Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp, asked whether he will be a supporter or pundit when his former club Borussia Dortmund take on Real Madrid in the Champions League final: "Supporter. Pundit, are you crazy? Really happy about that [Dortmund] because really nice to see for all the people I know there still. Big, big achievement. Nice story."

Right, from Marc Skinner and Eddie Howe, we move on to Jurgen Klopp and Mauricio Pochettino.

Liverpool manager Klopp has been talking up the skills of opposite number Unai Emery, saying the Aston Villa boss is "one of the best in the business", before Monday's game at Villa Park.

  3. 'It is part and parcel of the game'published at 10:15 10 May

Man Utd v Tottenham Hotspur (Sun, 14:30 BST)

    Manchester United

A final word from Manchester United boss Marc Skinner on how he has learned personally to deal with the disappointment of losing finals: “Naturally the experience is something nobody wants to, on a national stage, feel. It’s part of competitive sport. You grew up, mature but it never gets easier. It is part and parcel of the game though so you learn to deal with the pressures of it.

"There was an interview with Gary Neville and Eddie Howe and they talk about how managers have to be bullet-proof but we’re also human. I think it would be unnatural for me not to feel, and to not be devastated by a loss. But I’ve always known that losses make you stronger and the strength you need to succeed on the long-run is understanding how to deal with failure.

"That first final I never watched back because it hurt at that moment. You learn to deal with your emotions when you feel that. And that’s important because I’m human.”

  4. 'The crowd make a really good environment'published at 10:12 10 May

Newcastle v Brighton (Sat, 15:00 BST)

    Newcastle United

Newcastle manager Eddie Howe on their last home game this season: "Yeah we've loved playing at home this year. The crowd make a really good environment, I'm really proud of how we play at home. I think the teams look good, there's a good feel and good energy. I don't have complaints about the home form. We are thankful for the support we have received from the fans. The crowd have embraced our style. It’s been a good partnership between the crowd and the players.

"We want to be that team, that you can see is trying to make the game and trying to impose our style on the opponent in the game. We want to be progressive. I think the players delivered that really well, they have dealt with that pressure really well and the crowds have embraced our style. We want to continue working on to that next year."

  5. 'Style is what the game will need'published at 10:09 10 May

Man Utd v Tottenham (Sun, 14:30 BST)

    Manchester United

Manchester United boss Marc Skinner on changing United's style: “You have to look at what works, you have to look at form and players who have been here before and had the experience. You have to look at players who are hungry, fresh and can make the right decisions.

"As a coach, you have to constantly adapt and feel the way your players are ready to perform. Style is what the game will need. There will be times in the final where if you’re losing you throw caution to the wind, or if you’re winning you might be more reserved. I think this game will have a bit of everything for both teams. Hopefully we’ll be in a position where we can attack but I think we’ll have to have a mixture of styles.”

  6. Roberto has 'done a great job'published at 10:06 10 May

Newcastle v Brighton (Sat, 15:00 BST)

    Newcastle United

Newcastle manager Eddie Howe on Brighton: "I mean they're a good team. Roberto [de Zerbi] has done a great job, also Graham [Potter] before him. Roberto has his way of working, it's detailed and thorough. They stick to their method and they’ve become very strong at it. We didn’t get it quite right at the Amex. We hope for a better delivery tomorrow."

  7. You have the hurt of last year to push through - Skinnerpublished at 10:03 10 May

Man Utd v Tottenham (Sun, 14:30 BST)

    Manchester United

More from Manchester United boss Marc Skinner on how much last year’s final defeat will feed into this weekend: “It has to, it has to feed into it. When the hurt hits, you feel it and you can recall it, it can be an extra drive and motivating factor. That’s how you have to use it. You have to bring back those feelings and give more.

"Nobody is guaranteed to win this final but we have to give everything to make sure the performance is worthy of it. If we do that and use those experiences and feelings to drive us forwards then hopefully that will give us a little edge. That’s what you need to win the game.”

On pressure not to lose a second final: “We got to a final and lost to Chelsea. It was a bad moment for us because we wanted to win it. But you would be a fool to go in and feel super confident that you will walk this final. Tottenham are a very, very good team. On their day, they can beat anyone in this league.

"From my perspective, it’s about living in that space in between where you’re confident, know what you can do but you also have the hurt of last year to push through. If we put that mindset into place in this game then I feel we can go on to be successful. That’s all we can play for.”

  8. Joelinton and Almiron 'doing well'published at 10:00 10 May

Newcastle v Brighton (Sat, 15:00 BST)

    Newcastle United

Newcastle manager Eddie Howe on Kieran Tripper: "Kieran is getting closer, he has trained this week. It was the first time with the group. He trained well, it has been a good week for him. I will make a decision today whether he will be involved tomorrow."

On Joelinton and Miguel Almiron: "They have trained well, we have been able to get some good work into their bodies. They are still building their robustness if you like, you need the load behind you to stay fit. They are doing well."

  9. Who will Klopp have in his sights?published at 09:55 10 May

(Aston Villa v Liverpool, Mon 20:00 BST)

    Mandeep Sanghera
    BBC Sport

Jurgen Klopp had a pop at the Premier League and its broadcasters, in particular TNT Sports, last week about the fixture schedule.

There was a sense that, with Liverpool’s title challenge all-but over and the German leaving at the end of the season, the Reds boss had a few things to get off his chest.

He had a point when it came to the 12:30 kick-off slot with Liverpool having played in the early slot on Saturday six times this season compared to three for Manchester City and two for Arsenal.

It’ll be interesting to see if he has any other issues he wants to bring up when he chats to the media at 10:00 BST today.

He should be happier about his side as Liverpool looked more like themselves in a 4-2 victory against Tottenham last Sunday in their first win in three games.

Mohamed Salah also returned to some kind of form against Spurs and, while it appears too late to rescue Liverpool’s title challenge, it gave Klopp a home win to savour during the final games of his farewell.

  11. Isak 'fully deserving of the recognition'published at 09:51 10 May

Newcastle v Brighton (Sat, 15:00 BST)

    Newcastle United

Newcastle manager Eddie Howe on Alexander Isak's nomination for the Premier League player of the season: "He’s scored some great goals for us. He’s had some great performances, especially in the second half of the season. He’s fully deserving of the recognition."

On Anthony Gordon not shortlisted in the Premier League player of the season: "Yes I don’t pay too much attention to these things. I'm sure the players are aware of it. I haven't spoken to Anthony about that, he’s just got to be focused on performing well and he's been outstanding for me."

  12. 'We need to make it business-like but enjoy the moment'published at 09:48 10 May

Man Utd v Tottenham (Sun, 14:30 BST)

    Manchester United

Manchester United boss Marc Skinner on whether his sided are in a better position going into this year's final [opposed to last year, when they lost to Chelsea]: “Experience in a final is good. It’s new when you haven’t done it before. I know Tottenham have players that have experienced finals so they won’t be overawed but it can be something that absorbed you and it can affect the way you want to play.

"We have to make sure that we play the way we want to because we’ve been there and done it. It has to be a business for us. We need to make it business-like but enjoy the moment. We’ve got to Wembley. We’re playing against a team that will be buoyed by that. You get an energy when it’s your first final. But I think there are ways that you can counter-act that and we have to try to do that.

"This is an equal playing field going into it but we cannot and we will not underestimate them. Whatever tag people add to it, we know the job we have got to do.”

With regards to European schedules and the impact of the Premier League schedule on English teams competing in Europe: 1. The schedules/number of games are more or less the same for every side that plays in Europe (within a 20-team setup). 2. But...where they do have a point is in the finer details - the kick-off times on the day. The operations of football is intense. Stress of travel does take its toll and can hugely upset routine. A little bit more empathy and understanding from the FA/EPL would no doubt go a long way to help teams in Europe.

    Nick, VWGS

After the results this season it will hopefully put an end to all the "farmers league" comments aimed at every other league in Europe, as well as the "best league in the world" nonsense [in reference to the Premier League].

  14. 'If we can add silverware that would be hugely important'published at 09:40 10 May

Man Utd v Tottenham (Sun, 14:30 BST)

    Manchester United

Manchester United boss Marc Skinner, whose side are fifth in the Women's Super League with one match remaining, on whether it would be a successful season if they win the FA Cup: "We’re adding silverware to Manchester United so I think that’s successful wherever you are as a club.

"There are things we will learn from this season that I already know the answers to that we can fix in the summer, I have no doubts about that. When you’re at the end of the season, you want to finish it in the best way you can. We have two finals to go – one at Old Trafford [in the WSL against Chelsea] and obviously the one at Wembley this weekend. Of course, if we add silverware… it will be difficult.

"We’re pretty humble people and Tottenham deserve to be in the final and not have the ‘underdog status'. If you get to a final, you deserve to be in the final. From our perspective, if we can add silverware for our fans then I think that would be hugely important going forwards.”

  16. Leverkusen's unbeaten runpublished at 09:32 10 May

Bayer Leverkusen 2-2 Roma (4-2 on agg)

Bayer Leverkusen's late, late show against Roma made it 49 successive games without defeat in all competitions, including 40 victories.

It means Leverkusen, who were knocked out by Roma at the semi-final stage of the Europa League last season, bettered the unbeaten run the Eusebio-led Benfica side managed between December 1963 and February 1965.

That feat by the Portuguese giants was the longest unbeaten run since the advent of European competition, according to Uefa - until this remarkable Leverkusen campaign.

Can Xabi Alonso's side keep that run going to the end of the season?

They have two Bundesliga matches remaining before the Europa League final against Atalanta, then finish off their campaign with the German DFB Cup final against Kaiserslautern on 25 May.

Bayer Leverkusen set a new European unbeaten record of 49 successive games in securing a late draw with Roma to reach the Europa League final.

Josip Stanisic scored with the last kick of the game in the 97th minute to earn Xabi Alonso's side a 2-2 draw on the night and a 4-2 aggregate victory.

Roma, who had lost the first leg in Italy but were much improved in Germany, drew level in the tie through two Leandro Paredes penalties.

But a disastrous own goal from Gianluca Mancini handed Leverkusen the crucial advantage in the two-legged semi-final - before Croatia defender Stanisic ensured history with the latest in a long line of Leverkusen late goals.

All three finals could provide a moment of history:

Could Bayer Leverkusen go through an entire season unbeaten?

Could Olympiakos become the first Greek side to win a European final?

Could Real Madrid be crowned European champions for a record-extending 15th time?

There is also a scenario whereby, if Atalanta and Fiorentina both win their respective finals, there could be NINE Serie A sides competing in Europe next season...
