The sort of half that sums up Plymouth this season, Wayne Rooney or no Wayne Rooney.

Chances created, lovely interplay throughout, but they've not taken advantage and defensive issues are their undoing.

Mehmeti's goal the difference. Bristol City lead at the break.

  2. Postpublished at 13:19 Greenwich Mean Time 1 January

    Millwall 0-0 Oxford Utd

Millwall have another chance as Mihailo Ivanovic blazes over the bar.

    QPR 2-0 Watford

A big chance for Vakoun Bayo.

Jeremy Ngakia sends a wicked ball across and the striker is free at the back post and looks certain to score but heads it into the side netting.

That just about sums up their afternoon so far as we enter four minutes of added time.

  4. Postpublished at 13:15 Greenwich Mean Time 1 January

    Millwall 0-0 Oxford Utd

The visitors have picked up just two points away from home since they were promoted from League One last season.

The Watford defenders need to stand up and get up and get the ball, but they are just standing there like statues.

It is poor from Watford defensively. If you are going to concede goals like that away from home you are not going to win games.

They switched off from the first goal they are just standing watching the game!

  6. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 13:14 Greenwich Mean Time 1 January

    Plymouth 0-1 Bristol City

QPR double their lead and again it's from a set-piece.

This time it's a long ball forward from their own half and it comes to Ilias Chair, who sends a dangerous ball in towards the back post and they're queueing up.

It looks like Michael Frey is going to nod in his second of the game before Jimmy Dunne pops up in front and heads back across goal for his third in seven matches.

Hornets goalkeeper Daniel Bachmann gets a yellow card for his protests, it's not going their way so far today.

    Millwall 0-0 Oxford

    Plymouth 0-1 Bristol City

    Gary Owers

GOAL - Plymouth 0-1 Bristol Citypublished at 13:03 Greenwich Mean Time 1 January

    Anis Mehmeti (32 mins)

Anis Mehmeti celebrates opening the scoring for Bristol City at PlymouthImage source, Rex Features

Is that the curse of the commentator? Yes. Yes it is.

Those chances have cost Plymouth as Max Bird's through ball finds Nahki Wells, who cleverly lays off to Anis Mehmeti, who finds an empty net.

Openness at the back has been an issue for Plymouth all season and that was too easy.

  16. Postpublished at 13:02 Greenwich Mean Time 1 January

    QPR 1-0 Watford

There's a coming together between Vakoun Bayo and Jimmy Dunne, with the Hoops defender going down in a heap.

But there's no cards shown and we go on.

  17. Postpublished at 13:02 Greenwich Mean Time 1 January

    Plymouth 0-0 Bristol City

Half an hour in and the post-Rooney era has begun fairly well for Plymouth, if slightly frustrating.

Chances haven't been made the most of. Bristol City have only won three league away games and you can tell why so far.

    Millwall 0-0 Oxford Utd

Off we go at The Den.

  19. Postpublished at 12:59 Greenwich Mean Time 1 January

    QPR 1-0 Watford

Great play from Kwadwo Baah as he collects the ball on the left and runs past a couple of challenges before flashing a dangerous shot over via a deflection.

The corner comes to nothing as the Hoops get on the ball again.

A nice quick tempo to this game.

  20. Postpublished at 12:58 Greenwich Mean Time 1 January

    Plymouth 0-0 Bristol City

Former Bristol City midfielder on BBC Radio Bristol

Plymouth forward Morgan Whittaker accelerates away from the Bristol City midfielderImage source, Rex Features

There have been three or four shots on target but the shots are from the edge of the box and are not clear cut.

Bristol are being overloaded in the midfield and both Anis Mehmeti and Scott Twine are having to drop back.
