We are meeting a Sheffield United team at the right stage of the season. They have got a big derby match on Sunday. Whether they say it or not, they have got one little eye on it and Bristol City can take them and I really fancy our chances tonight.

I hope this will be a really big game!

    David Fox
Former Norwich City midfielder on BBC Radio Norfolk

I'm sure it doesn't matter what player is out there representing Norwich City they will have a way of playing. They will be expected to dominate the ball, dominate possession and create overloads and space in which to work.

You can talk about the injuries and who missing. But there's 11 players out there who are all fired up to put in a shift, and to put their hands up and show the manager that maybe I'm not a back up and maybe I can contribute quite a bit going forward.

There's a lot of changes out there, but I'm looking forward to see how the lads deal with it.

Plymouth captain Joe Edwards leaves the field injuredImage source, Rex Features

Plymouth Argyle boss Wayne Rooney on how recent injuries - including to captain Joe Edwards - will leave an 'opportunity' for players coming into the Pilgrims squad to prove themselves:

"He's such a huge character for us and he started the season really well. He's a leader for us and were going to miss him now.

"I'm not going to sit here and complain about injuries - they happen. We're looking at different things, it's hard to figure out why. I've never had this amount of muscle injuries at any of the clubs I've been at. So we are looking at reasons why, to see if we can get too the bottom of it.

"Some of the players coming into the team, because players have been injured so you hope they will hold their head up high and say 'right this is my opportunity to show I deserve to be and stay in the team'.

"As I've said, one players loss or disappointment at being injured is another players opportunity, and the lads that come into the team have to take that."

It is more than nine years since Portsmouth last won at Home Park in the game dubbed the Dockyard Derby.

The 2024 versions of these sides are both desperate for three points as they battle to get out of the relegation zine.

The hosts - who occupy the final spot in the relegation places - have taken one point from their last four games while bottom-of-the-table Pompey have the same tally from their last three.

Wayne Rooney's Argyle will be desperate to turn around a toothless showing at Leeds united on Saturday when they failed to have a shot in a 3-0 loss, although the Pilgrims' home form is good with 10 points from the last 12 available.

Portsmouth will be buoyed by their recent away form - a draw at Hull City on Saturday and a win at QPR a few weeks ago has seem them take four points from a possible nine since the last international break.

The Slovenia international ended Swansea's 563-minute run without scoring by netting in the first half of Saturday's 2-1 win, his first goal since 17 August.

Florian Bianchini then grabbed his first goal for the club, before Oxford pulled one back to make Swansea work hard for their first win in seven games.
