  1. How can Hibs stem tide?published at 15:28 British Summer Time 18 August

    Celtic 2-0 Hibernian

    Scott Allan
Former Celtic & Hibernian midfielder on BBC Sportsound

It's not a nice feeling for Hibs. Martin Boyle maybe has to start going into the channels to try to use his pace to get Hibs up the park.

Right now, it's wave after wave of Celtic attacks.

  2. Postpublished at 15:27 British Summer Time 18 August

    Celtic 2-0 Hibernian

Matt O'Riley curls a shot on target, but it's a comfortable one for Hibs goalkeeper Josef Bursik.

Those long Lewis Miller throw-ins in the first minute will feel a long time ago for the travelling Hibs fans.

  3. Celtic fans smilingpublished at 15:24 British Summer Time 18 August

    Celtic 2-0 Hibernian

    Kheredine Idessane
    BBC Scotland at Celtic Park

There is warm applause all around the stadium whenever Celtic come forward. Which they're doing in droves.

The home fans have every reason to be happy. Even without star striker Kyogo, they have a very firm foot in the quarter-final draw later this afternoon.

They've scored eight goals so far this season without conceding one and the style of football is just what the supporters were asking for last season.

Early days, of course, but it already looks like Celtic will take some stopping domestically this term.

  4. Mixed reception for Wattpublished at 15:22 British Summer Time 18 August

    Motherwell 0-0 Kilmarnock

    Andy Burke
BBC Sport Scotland at Fir Park

Plenty of cheers but definitely more than a few boos from the home fans as Tony Watt, alongside fellow new recruit Tawanda Maswanhise, comes on for his second Motherwell debut.

Many of them are still sore at the manner of Watt's departure to Dundee United two years ago.

A goal to break the deadlock here would go a long way to winning them back around.

  5. Celtic in cruise controlpublished at 15:21 British Summer Time 18 August

    Celtic 2-0 Hibernian

    Kheredine Idessane
    BBC Scotland at Celtic Park

This could very quickly cease to be much of a competition here.

Celtic were two goals up at Easter Road last week. They've a similar after only 16 here at home.

An early double for deadly Daizen Maeda, who, on this evidence, will be quite some competition for the main striking role for Messrs Idah and Kyogo.

It may also raise a pleasant question for the manager and board: do they really need another striker with Maeda in this form, Idah just signed and Kyogo taking care of that shoulder?

  6. All change for Buddiespublished at 15:21 British Summer Time 18 August

    Dundee United 1-0 St Mirren

    Martin Dowden
    BBC Sport Scotland at Tannadice

Stephen Robinson has reacted to the scoreline, sensing fresh legs are required.

Jonah Ayunga, James Scott and Jaden Brown have all come on to try and get something going in the final third. It's too comfortable right now for United, albeit their lead is slender.

  7. Watt and Maswanhise debutspublished at 15:20 British Summer Time 18 August

    Motherwell 0-0 Kilmarnock

Not quite five changes, but it's a couple of big ones for Motherwell.

Dan Casey and Davor Zdravkovski are off with new signings Tony Watt and Tawanda Maswanhise on.

Returning striker Tony Watt's name rings round Fir Park. Like he's never been away...

  9. Five changes for Killiepublished at 15:18 British Summer Time 18 August

    Motherwell 0-0 Kilmarnock

With Kilmarnock down to 10-men, manager Derek McInnes shuffles the pack and it's bold.

He brings on Oliver Bainbridge, Matty Kennedy, Brad Lyons, Lewis Mayo and captain Kyle Vassell.

Off go Liam Polworth, Marley Watkins, Gary Mackay-Steven, Joe Wright and Bruce Anderson.

  10. GOAL Celtic 2-0 Hibernianpublished at 15:17 British Summer Time 18 August

    Daizen Maeda

It's two - for Celtic and Daizen Maeda!

It's been coming. Nicolas Kuhn again stretches the play and his ball for Maeda gets in behind Rocky Bushiri.

The striker uses his pace to get to the ball, then strength and poise to hold off Marvin Ekpiteta and prod the ball into the net.

    Celtic GOAL
  11. YELLOW CARD Olusanya (St Mirren)published at 15:16 British Summer Time 18 August

    Dundee United 1-0 St Mirren

Now it's Toyosi Olusanya into the book for a dive on the edge of the box.

That's according to referee John Beaton, anyway. To me, that looks incredibly harsh.

  12. Postpublished at 15:16 British Summer Time 18 August

    Celtic 1-0 Hibernian

    Celtic look seriously impressive.

The speed at which they are moving the ball is too much for Hibs right now.

Reo Hatate floats a brilliant pass over the top for Matt O'Riley, who makes a superb run.

The midfielder cushions it across goal for Daizen Maeda, but Hibs centre-back Marvin Ekpiteta gets back to intercept.

  13. Changing Taylorspublished at 15:15 British Summer Time 18 August

    Dundee United 1-0 St Mirren

One Taylor for another, as Richard replaces Fraser on the latter's full debut.

Seemingly quite a defensive change that for St Mirren.

  14. Hibs fans banging the drumpublished at 15:13 British Summer Time 18 August

    Celtic 1-0 Hibernian

    Kheredine Idessane
    BBC Scotland at Celtic Park

The travelling Hibs support is still in decent fettle despite watching their side go a goal behind in under five minutes.

How do I know this? They've been allowed into Celtic Park with a drum - and they're not sparing it.

There is a constant, and extremely loud, percussion accompaniment to this game. It's not gone unnoticed here in the press box among a few of my colleagues.

  15. Postpublished at 15:11 British Summer Time 18 August

    Celtic 1-0 Hibernian

The long right leg of Hibs centre-half Rocky Bushiri cuts out Matt O'Riley's cross and prevents Daizen Maeda getting another shot on goal.

After that two-minute burst at the beginning of the game, Hibs have been pinned right back by Celtic.

  16. YELLOW CARD Will Ferry (Dundee United)published at 15:11 British Summer Time 18 August

    Dundee United 1-0 St Mirren

And now a yellow card for Will Ferry as he scythes down a scurrying Toyosi Olusanya.

That's three United players in the book, all for fouls on the same St Mirren striker.

  17. RED CARD Stuart Findlay (Kilmarnock)published at 15:10 British Summer Time 18 August

    Motherwell 0-0 Kilmarnock

Kilmarnock are down to 10 - again!

Centre-half Stuart Findlay with his second yellow of the game.

He catches Paul McGinn late out on the left-flank of the Kilmarnock defence.

Cannot be lunging in like that on a booking...and he follows Joe Wright, who was red carded last weekend.

  18. Maeda off to a flyerpublished at 15:09 British Summer Time 18 August

    Celtic 1-0 Hibernian

    Kheredine Idessane
    BBC Scotland at Celtic Park

I suggested to manager Brendan Rodgers that one Japanese international (Daizen Maeda) would deputise for another today up front (Kyogo Furuhashi).

"You'll see," he told me. Well, it's only taken Maeda four minutes or so to make an impact, stroking Celtic in front.

This could be a very long afternoon for Hibs, who'd actually looked threatening in the few minutes prior to that.

Party atmosphere already building here at Celtic Park.

  19. YELLOW CARD Ross Graham (Dundee United)published at 15:08 British Summer Time 18 August

    Dundee United 1-0 St Mirren

An early yellow card in the second-half, as Ross Graham leads with an elbow on Toyosi Olusanya right on the edge of the box.

Big chance now for Oisin Smyth, 25 yards from goal.

The St Mirren midfielder powers it with the inside of his foot but doesn't get the dip required. Over the bar.

  20. YELLOW CARD Dan Casey (Motherwell)published at 15:07 British Summer Time 18 August

    Motherwell 0-0 Kilmarnock

Dan Casey hits the deck rather theatrically.

A dive in the eyes of referee Nick Walsh and the home defender is in the book.
