Ibou Touray's volley gave Bradford City a dream start at Ewood Park

League One Bradford City beat Championship Blackburn in the Carabao Cup after scoring twice in the opening five minutes.

Ibou Touray thumped the away side ahead with a volley inside two minutes before Tyreik Wright robbed teenage Rovers goalkeeper Nicholas Michalski of possession 25 yards out and Will Swan rolled the ball into the empty net after four minutes.

The home side pulled one back before the break when Dion de Neve converted confidently after a long throw.

Blackburn pushed for a leveller to send it to penalties but Sam Walker made a great late save to deny Yuki Ohashi and the Bantams progressed with their first win at Ewood Park since 1921.

Victory in Lancashire continues Bradford's excellent start to the season after promotion from League Two in 2024-25.

The Bantams came into this match with four points from their opening two games and stunned their higher level opponents with two quickfire goals.

Rovers, who made eight changes from the side beaten at West Brom on Saturday, improved as the match wore on but the 2002 winners bow out at the first hurdle for just the second time in 10 seasons.

Valerien Ismael's men welcome Birmingham City on Saturday, while Bradford host Luton.
