There's a lot of good players at Spurs.

They looked a bit tired and didn't look to have the legs to get away. They are not getting the rest they need, but you still need to be able to do it.

Spurs are high-energy and if they don't play that way they're not going to be very good.

  3. 'The difference in performance from us was too big'published at 22:19 Greenwich Mean Time 15 January

    FT: Leicester 0-2 Crystal Palace

    Leicester City

Leicester boss Ruud van Nistelrooy speaking to BBC Match of the Day: "I think the difference in performance from us was too big. We dropped our levels and Palace are lethal. First chance is in and it took the momentum. I think we should have had the first goal to build on.

"Palace came well out of the dressing room in the second half, they pushed us back a bit and then a goal was scored and the game changed. We dropped in intensity in the defensive bit in the pressing and that's why the momentum changed as well.

"We were speaking about Champions League opposition and the tough run we had. We wanted to show today we have improved and we did that for 45 minutes but it's about consistently performing over 90 minutes and we're not quite there yet.

About fans chanting about the club hierarchy: "It's vital. In difficult times, we need to stay together. We need to think of the club and the team. In difficult times, you need to step up."

  4. 'This is what we needed'published at 22:19 Greenwich Mean Time 15 January

    FT: Arsenal 2-1 Tottenham

    Arsenal

Arsenal forward Leandro Trossard speaking to TNT Sports: "This is what we needed. We all know that we have to win these games against Spurs. You can see what it means to the fans, they are buzzing. It is a great night for us.

"We want to win every game, especially these derby games. We were up for it today and managed to take three points.

"It is an amazing feeling [to score], especially when it ends up being the winner as well. I am just happy for everyone. We work so hard day in and day out. Now we need to look forward and build on it.

"The hardest thing in football is to get the ball in the net. I think that we could have scored more today as well but obviously we are happy with the three points.

"We always want to put pressure on them [Liverpool] but we can only look at ourselves. Try to win every game starting today. We need to look forward, take all the positives and enjoy this win."

  5. 'Six without a win is not good enough'published at 22:17 Greenwich Mean Time 15 January

    FT: Leicester 0-2 Crystal Palace

    Leicester City

Leicester boss Ruud van Nistelrooy speaking to TNT Sports: "I think the difference between the first and second half was something I didn't see coming and it was big. it was a very good and energetic first half and the second half was very poor. They had a bit of momentum out of the dressing room. That first goal was in and I thought there that the confidence dropped a bit.

"We have to look at what we created in the firts half. We have to grab the momentum ourselves with the goal and build on that. We have to keep going. We couldn't get the chances in the second half and it was really difficult at 2-0.

"If you look at what you create over a game, it's enough to get a result and get points. It's a big blow, we were looking to get a result and this is a big blow. We need to stick together and everyone is looking in the same direction.

"Six without a win is not good enough. You can't keep talking about performances. We need to win and that needs to happen soon."

  6. 'A lot of positives but a lot to improve'published at 22:16 Greenwich Mean Time 15 January

    Newcastle United

Newcastle boss Eddie Howe, speaking to MOTD: "We had to be patient and we had to play a different way slightly.

"We had a lot of the ball in the first half, we knew Wolves would be stubborn opponents. We got a lucky break with the first goal but overall I think we deserved it.

"Depending on how the game pans out you need different ways to win. The first goal was so important today, we had a few scares today, Wolves are difficult to play against.

"Overall can't be too picky, it is nine wins in a row now. We know we can play better than today, we did enough of the detailed work to get the win.

"There's a lot to be positive about and a lot to improve."

On Alexander Isak: "It is one of his biggest strengths - his composure and level of finishing is at the highest level. He has the extra second of composure that players at the top level have."

  7. 'Spurs looked tired'published at 22:15 Greenwich Mean Time 15 January

    FT: Arsenal 2-1 Tottenham

    Aaron Lennon
Former Tottenham midfielder on BBC Radio 5 Live

    On Tottenham...

The team looked tired today, the team is stretched but it's a big problem.

Ange Postecoglou's way is fast tempo for 95 minutes. The Spurs players don't look like they can keep up with the pace.

It is a massive problem. One win in nine - it's not good enough at all.

  8. 'We have to do better in every aspect'published at 22:15 Greenwich Mean Time 15 January

    FT: Arsenal 2-1 Tottenham

    Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham captain Son Heung-min told TNT Sports: "Very disappointing. This game means a lot to the club and fans. Conceding goals like this is more painful.

"The manager is right. We were too passive. We always want to press and play high up as possible. In the first half we were way too passive. Second half was a little better. The first half was not good enough.

"It's up to the players as well. You have to listen to what we want to do. I think we were not disciplined enough.

"We have to do better in every aspect.

"When you look at table it's not good enough."

  9. 'We don't want to be in this situation'published at 22:13 Greenwich Mean Time 15 January

Leicester captain Jamie Vardy to TNT Sports: "I'm not sure. I don't know if it's mental or physical. I think we'll look back and try to dissect it all. It's disappointing. We don't want to be in this situation. We need to be doing it for 90 minutes, 45 isn't enough.

"We've not been with the gaffer that long and we're getting better and better with how he wants us to play. We need to do it for the full 90 and everything clicks.

"There's always confidence but we've not been able to get those results. Football is a results business. We've not got the result we wanted tonight but it's a quick turnaround."

  10. 'One mistake is one goal against this kind of team'published at 22:12 Greenwich Mean Time 15 January

    FT: Newcastle 3-0 Wolves

    Wolves

Wolves boss Vitor Pereira speaking to MOTD: "Proud of my players, we tried to get the result. The difference between one team and the other team, when we had the chance to score we missed and they scored. Against this kind of team one mistake is one goal.

"When they made mistakes and we had the chance to score we didn't. We try every time to learn with the situations and not allow the counter attacks with this kind of team.

"We created six clear chances to score, maybe. We will recover, prepare the next game with the same spirit but increasing the level. The team tried to be compact, it tried to pressure them in the right moments.

"I am proud of the players, we will recover and think about the next game."

  11. 'Records are things to enjoy after your career'published at 22:11 Greenwich Mean Time 15 January

    FT: Newcastle 3-0 Wolves

    Newcastle United

Alexander Isak, speaking to MOTD: "I feel amazing. Individually I feel free and confident but looking at the team we are doing so well as well, defending and with threats going forward. It is a team and I have to keep contributing with goals.

"When we play at our best the players will feel free. In my position as well I want to be able to express myself in the best way I can.

"Records are things you enjoy after your career. I go into every game with the same mentality - to score goals as that helps the team.

"I wouldn't say. It is about the team. We have been really good. I am happy to be a part of it."

  12. 'Nowhere near good enough'published at 22:10 Greenwich Mean Time 15 January

    Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou told TNT Sports: "Nowhere near good enough, especially in the first half. We were too passive. We let Arsenal dictate the game. Second half was a little better not nowhere near good enough. Not acceptable.

"Ultimately the responsibilty lies with me and how I prepare the players.

"I'm more interested in how we play and we were not anywhere near the levels today.

"Go back to work and prepare for a tough game.

"Of course they [defeats] hurt me. Not acceptable. Too many losses this year. Too many games getting away from us. It needs to stop.

"No other way of looking at it. If you give up now, there's no point. Right now we have a big game against Everton this weekned. That's our focus."

  13. 'We have to be critical of our performance'published at 22:07 Greenwich Mean Time 15 January

    FT: Leicester 0-2 Crystal Palace

    Crystal Palace

Crystal Palace boss Oliver Glasner speaking to BBC Match of the Day: "I don't think so. We are pleased with the three points and the clean sheet. We have to be critical of our performance in the first half. It was a little bit louder in the dressing room and the players showed a good reaction. We have to improve our performance.

"We were more aggressive. I told the players and showed them clips about tactical adjustments. We were just jogging about the pitch and this is what we showed them. We did it better in the second half but still not our top level. We can't be happy with the performance in the first half.

"The whole situation was great. In this situation, Sarr was in the right position and we need runs in behind. First half we didn't have anyone in behind. We know when Mateta gets the ball in the box, it's very often a goal.

"We had the worst start in the Premier League history of Crystal Palace and now it's the opposite. We are always humble. We are compact in our shape most of the time but we need to improve our performance and reduce our easy mistakes."

  14. 'We have big targets'published at 22:06 Greenwich Mean Time 15 January

    Newcastle United

Newcastle's Sven Botman, speaking to PLP: "It is always nice to have people who can make goals out of nowhere.

"I am very happy for Alexander Isak [to score in eight Premier League games in a row]. The record for the Premier League is a bit higher so he should be looking at that now.

"The season is long but we have big targets. If we want to reach that you can see other teams are winning as well."

  15. 'Proud'published at 22:05 Greenwich Mean Time 15 January

    FT: Newcastle 3-0 Wolves

    Wolverhampton Wanderers

Wolves boss Vitor Pereira, speaking to TNT Sports: "I am proud of my players and my team.

"This is a difficult team playing at home. We created a lot of chances to score, the difference was they scored in the key moments of the game and we missed the goals.

"For a team like us creating six or seven chances to score but we didn't score, this is the frustration we feel. But proud of my players, they tried everything.

"We tried everything, we scored a goal, it was cancelled. We had more chances but this is football.

"They tried everything to get a result."

Sometimes you have to be good defensively and take the sneaky chance when it comes.

When Spurs were breaking they never looked like getting by those two [Gabriel and Saliba] - those two were magnificent.

It was a masterclass from Gabriel and Saliba.

  18. 'I need to add quality and find a way of getting results'published at 22:02 Greenwich Mean Time 15 January

    FT: Everton 0-1 Aston Villa

    Everton

Everton manager David Moyes, speaking to Match of the Day, said: "You can definitely see over the years that the financial situation has played its part on the pitch and that's the outcome. All the supporters are aware of that.

"There was very little in the game, they had a couple of chances which we were fortunate with. We needed a better control of the game, a better level of possession. We didn't deliver at set pieces and we had six or seven corners and a good chance at the end. The game was really tight, just a slight lax allowed them to score.

"Obviously it's been a bit of a whirlwind. Sean Dyche left a group of players that have great character and a great attitude, I'm really pleased to take over that. What I need to do is add quality and find a way of getting results but you can't change the whole thing around straight away.

"Tonight we were the same as Aston Villa. The one at the end [for Dominic Calvert-Lewin] was a chance and Jesper [Lindstrom] should've scored with his header as well but you need those moments to go for you."

On the need to strengthen in the transfer window, Moyes added: "I think it's really important if we can add some of that quality and give the players a little lift as well. The crowd were good but I can sense them saying 'we've seen a lot of this before, we need to see something else'."

Crystal Palace captain Marc Guehi speaking to TNT Sports about Jean-Philippe Mateta: "He's been fantastic. He trains first class every day. We've got a really good squad and I'm so happy."

On his goal: "That one wasn't actually planned, it was off the cuff. We practice set-pieces a lot but that one was just instinctive. Eze has the quality to deliver."

Crystal Palace defender Chris Richards speaking to the world feed: "We've had a few sicknesses the last few weeks but it's no excuse. We're very determined and we're a team that plays for each other. Every time we step on the pitch, we want the three points.

"At half-time, we were very disappointed with ourselves but it was probably the worst half we've played all season."

On Trevoh Chalobah being recalled by Chelsea: "We've had good players and even better people and Trevoh is one of those people. He will be missed."
