Owen Oseni marked his first Plymouth Argyle start with two second-half goals
Striker Owen Oseni scored twice for Plymouth Argyle as they came from 2-0 down to beat Queens Park Rangers 3-2 in the Carabao Cup first round.
Having started brightly, Plymouth found themselves a goal behind when Daniel Bennie tapped in from close range, although they should have been level moments later only for Paul Nardi to save Jamie Paterson's 26th-minute penalty.
Rayan Kolli made it 2-0 for Rangers in first-half stoppage time with a far-post header from a well-worked corner routine.
Brendan Wiredu pulled one back with a header soon after the break before Oseni stretched to level moments later.
The 22-year-old - making his first start in EFL-level competition after a summer move from St Mirren - completed the turnaround with a close-range finish to reach round two.
QPR put their faith in youth as Julien Stephan made 11 changes from the side that drew with Preston on Saturday, with none of that starting line-up involved.
Argyle made six changes and gave full debuts to Oseni and fellow summer signings Ayman Benarous and Paterson.
They had the better of the early chances as young forward Joe Hatch fired an early near-post chance over while Oseni had two shots blocked.
But Rangers took the lead in their first attack as Rumarn Burrell - who had been linked with a move to Home Park over the summer - saw his header from Elijah Dixon-Bonner's cross saved low down by Luca Ashby-Hammond, only for Bennie to tap in from close range.
Plymouth should have been level four minutes later after Tegan Finn was fouled in the box by Burrell, but Paterson's penalty was saved low to his right by Nardi.
Burrell saw a shot drift wide of the post after a good break with five minutes before Kolli made it two as he outjumped Hatch to nod in Harvey Vale's cross from a short corner.
But Argyle were excellent after the break - Wiredu got his first goal since his summer move from Fleetwood, nodding home from a yard when Victor Palsson headed back a corner at the far post, and Palsson had an effort from a corner two minutes later cleared off the line.
Oseni scored his first goal soon after as Benarous curled in a cross from the left and the young striker stretched to make a good contact at the far post to beat Nardi.
Sensing they could win the game, Argyle brought on experienced attacking talent from the bench in the form of Caleb Watts, Xavier Amaechi and Bali Mumba.
The move paid off as Watts dinked in a cross from the right which Oseni sidefooted in at the far post to cap a memorable first start for the Pilgrims.
