    Dundee United 1-0 St Mirren

    Martin Dowden
    BBC Sport Scotland at Tannadice

St Mirren are trying to throw everything at this to get back in the tie, but they just can't create that decisive opening.

United are holding firm, protecting that slender lead and looking to end the contest on the counter.

  2. YELLOW CARD Lyons (Kilmarnock)published at 15:46 British Summer Time 18 August

    Motherwell 0-0 Kilmarnock

The home fans are crying out for another red card.

Brad Lyons flies into a tackle in the middle of the park and clearly wins the ball, but it's all about the follow-through.

Nick Walsh calms things down before showing just a yellow.

Minutes are ticking away. Will Kilmarnock boss Derek McInnes really be wanting his players going through another 30 minutes of play?

  3. Postpublished at 15:45 British Summer Time 18 August

    Motherwell 0-0 Kilmarnock

Motherwell boss Stuart Kettlewell is shown a yellow card for not giving Kilmarnock midfielder David Watson the ball to take a throw-in.

Give the laddie his ball back, Stuart!

  4. New energy about Hibspublished at 15:43 British Summer Time 18 August

    Celtic 2-1 Hibernian

    Kheredine Idessane
    BBC Scotland at Celtic Park

After scoring that goal to give themselves hope - and surviving a VAR check for a penalty shortly thereafter - there's a renewed surge of energy and belief coursing through Hibs at the moment.

Can they take advantage? Much better game now. It's a proper contest.

  5. Well pressing hardpublished at 15:43 British Summer Time 18 August

    Motherwell 0-0 Kilmarnock

    Andy Burke
BBC Sport Scotland at Fir Park

Motherwell are really pushing for the opening goal and you sense one goal would do it at this stage.

Tawanda Maswanhise has been very bright since he came on. The debutant's positive in everything he does

He can go both ways, he's got a trick in him and he's giving the Killie defenders a lot to think about.

  6. 'What a finish'published at 15:43 British Summer Time 18 August

    Celtic 2-1 Hibernian

    Scott Allan
Former Celtic & Hibernian midfielder on BBC Sportsound

It just shows you the importance of set pieces, especially away at a difficult venue. It's a brilliant cross from Martin Boyle and what a finish.

  7. Postpublished at 15:42 British Summer Time 18 August

    Motherwell 0-0 Kilmarnock

Lennon Miller tries to tuck a shot in at the near post right in the corner, but Kilmarnock goalkeeper Kieran O'Hara is down quick to collect.

  8. Docherty and Sutherland onpublished at 15:42 British Summer Time 18 August

    Dundee United 1-0 St Mirren

Ross Docherty is on for United as he makes his return from injury.

The midfielder spent large parts of 2024 on the sidelines, so Jim Goodwin will be delighted to get his captain back.

Meanwhile, Ethan Sutherland has replaced Marcus Fraser, with the 18-year-old winger only making his third first-team appearance.

  9. PENALTY APPEALpublished at 15:41 British Summer Time 18 August

    Celtic 2-1 Hibernian

James Forrest surges into the Hibs box and hits the deck as Marvin Ekpiteta and Joe Newell attempt to stop the Celtic winger.

A corner is awarded and we have a quick VAR check. No penalty.

  10. Postpublished at 15:39 British Summer Time 18 August

    Motherwell 0-0 Kilmarnock

Motherwell have dominated the ball since Kilmarnock have gone down to 10, but they're not doing enough with it.

Ten minutes to go and extra-time looks destined.

  11. Just what the game neededpublished at 15:39 British Summer Time 18 August

    Celtic 2-1 Hibernian

    Kheredine Idessane
    BBC Scotland at Celtic Park

Brilliant goal from Hibs. It's also what this game needed.

A goal to bring Hibs back into it and give Celtic at least something to think about.

Oh, and that drummer? They just got a whole lot louder.

  12. GOAL Celtic 2-1 Hibernianpublished at 15:37 British Summer Time 18 August

    Mykola Kuharevich

    Out of absolutely nothing!

Mykola Kuharevich is bulldozed to the ground by Cameron Carter-Vickers, who picks up a booking.

Martin Boyle swings in the resulting free kick and Kuharevich produces a brilliant diving header that loops up and into the net.

    Brilliant. Game on.

  13. Postpublished at 15:35 British Summer Time 18 August

    Celtic 2-0 Hibernian

Hibs finally get forward down the left as Jordan Obita canters into a big space.

The full-back gets a cross in, but it's straight down the throat of goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel (remember him?).

  14. Triple Well changepublished at 15:34 British Summer Time 18 August

    Motherwell 0-0 Kilmarnock

Moses Ebiye, Tom Sparow and Marvin Kaleta are on for the hosts.

Andy Halliday, Zach Robinson and Steve Seddon depart.

Goalkeeper Kieran O'Hara is back on his feet for Kilmarnock.

  15. Maeda on a hat-trickpublished at 15:34 British Summer Time 18 August

    Celtic 2-0 Hibernian

    Kheredine Idessane
    BBC Scotland at Celtic Park

The peroxide-blonde haired Daizen Maeda very nearly claimed a hat-trick inside half an hour.

Celtic's creative players are finding far too much space.

Callum McGregor, Matt O'Riley and Reo Hatate are totally dictating in midfield, while Nicolas Kuhn, Maeda and James Forrest are full of energy and movement.

No contest really - so far. Can Hibs find any sort of answer to this? They're playing with a back five and still Celtic are in acres of room.

  16. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 15:33 British Summer Time 18 August

    Dundee United 1-0 St Mirren

United hit the crossbar for the third time in this game - but did it cross the line?

Kristijan Trapanovski slips Louis Moult through on goal with a fantastic slide pass.

The substitute striker skips past his marker, on to his right and rifles his shot off the underside of the bar.

It bounced on the line - or possibly over it - before spinning back out. Nothing given!

  17. ouch!

Ouch!published at 15:32 British Summer Time 18 August

    Motherwell 0-0 Kilmarnock

Kieran O'Hara has just gone down in the Kilmarnock goal.

    He looks in some pain.

Remember, Killie are down to 10 men and have already made five substitutions.

  18. Magic Maedapublished at 15:31 British Summer Time 18 August

    Celtic 2-0 Hibernian

Daizen Maeda goes close to a first-half hat-trick.

A flowing move ends with Reo Hatate reversing a pass for his Japan compatriot, who lashes a first-time shot over the bar.

    Celtic cruising. Hibs toiling.

  19. Postpublished at 15:30 British Summer Time 18 August

Plenty of changes in personnel, but no-one has managed to carve anything crafty in this mundane match.

  20. Moult on for Van der Sandepublished at 15:28 British Summer Time 18 August

    Dundee United 1-0 St Mirren

The fizz has gone out of this game a bit in the last 10 minutes. It's been a while since a goalkeeper has been tested.

Meanwhile, Jort van der Sande is off - still waiting for his first United goal - with Louis Moult coming on.
