Summary

  1. 'Miles better from Riis'published at 20:50 Greenwich Mean Time 6 November 2024

    HT: Preston 0-0 Sunderland

    Paul Gallagher
Former Preston midfielder on BBC Radio Lancashire

We had a fantasic view of that save from Sunderland keeper Simon Moore, and it looked destined for the top right hand corner.

Also, that is miles better from Emil Riis.

  2. HALF-TIMEpublished at 20:48 Greenwich Mean Time 6 November 2024

    Preston 0-0 Sunderland

All square at the interval but Preston have looked the more likely in that first-half.

Mads Frokjaer-Jensen headed wide from 12 yards after a great cross by Sam Greenwood found the Dane completely unmarked.

Simon Moore has also made a couple of good stops in the Sunderland goal to keep it level.

Not an easy ride for the league leaders so far.

  3. GREAT SAVE!published at 20:48 Greenwich Mean Time 6 November 2024

    Preston 0-0 Sunderland

Emil Riis fashions a chance for himself and curls an effort towards the top right-hand corner but Simon Moore leaps brilliantly in the Sunderland goal to turn it behind.

Sam Greenwood fires over the bar after the corner is cleared and falls to him on the edge of the box.

The Black Cats could easily have been behind in the first 45 minutes.

  4. 'All Preston'published at 20:47 Greenwich Mean Time 6 November 2024

    Preston 0-0 Sunderland

    Sanny Rudravajhala
BBC Radio 5 Live at Deepdale

The away end is packed but they’ve quietened down for the moment.

They’ve certainly seen a lot of action… but it’s been all Preston.

You’d worry for Preston that as soon as Sunderland find their feet, they could make the home side regret their missed chances.

  5. YELLOW CARDpublished at 20:46 Greenwich Mean Time 6 November 2024

    Luton 0-0 Cardiff

Luton are screaming for a penalty and instead Carlton Morris has a yellow card.

The captain meets a deep free kick with a volleyed pass into the box and it looks to have hit the hand of Calum Chambers before going out for a corner.

Morris isn't happy and picks up a booking for his protests.

You can understand why he's upset, that one looked clear.

  6. Postpublished at 20:46 Greenwich Mean Time 6 November 2024

    Preston 0-0 Sunderland

Oohs from the home support as they play it out from the back but Preston work it forward well again.

A long ball over the top then comes to Kaine Kesler-Hayden who finds space on the left but his cross is wayward.

Frustration from the Preston attackers who'd got forward in support.

  7. 'One goal wins this'published at 20:46 Greenwich Mean Time 6 November 2024

    HT: Blackburn 0-0 Stoke

    Andy Bayes
    Reporter, BBC Radio Lancashire

Goalless but not for the lack of trying from the home side who have had their moments.

Ohashi denied at one end. Manhoef had to do better for Stoke at the other.

Two sides short of goals. One goal wins this.

  8. 'Sunderland need to reorganise'published at 20:45 Greenwich Mean Time 6 November 2024

    Preston 0-0 Sunderland

    Gary Bennett
Ex-Sunderland defender on BBC Radio Newcastle

A big concern for me is how easily Preston can play their way out from the back.

Sunderland need to have a proper talk at half time so they can reorganise.

  9. Postpublished at 20:43 Greenwich Mean Time 6 November 2024

    Luton 0-0 Cardiff

    Big chance for Luton.

Anwar El Ghazi's free kick for Cardiff is easily saved by Thomas Kaminski and the keeper wastes no time as he sets the home side on a counter attack.

Amari'i Bell whips a cross in from the left and Carlton Morris heads just over.

  10. Postpublished at 20:43 Greenwich Mean Time 6 November 2024

    Preston 0-0 Sunderland

We might not have said this too many times so far this season, but Sunderland will probably be the happier of the two sides that this game is still level.

Preston's pressure in the opening half-an-hour has just tapered a little, probably much to the relief of the 5,000-strong travelling support.

Not the most inspiring game being played at Kenilworth Road this evening.

The Bluebirds have been red hot recently, while the Hatters are in desperate need of a victory to lift them out of the bottom three.

But there's been a lack of quality in forward areas from both sides, with the in-form Callum Robinson blasting over for Cardiff and Luton captain's Carlton Morris's tame effort not troubling Jak Alnwick in the visitors' net.

  13. 'Preston lost their rhythm'published at 20:39 Greenwich Mean Time 6 November 2024

    Preston 0-0 Sunderland

    Paul Gallagher
Former Preston midfielder on BBC Radio Lancashire

The rhythm's gone out of the game.

There was a break in play and it's taken the sting out of Preston.

  14. HALF-TIMEpublished at 20:37 Greenwich Mean Time 6 November 2024

    Coventry 0-1 Derby

    Derby celebrateImage source, Rex Features

Jack Rudoni's poor backpass and a composed finish by Jerry Yates is the difference at the break.

Coventry have huffed and puffed after gifting Derby the lead in the 11th minute but it's been fairly comfortable for the Rams.

Mark Robins will have to get to the drawing board to figure out how to breach a strong resistance from Paul Warne's men in the second half.

  15. CLOSE!published at 20:37 Greenwich Mean Time 6 November 2024

    Preston 0-0 Sunderland

Sunderland's Aaron Connolly comes flying in at the near post after a teasing ball into the box but Freddie Woodman gets down well to save and push it behind for a corner.

A looping corner goes high and over everyone. The ref had spotted a foul anyway but that effort by Connolly is the closest Regis Le Bris' side have come so far.

  16. Heroic O'Nienpublished at 20:35 Greenwich Mean Time 6 November 2024

    Preston 0-0 Sunderland

    Adam Lanigan
    BBC Sport at Deepdale

Luke O'Nien deserves the ovation that he is getting from the Sunderland fans after throwing himself into a challenge in the area to make a block.

Judging by the way he walked to the sidelines, he may have taken one for the team in the unmentionables!

That is true commitment to the cause!

  17. 'Big second half coming for Leeds'published at 20:34 Greenwich Mean Time 6 November 2024

    HT: Millwall 1-0 Leeds

    Jon Newsome
Former Leeds defender on BBC Radio Leeds

It's disappointing how easily Jake Cooper managed to get a header to set up Japhet Tanganga.

We need to be alive to the second ball every time and we haven't been.

    It's a big 45 minutes coming up.

  18. Postpublished at 20:33 Greenwich Mean Time 6 November 2024

    Preston 0-0 Sunderland

Sunderland defender Luke O'Nien is down with an injury that no man wants to suffer.

The ball drops to Preston's Jordan Storey in the box and he unleashes a powerful shot straight into O'Nien who makes a crucial block.

He's up and walking away gingerly but that was an important intervention by the centre-back.

  19. HALF-TIMEpublished at 20:32 Greenwich Mean Time 6 November 2024

    Blackburn 0-0 Stoke

No goals so far at Ewood Park and it's the home side that have dictated the play but have not found any way through, yet it's Stoke who will feel aggrieved they weren't awarded a penalty for a suspected handball against Callum Brittain.

  20. HALF-TIMEpublished at 20:32 Greenwich Mean Time 6 November 2024

    Millwall 1-0 Leeds

The Lions lead through that late goal from Japhet Tanganga.
