It was all change again at the top of the Championship on Tuesday night with Leeds winning at Middlesbrough to return to the summit as Burnley were held at relegation-battling Derby and Sheffield United lost at home to play-off chasing Millwall.

Bristol City boosted their hopes of a top six finish with a dramatic late win over West Bromwich Albion, while Cardiff salvaged what might prove to be a vital point in the fight to avoid the drop at Preston, as did Luton at Stoke.

Plymouth could move within just two points of safety with a win at Swansea, who themselves sit six points above the drop zone and will want to pull clear.

Oxford hold a three-point buffer over the bottom three and face QPR, who have been somewhat dragged back into the mix in recent weeks and are only one point further ahead.

Portsmouth are one of four teams in a similar position in action tonight, also sitting three points above Cardiff in 22nd.

Pompey travel to Coventry, who are the only team above 15th on show and would move back into a play-off spot with victory.

Did anyone mention that things get pretty tense at this stage of the season?

The skies are still bright and the sun is yet to set by the time kick-off rolls around on an evening matchday...

That can only mean one thing - well, it's the business end of the football season, of course.

Some might be distracted by the glitz and glamour of the city of love tonight with Aston Villa in Champions League action in Paris.

But we love nothing more than the blood and thunder of the EFL, where Championship futures and a potential promotion to the Premier League are at stake.

Quite where the time has gone, we will never know, but with a little over three weeks of the campaign remaining, let's not waste another second in getting started...
