John Dunthorne: Liverpool slow, casual actually sloppy. At risk here.

  2. DISALLOWED GOAL FOR LEIPZIGpublished at 20:27 British Summer Time

    RB Leipzig 0-0 Liverpool

Oh my, what a stunning hit that was from Lois Openda!

Xavi Simons does well to find the striker and he rips it straight into the top corner, but the flag goes up for offside.

Manchester City have a corner and Ilkay Gundogan, making his 100th Champions League appearance, aims for Erling Haaland at the back post but it's headed away.

Pep Guardiola is pacing his technical area. Pondering how to get that second goal, no doubt.

  4. 'Surprised by how poor Liverpool have been'published at 20:24 British Summer Time

    RB Leipzig 0-0 Liverpool

    Stephen Warnock
Former Liverpool defender on MOTD: UEFA Champions League

I’m surprised by just how poor Liverpool have been so far. They don't look comfortable on the ball, and they still have this problem in midfield whenever they lose it.

Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai are too far forward so it means Ryan Gravenberch is isolated whenever Leipzig win possession back.

  5. 'Rico very intelligent'published at 20:24 British Summer Time

    Man City 1-0 Sparta Prague

    Glenn Hoddle
Former England and Tottenham manager on TNT Sports

Really good running off the ball there from Rico Lewis.

Rico is a very, very intelligent footballer for his age.

You can play him anywhere and you know you're going to get a really good steady performance from him.

  6. 'A clear yellow card'published at 20:24 British Summer Time

    RB Leipzig 0-0 Liverpool

    Pat Nevin
Former Everton winger on BBC Radio 5 Live

The referee thought about it for a minute. That's a tackle from behind and it's a clear yellow card.

  7. YELLOW CARDpublished at 20:24 British Summer Time

    RB Leipzig 0-0 Liverpool

A third booking already! This time it's Lutsharel Geertruida on his Dutch team-mate Cody Gakpo. Looked like a sore one but Gakpo is up.

Might be frosty the next time the Dutch squad gets together!

  8. Kane levels for Bayernpublished at 20:23 British Summer Time

    Barcelona 1-1 Bayern Munich

Bayern Munich and Harry Kane finally get their goal!

This one will count as Michael Olise sprays a pass out to Serge Gnabry on the left. The ex-West Brom loannee puts in a great cross and Kane brilliantly converts at the back post.

  9. Postpublished at 20:23 British Summer Time

    Man City 1-0 Sparta Prague

Savinho spies Rico Lewis flying past him on the overlap and the England full-back sends one to the back post but Erling Haaland's can't quite get his header on target.

Lewis has been an integral cog in the Manchester City machine so far this season.

That booking for Mac Allister might be one of the worst ref decisions I've ever seen. What was he watching?

  11. 'Sesko should be disappointed'published at 20:20 British Summer Time

    RB Leipzig 0-0 Liverpool

    Pat Nevin
Former Everton winger on BBC Radio 5 Live

Awful goalkeeping. Just clear it! Kelleher didn't get it out and Sesko had a chance.

I think Sesko should be disappointed that he doesn't get it on target.

  12. Postpublished at 20:20 British Summer Time

    RB Leipzig 0-0 Liverpool

Caoimhin Kelleher fancies himself as a bit of an outfield player but he makes a mess of his clearing header wide right.

Benjamin Sesko, who we know is more than capable of scoring a worldie, tries a kind of curled, dipping effort but it's just wide.

  13. Postpublished at 20:20 British Summer Time

    Man City 1-0 Sparta Prague

Lovely football in the little pockets from Manchester City. Phil Foden lays it off for Erling Haaland but the Norwegian's shot is blocked.

Crucial block, it was going towards the top corner.

  14. Postpublished at 20:18 British Summer Time

    Man City 1-0 Sparta Prague

Brilliant run on the counter attack from Angelo Preciado. He bursts pasts the Manchester City defence and spots Stegan Ortega off his line but his looping shot from 30-yards out is a bit too ambitious.

  15. Liverpool lacking balance in midfieldpublished at 20:17 British Summer Time

    RB Leipzig 0-0 Liverpool

    Stephen Warnock
Former Liverpool defender on MOTD: UEFA Champions League

The way Liverpool are set up in midfield, with Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai further forward than Ryan Gravenberch, when they lose the ball they are quite open.

They maybe need to drop Mac Allister back in so they are a bit flatter in the middle, or get Trent Alexander-Arnold to move in there, because at the moment they have not got the balance right in midfield.

You can hear more from Warnock on MOTD: Uefa Champions League at 22:40 BST on BBC One and the BBC Sport website and app.

  16. Feyenoord lead at Benficapublished at 20:17 British Summer Time

    Benfica 0-1 Feyenoord

    A goal in Portugal.

Feyenoord get the opener through a crisp Ayase Ueda strike, avenging his penalty miss from his last Champions League match.

Benfica are stunned. They'd had all of the ball up until now, and come into this one having beaten Atletico Madrid superbly in their last European match.

  17. Postpublished at 20:16 British Summer Time

    RB Leipzig 0-0 Liverpool

    Pat Nevin
Former Everton winger on BBC Radio 5 Live

    RB Leipzig look well.

Lois Openda stays the furthest forward and Benjamin Sesko is a clever player - they work well off each other.

It looks old fashioned, but it works well.

Liverpool haven't got Mo Salah, Darwin Nunez or Cody Gakpo on the ball. I'm convinced that Leipzig can't keep this up for the entirety of the game.

  18. Alvarez pounces to put Atletico aheadpublished at 20:16 British Summer Time

    Atletico Madrid 1-0 Lille

It's been a bright start for Atletico Madrid against Lille.

Alexander Sorloth should have put Atletico ahead inside two minutes when he found himself through on goal with only the goalkeeper to beat - only for his chipped effort to drift well wide.

But Diego Simeone didn't have to wait long to see his side score the opener with ex-Manchester City forward Julian Alvarez pouncing on a mistake from Ousmane Toure.

  19. Postpublished at 20:15 British Summer Time

    Man City 1-0 Sparta Prague

It's all Manchester City at the moment. Sparta Prague just can't get out of their own half. Czech newspaper Denik described City team as the "hardest nut to crack" this week.

    Not wrong.

  20. Kane leveller ruled out!published at 20:15 British Summer Time

    Barcelona 1-0 Bayern Munich

Harry Kane heads the ball and scores an eventually disallowed goalImage source, Getty Images

Bayern Munich have the ball in the back of the net through England captain Harry Kane - but it's not going to count!

It comes from a brilliant move as Vincent Kompany's side work the ball from the edge of their own box up the field. Thomas Muller picks things up on the right and he plays in a fabulous cross for Kane who heads in.

But Kane timed his run a fraction too early and VAR chalks it off!
