunez then drags an effort inches wide of the far post for the hosts after he was teed up by Borja Sainz.

  8. Postpublished at 15:03 Greenwich Mean Time 22 February

    Portsmouth 0-0 QPR

Fratton Park is bouncing this Saturday afternoon.

The Blues have started fairly quickly too, a big chance early for Josh Murphy who beats a man out wide and whips in a ball that narrowly misses a few attackers in the box.

  9. Postpublished at 15:03 Greenwich Mean Time 22 February

    Swansea 0-0 Blackburn

    Dafydd Pritchard
BBC Sport Wales at the Swansea.com Stadium

Less than 30 seconds in and there's already been a chant of "Alan Sheehan's barmy army" from the home crowd.

Swansea fans getting behind the man who starts his second caretaker spell in charge today.

  10. KICK-OFFpublished at 15:00 Greenwich Mean Time 22 February

Our five Championship games are getting under way.

Plenty at stake at the top and bottom.

When isn't there at this stage of the season in this division?!

  11. 'Mission impossible for Canaries?'published at 14:58 Greenwich Mean Time 22 February

A couple of Royal Marines are abseiling down a stand at Norwich City with match ball.

It’s to mark the club’s armed forces celebration matchday.

They came down to the tune of Mission Impossible, which is quite appropriate considering that’s the question some may ask of Norwich’s chances of getting into the play-offs this season.

It’s been a mixed run of form of late. There’s a five point gap between them and Bristol City and five teams in between.

Former Norwich legend Mark Robins has pulled Stoke up the table. A win or draw today goes some way to securing their Championship future.

  12. Meeting of the managerless in Swanseapublished at 14:56 Greenwich Mean Time 22 February

    Swansea v Blackburn (15:00 GMT)

    Dafydd Pritchard
BBC Sport Wales at the Swansea.com Stadium

The Swansea.com Stadium is the venue for a meeting of two managerless teams at opposite ends of the Championship table this afternoon.

This is the home side’s first game since sacking Luke Williams on Monday, with coach Alan Sheehan temporarily taking the reins as he did before Williams’ appointment a little over 13 months ago.

The Swans are in desperate need of a lift, having lost seven of their past nine Championship matches to slip down to 17th place in the table.

As for Blackburn, this is their third match since former boss John Eustace raised eyebrows by leaving the club in the middle of their bid to earn a play-off spot, in order to take over at Derby County in the relegation zone.

Since Eustace’s departure, interim boss David Lowe has won both his games and kept Rovers fifth in the table ahead of their trip to south Wales.

A gorgeous afternoon here in the Midlands and plenty of reasons to smile for Preston boss Paul Heckinbottam spotted bouncing around in the dugout after serving his touchline ban.

Fans in the stand are wearing bobble hats, scarves… but also sunglasses as the sun shines directly down on one side of the goal... I feel for whichever keeper is by the North Stand.

Portsmouth have steered away from the Championship drop zone in recent weeks. They are now six points clear of the bottom three, with just one loss in 10 league games at Fratton Park.

But the hosts suffered another injury in the week to top goalscorer Callum Lang. He's torn his hamstring and will be out for the remainder of the season.

QPR still have their eye on the play-offs. After Bristol City's win last night against Middlesbrough they are now five points off the top six.

They have also lost their last two away games, so this is a real test to their play-off chances.

    Looking forward to this one.

West Brom v Oxford (15:00 GMT)

West Brom have struggled to knit wins together all season - they last went back-to-back in September - but still remain in a strong position to make the play-offs.

They will move back into the top six if they avoid defeat.

However, the Baggies have lost three and won two of their past six in the league since Tony Mowbray began his second stint and the chasing pack are closing in.

They kick off in seventh but are just four points better off than 13th-placed QPR.

Oxford's superb revival under Gary Rowett has stalled a little in recent weeks, going winless in five and scoring just once in that run.

But the 16th-placed U's do have the relative comfort of a nine-point cushion to the bottom three.

Although their recent meetings aren't so recent, Oxford have won just one of their 11 away league games against West Brom, although the Baggies have won just one of their past eight meetings between the sides. Draw anyone?

  17. Stoke look to increase survival hopes at play-off chasing Canariespublished at 14:43 Greenwich Mean Time 22 February

    Norwich v Stoke (15:00 GMT)

    There’s a pleasing symmetry to Norwich’s league standings this season - W11 D11 L11.

Rather less pleasing, you'd assume, for boss Johannes Hoff Thorup and the Carrow Road faithful as they continue to search for consistency.

They’ve lost just once in five and sit five points outside the top six in 12th, but are without a victory in three and need to stitch together a winning run soon to be considered genuine play-off contenders.

Stoke are looking for points for an altogether different purpose as they start the day 19th and a slightly concerning six points above the drop zone.

But the Potters are on the up under new boss Mark Robins, having lost just two of their past nine in the Championship.

Their 3-1 win over Swansea last time out was their second in three matches, more than they’d managed in their previous 15 games combined.

  18. Sky Blues aiming highpublished at 14:40 Greenwich Mean Time 22 February

    Coventry v Preston (15:00 GMT)

Frank Lampard smilingImage source, Rex Features

Eyebrows were raised when Coventry replaced Mark Robins with Frank Lampard in November.

However, nine wins from 16 Championship games has seen the Sky Blues rocket up the table and they could break into the top six today with a win.

They'll need to end a dire run against today's opponents if they're to do that though.

Preston are unbeaten in their past 22 league games against Coventry, a run stretching back to September 2007.

Despite being 15th, Paul Heckingbottom's men still have play-off aspirations of their own but they'll need to turn draws in to wins if they're to do that.

They've shared the points in 15 of their 33 league games so far this campaign, a division-joint high.

Hull's mightily impressive win at Sunderland has taken them three points clear of the drop zone.

A point for Plymouth and Cardiff in their game at Home Park probably won't satisfy either.

And Derby's late defeat by Millwall leaves them bang in trouble.
