Summary

  1. YELLOW CARDpublished at 16:26 British Summer Time 25 May

    Newcastle 0-0 Everton

A first yellow card of the game goes to Idrissa Gueye, who clattered into Tino Livramento to stop a Newcastle counter attack.

He cannot have too many complaints about that one.

  2. Good grief, Gundopublished at 16:25 British Summer Time 25 May

BBC Sport football news reporter at Craven Cottage

He may be 34 and might not have been at this best this season but my word, that is some finish from Ilkay Gundogan.

An acrobatic overhead kick puts Man City on course for the Champions League next season.

  3. GREAT SAVE!published at 16:25 British Summer Time 25 May

    Newcastle 0-0 Everton

It has been all Everton in these last few minutes and James Garner goes close to putting the visitors ahead.

An excellent strike from 25 yards out, Nick Pope got down well and pulled off a diving stop to his left.

  4. Postpublished at 16:25 British Summer Time 25 May

    Nottingham Forest 0-0 Chelsea

Chris Wood is causing problems as Ola Aina lofts a ball into he box and Levi Colwill has to head it behind for a corner.

  5. 'Ruben Amorim'published at 16:25 British Summer Time 25 May

    Man Utd 0-0 Aston Villa

    Simon Stone
BBC Sport chief football news reporter at Old Trafford

We just heard the first rendition of the 'Ruben Amorim' song from the Manchester United fans.

Amorim said after the Europa League final he would leave if either the club hierarchy or the fans didn't want him to stay.

Both have declared their support, which is why Amorim has been empowered to make the kind of decision he has about Alejandro Garnacho.

It goes without saying United must be much better next season than they have been in this one.

Considering both Forest and Chelsea have to score the lack of attacking endeavour is astonishing!

Fabian Hurzeler's side have dropped from eighth to ninth.

Bryan Mbuemo's goal has helped take the Bees above Brighton which could prove to be integral for Brentford securing European football.

  8. Postpublished at 16:23 British Summer Time 25 May

    Nottingham Forest 0-0 Chelsea

Painful one for Morgan Gibbs-White as Moises Caicedo slips and goes right through the back of the Forest midfielder.

    No booking, though.

  9. CLOSE!published at 16:23 British Summer Time 25 May

    Newcastle 0-0 Everton

An ambitious attempt from Carlos Alcaraz at a free-kick from the best part of 30 yards out after Beto was fouled.

Well hit by the Argentine midfielder and on target, but Nick Pope saves with relative ease.

  10. Postpublished at 16:23 British Summer Time 25 May

    Bournemouth 0-0 Leicester

Milos Kerkez, perhaps on his final appearance for Bournemouth, does brilliantly to get to the byline before whipping in a lovely cross but no team-mate could make contact.

  11. Postpublished at 16:22 British Summer Time 25 May

    Southampton 0-0 Arsenal

Southampton players rush to the referee to appeal for a penalty after Yukinari Sugawara's shot hits Declan Rice's arm in the box.

There is a brief VAR check but it is quickly dismissed.

Saints fans aren't impressed either and you can understand why.

Rice got away with one there.

  12. goal

GOAL - Fulham 0-1 Man Citypublished at 16:22 British Summer Time 25 May

    Ilkay Gundogan (21 mins)

Manchester City play it out to their right wing, where Matheus Nunes wins the ball and gets it back from Omar Marmoush to charge into the Fulham box.

The City right-back attempts to dink the ball over Bernd Leno and although it hits Leno's head, Ilkay Gundogan is able to reach behind himself and steer the rebound goalwards.

I suppose that has to be described as an overhead kick and it goes in off the bar for the German's first league goal since returning to the club last August.

  13. Gary Neville's absence is not unnoticedpublished at 16:21 British Summer Time 25 May

    Nottingham Forest 0-0 Chelsea

    Nizaar Kinsella
    BBC Sport football news reporter

Gary Neville is banned from the stadium at the City Ground today and that fact hasn't gone unnoticed with the home supporters.

They have chanted some unflattering words about the former Manchester United defender, now working at SkySports, and are chanting, "Marinakis, he bans who he wants."

The ban came shortly after the TV pundit criticised the club's Greek owner after he marched onto the pitch to speak animatedly with manager Nuno Espirto Santo after the 2-2 draw earlier this month.

  14. goal

GOAL - Wolves 0-1 Brentfordpublished at 16:21 British Summer Time 25 May

    Bryan Mbeumo (20 mins)

Brentford score against the run of play!

Rayan Ait-Nouri loses possession in a dangerous area and Yoane Wissa's initial effort is blocked only for it to fall for Christian Norgaard.

The Bees captain tees up Bryan Mbuemo, who boosts his side's European hopes.

They move into eighth place, a potential Conference League spot.

  15. Postpublished at 16:21 British Summer Time 25 May

    Nottingham Forest 0-0 Chelsea

Nuno Espirito Santo shakes his head on the sideline after a poor free-kick comes to nothing for his side.

It's not the best of games here.

  16. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 16:20 British Summer Time 25 May

    Man Utd 0-0 Aston Villa

Noussair Mazraoui disappears down the tunnel at Old Trafford.

Diogo Dalot comes on to replace him.

  17. Howe firing Newcastle uppublished at 16:20 British Summer Time 25 May

    Newcastle 0-0 Everton

    Phil McNulty
BBC Sport chief football writer at St. James' Park

Some frantic touchline gesturing from Newcastle United manager Eddie Howe and assistant Jason Tindall. The message is clear. They want more urgency from this strangely flat Newcastle side. Or at least they have been so far.

  18. Man Utd don't score enoughpublished at 16:20 British Summer Time 25 May

    Man Utd 0-0 Aston Villa

    Simon Stone
BBC Sport chief football news reporter at Old Trafford

The issue with Alejandro Garnacho's post-Europa League final post (and that of his brother) is that they fail to take into account the Argentina wide-man is partly culpable for Manchester United's failure to score enough goals this season.

It was an issue highlighted by head coach Ruben Amorim yesterday,

United have had three decent opportunities already today. But the score is still level.

They will never improve to any great degree until they score more often.

  19. Tense opening on Tynesidepublished at 16:20 British Summer Time 25 May

    Newcastle 0-0 Everton

    Phil McNulty
BBC Sport chief football writer at St. James' Park

Newcastle United are struggling to find rhythm early on. There are a few nerves around here on Tyneside.

Everton manager David Moyes could not hide his disgust when James Garner was played into a perfect crossing position by Idrissa Gueye's fine past and completely wasted the opportunity.

  20. ouch!

Postpublished at 16:19 British Summer Time 25 May

Noussair Mazraoui has pulled up here while trying to defend from Ian Maatsen.

It looks like a hamstring issue and a cruel end to the Morocco international's season.

Diogo Dalot is getting ready to come on for Manchester United.
