Grimsby continued their unbeaten start to the season, progressing to the second round of the Carabao Cup with a 3-1 win over Shrewsbury at Blundell Park.
Justin Amaluzor, Cam Gardner and the in-form Jaze Kabia scored the goals as the Mariners built on four league points from games against Crawley and Harrogate.
The hosts opened the scoring in the 15th minute as Geza David Turi intercepted a pass and fed Amaluzor, who finished well into the left corner of the net.
Grimsby were awarded a penalty in the 27th minute for a handball, but Jamie Walker could not double the home side's advantage from the spot with Elyh Harrison saving.
The Mariners continued to control proceedings to start the second half, getting their second goal in the 50th minute as Gardner tapped in Tyrell Warren's low cross.
Shrewsbury were given a glimmer of hope 63 minutes in as Tom Sang's looping effort from inside the box had enough height to evade keeper Christy Pym and nestle into the side netting.
Kabia scored his third Grimsby goal in as many games from the penalty spot in the 92nd minute to seal victory.
