  1. 'These goals are unbelievable for Rashford'published at 22:12 BST 18 September

    FT: Newcastle 1-2 Barcelona

    Barcelona

Barcelona boss Hansi Flick told TNT Sports: "It was a fantastic atmosphere. We saw how Newcastle were playing with high intensity. It's what we expoected. We had the confidence and believed in our strengths.

"It's very important to get three points from the beginning of the season. Last year we lost to Monaco. It helps us to get better and better.

"We always see [this from Rashford] in training and we saw it today. I'm happy for him. In the offence we have a lot of good players and he's one. I'm happy to have him. He gives us more options to follow the match. It's great to have him.

"These two goals will help a lot to get Marcus to the next step. It's so important he has the confidence and feels OK. These goals are unbelievable for him for the next steps."

Barcelona knew full well that they're not going to physically overpower this Newcastle midfield but they can pass round you and keep the ball. They did make it look so easy.

I've got to give a shout out to Jules Kounde, he was outstanding at right-back tonight.

Seven matches to come, they're not going to be playing the Spanish champions every time.

A little bit like two years ago in the Champions League for Newcastle, there were some great memories and moments, but in the end it was good but not quite good enough. And tonight that's the case.

I think Barcelona, in the end, seemed to wear Newcastle down with their patience and getting it in the right area. Every single team-mate had an option when they were on the ball.

Newcastle were outstanding tonight. I believe the chances they missed in the first half, and they were good chances, probably allowed Barca to get into the game.

Newcastle should've been a goal up at half-time. You have to take your chances, I can't reiterate that enough that enough. When you're playing against the likes of Barcelona, a half chance is a good chance.

On tonight's performance, Barcelona just nicked it.

  7. 'Unheard of what Haaland's doing' - Fodenpublished at 22:02 BST 18 September

    FT: Man City 2-0 Napoli

    Manchester City

Manchester City's Phil Foden, who assisted Erling Haaland's 50th Champions League goal, speaking to TNT Sports: "They were a nightmare team to breakdown. I thought we were pretty clever and didn't give away too many turnovers.

"The first half was a bit frustrating. I wasn't getting too many touches between the lines. Erling [Haaland] is always going to make that run. It's just about getting that connection. He seems to break every record going. It's unheard of what he's doing. What an unbelievable player.

On Kevin de Bruyne's return: "He's a legend of the club. I can't thank him enough for what he has done. He's forever going to be a legend here."

Alex, Richard (21.48) and the other Rashford haters should remember he was brilliant for Villa too. He's not the only player to struggle to play for Man Utd...
