Summary

  1. Postpublished at 12:57 Greenwich Mean Time 1 January

    QPR 1-0 Watford

QPR win a corner and Kenneth Paal floats one to the back post.

It's knocked down to Kieran Morgan but his first-time half-volley is sliced over.

  2. Postpublished at 12:56 Greenwich Mean Time 1 January

    Plymouth 0-0 Bristol City

Another poor Plymouth effort from distance, this time from Al Hajj. He, like Whittaker, opts for placement over power, but O'Leary is there to collect.

Lots of good play from the home side but a lack of cutting edge that could cost them if they're not careful.

  3. Postpublished at 12:55 Greenwich Mean Time 1 January

    QPR 1-0 Watford

Georgi Chakvetadze stings the palms of Paul Nardi as he cuts in from the left and shoots with the right for the visitors.

First real effort of note from the Hornets, it's all in the QPR half at the moment.

  4. Postpublished at 12:53 Greenwich Mean Time 1 January

    Plymouth 0-0 Bristol City

Bali Mumba is robed of the ball in the midfield and Jason Knight runs forward before finding Anis Mehmeti. Plymouth block his effort and clear the resulting corner, but perhaps a little warning for the hosts.

  5. Postpublished at 12:52 Greenwich Mean Time 1 January

    QPR 1-0 Watford

A sniff for Vakoun Bayo as he swings at a cross but can't make the connection to bring his side level.

At the other then, the QPR attackers are putting goalkeeper Daniel Bachmann under pressure every chance they get.

  6. Postpublished at 12:49 Greenwich Mean Time 1 January

    Plymouth 0-0 Bristol City

Tame effort from Morgan Whittaker at the edge of the area. He really should have put his foot through it but he tries to curl it.

Moments later, the same situation repeats itself and the result is the same; Whittaker again tries to wrap his foot around it.

    Plymouth are playing well, though.

  7. Postpublished at 12:48 Greenwich Mean Time 1 January

    QPR 1-0 Watford

Tom Cleverley and the Watford bench aren't happy with the free kick that led to the goal.

Michael Frey and Ryan Porteous have a hold of each other and the decision went the way of the Hoops.

But it doesn't excuse the fact the Hornets switched off to allow Kieran Morgan to find the space to set up the Swiss striker for the finish.

We're back under way after a few minutes pause after that challenge by Paul Smyth on Daniel Bachmann.

  8. Postpublished at 12:45 Greenwich Mean Time 1 January

    QPR 1-0 Watford

Some strong running from Paul Smyth ends with the winger clattering Watford goalkeeper Daniel Bachmann after the ball is played all the way back under pressure.

There's a small break as the keeper receives some treatment.

  9. CLOSE!published at 12:42 Greenwich Mean Time 1 January

    Plymouth 0-0 Bristol City

    Should be 1-0 to Argyle.

Lovely feet from Rami Al Hajj opens up space for a shot, which O'Leary parries straight into Hardie's path.

With the goal gaping and just yards out, he fires over. Simply had to score.

  10. Postpublished at 12:41 Greenwich Mean Time 1 January

    QPR 1-0 Watford

A cross from Jeremy Ngakia skids all the way harmlessly through to QPR keeper Paul Nardi.

The visitors need to just settle down a bit here, they had a lot of the ball before that opening goal but they keep losing the ball in midfield before they can really get forward.

  11. Watford 'can't switch off'published at 12:41 Greenwich Mean Time 1 January

    QPR 1-0 Watford

    Derek Payne
Former Watford midfielder on BBC Three Counties Radio

Watford can't have these slow starts, you can't switch off from these set plays. That should happen lower down the leagues but it is happening way to often for Watford.

There was no sense of urgency.

  12. Postpublished at 12:40 Greenwich Mean Time 1 January

    Plymouth 0-0 Bristol City

    Great chance for Bristol City!

The wind benefits Nakhi Wells as the ball stays in on the near touchline, and he feeds George Tanner whose cross narrowly evades Anis Mehmeti.

    He's back!

And it's simple as you like from QPR.

The home side win the free kick and Kenneth Paal plays in Kieran Morgan down the left, whose cut back is right on the money for Michael Frey to sweep home on his first start after a long injury lay-off, that's five goals for the season for him.

A perfect start for the Hoops.

  15. Postpublished at 12:35 Greenwich Mean Time 1 January

    Plymouth 0-0 Bristol City

Not a great start at Home Park but Max O'Leary did have to be on his toes to smother the ball before an onrushing Ryan Hardie to stop him from poking it home for the hosts.

It is a blustery one in Devon.

  16. Postpublished at 12:35 Greenwich Mean Time 1 January

The rain is pouring down in west London this lunchtime.
