Summary

  1. Postpublished at 20:16 Greenwich Mean Time 21 January

    Bolton 0-0 Charlton

No goals but the Trotters have had the better of the opening exchanges in League One, with Lewis Collins going close to breaking the deadlock from close range while Ashley Maynard-Brewer in the Addicks goal being equal to a couple of efforts too.

  2. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 20:15 Greenwich Mean Time 21 January

    Hull City 0-0 QPR

We haven't seen too much of QPR as an attacking force but they are very close to taking the lead.

Morgan Fox strikes the post for the Londoners with a header having moments earlier seen a shot blocked.

  3. Postpublished at 20:14 Greenwich Mean Time 21 January

    Millwall 1-0 Cardiff

Some nice approach play from Cardiff sees Callum Robinson played in down the right of the area but he can only crack his low angled strike too close to Lukas Jensen who drops to his left to save with relative ease.

  4. goal

GOAL: Derby 0-1 Sunderlandpublished at 20:14 Greenwich Mean Time 21 January

    Eliezer Mayenda (28 mins)

    Breakthrough for the Black Cats!

Derby lose the ball in midfield and they are punished heavily. Chris Rigg works it to Jobe Bellingham, who carries it in the Bellingham family manner.

His pass arrives at Eliezer Mayenda's feet via a slight deflection, but the young Spanish winger fires it past Jacob Widell Zetterstrom.

  5. goal

GOAL: Middlesbrough 1-0 West Brompublished at 20:14 Greenwich Mean Time 21 January

    Hayden Hackney (29 mins)

A local Teesside hero upsets another as midfielder Hayden Hackney takes aim from 25 yards and beats Alex Palmer with a firm low strike.

Surely Boro legend Tony Mowbray would have appreciated the quality of the shot.

Hackney scored the winner in the reverse fixture in October and he's done the business back on home turf.

  6. Postpublished at 20:13 Greenwich Mean Time 21 January

    Wigan 0-0 Burton

First chance of the night goes to the hosts.

Jonny Smith crosses to the far post and Dale Taylor is there to meet it but can't find enough power to beat Max Crocombe in the Brewers' goal.

  7. Postpublished at 20:13 Greenwich Mean Time 21 January

    Middlesbrough 0-0 WBA

    Steve Hermon
West Brom commentator on BBC Radio WM

Tony Mowbray is shouting some instructions, not a smile on his face.

He is full of concentration on his return to football.

  8. Postpublished at 20:13 Greenwich Mean Time 21 January

    Peterborough 0-0 Exeter

Few would have Peterborough down as relegation strugglers in League One, but that is the current reality for Darren Ferguson's side.

There have been chances at both ends with the Grecians but no goals as yet.

  9. goal

GOAL Oxford 1-2 Lutonpublished at 20:11 Greenwich Mean Time 21 January

    Mark McGuinness (27 mins)

    Parity didn't last long...

Tom Krauss whips in a brilliant free-kick and Mark McGuinness gets to it at the far post and turn it towards goal - Jamie Cumming claws the ball away but it's already gone over the line.

    Two goals in four minutes.

  10. Postpublished at 20:11 Greenwich Mean Time 21 January

    Middlesbrough 0-0 West Brom

Middlesbrough have thrown the early shots, but West Brom now fashion a good chance of their own.

Karlan Grant receives the ball on the left and cuts inside before delivering a beautiful cross towards the back stick.

Tom Fellows gets there first ahead of his marker but he steers it wide of the near post with his left foot. If he had gone with his left, the outcome may have been different.

  11. YELLOW CARDpublished at 20:10 Greenwich Mean Time 21 January

    Oxford United 1-1 Luton Town

Luton's Zack Nelson follows through on his man as Oxford clear the ball away - it's late and it's an easy decision for the referee.

One goal each and one yellow card each now.

  12. YELLOW CARDpublished at 20:09 Greenwich Mean Time 21 January

    Swansea 1-0 Sheff Utd

Rhys Norrington-Davies has gone into referee Dean Whitestone's notebook after unceremoniously hauling down his opposite number to prevent a Swans break down the right.

More than 70 minutes on a caution is not ideal...

    Middlesbrough 0-0 WBA

    Neil Maddison

Another fine save from Oliver Dovin for Coventry!

    Michal Helik (23 mins)

A first Oxford goal for Michal Helik.

  16. Postpublished at 20:06 Greenwich Mean Time 21 January

    Middlesbrough 0-0 West Brom

A half chance for Emmanuel Latte Lath.

Hayden Hackney finds him with a yard of space inside the box, but the cross is maybe a tad behind the Ivory Coast striker and his effort goes over the top.

Not goal number 12 of the season this time for Latte Lath.

  17. CLOSE!published at 20:06 Greenwich Mean Time 21 January

    Millwall 1-0 Cardiff

Cardiff's Yakou Meite fizzes a powerful strike from outside the area narrowly past the angle of Lukas Jensen's post and bar.

    Nick Barnes
    BBC Newcastle's Sunderland commentator

It is a clear and dark night here at Pride Park - a very cold one tonight, it is a great night for football.

Preston North End's Milutin Osmajic celebratesImage source, PA Media

An early blow for Watford as Kwadwo Baah pulls up sharply, signals for treatment and then limps off. Festy Ebosele on to replace him.

But then a bigger blow as Preston take the lead!

Jayden Meghoma, on debut, gets in down the left and crosses low towards the near post.

Milutin Osmajić is first to it and taps home from a few yards out.
