According to the Mirror, Manchester United's players fear that they will not win another game this season.

They have three matches remaining in the Premier League - at home to Arsenal (Sunday) and Newcastle (Wednesday) and at Brighton on the final day (19 May) - as well as the small matter of the FA Cup final against rivals Manchester City.

This season has been amazing, if you had offered this to any Villa fan at the start they would have absolutely taken it. Fair play to Olympiakos, one game too many for us. And if Spurs can't beat Man City we are Champions League bound. Disappointed but happy.

Tottenham booked their place in the Women's FA Cup final courtesy of Martha Thomas winner two minutes from the end of extra time in a 2-1 victory over Leicester City.

Even before the ball hit the back of the net, Thomas says she experienced a feeling she wants to bottle up for the rest of her football career.

The Tottenham striker's dramatic 118th-minute header sent her side into their first ever final - but she knew she would score.

"I just felt 'I need to put the ball in the back of the net' and it sounds cliché but when it popped up in the air and I saw the defender there, I knew I was going to beat her to it," Thomas told BBC Sport.

"It would be so nice to get that feeling all the time but it’s not something you can force.

"It meant the world. To win that game and get to the final was huge. You could see the pride and emotions on everyone’s faces afterwards."

"I have to accept it and we have to understand our process - how we can improve and get a lot of information, to try to continue in our way," said Aston Villa manager Unai Emery, following their 2-0 loss in Olympiakos, which condemned them to a 6-2 defeat on aggregate in the Europa Conference League semi-finals.

"They were clinical more than us, meaning we had more chances but we didn't score.

  12. Klopp’s ‘penultimate’ game as Liverpool bosspublished at 08:01 10 May

(Aston Villa v Liverpool, Mon 20:00 BST)

    BBC Sport

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp liked the word ‘penultimate’ last week when BBC Radio Merseyside’s Mike Hughes asked him about his penultimate home game prior to the win against Tottenham at Anfield last Sunday.

“Ooh, penultimate, thank you very much,” said Klopp. “I cannot remember that word now already.”

It’ll be Klopp’s penultimate game in charge of the Reds against Aston Villa on Monday before the German disappears into the Premier League sunset at the end of the season.

Klopp is scheduled to speak to the media this morning so let’s see if he remembers the word penultimate if someone brings it up.

Both James and David make the point that Aston Villa - along with other English teams in Europe - have been hindered by the Premier League schedule, in contrast to sides from other countries.

Do you think they have a point?

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp made the same point recently, after the Reds' defeat to Atalanta in the Europa League quarter-finals.

Speaking of Klopp, we will be hearing from him at around 10am as he previews Monday's league match at Villa...

Villa fan. Huge learnings from first Euro campaign in a decade. Unlike Newcastle, who were straight in at Champions League level and in a tough group, this Conference League was a good entry level experience for Villa. Whether it’s Europa League or Champions League [next season], we will get stronger. But note to all. In the last two rounds the French and Greek clubs did not play in between their quarter/semi-finals. We need to support our teams too.

    James

Proud of this Villa team and everything they've achieved this season. Losing to a team who play in the Champions League regularly is no shame. You could tell Olympiakos were fresher (they were given the weekend off). We take this experience and use it to drive us next season.

  15. European exit a 'learning curve' for Villa - McGinnpublished at 07:50 10 May

Olympiakos 2-0 Aston Villa (agg 6-2)

John McGinn believes Aston Villa's Europa Conference League campaign has been a "learning curve" despite suffering a semi-final exit to Olympiakos.

Villa travelled to the Karaiskakis Stadium needing a memorable turnaround, having lost the first leg 4-2 on home soil, but were unable to overturn the deficit.

"I think it has been a big learning curve for us," McGinn told TNT Sports. "It's not been a smooth journey.

"We got to the semi-final and were down to the bare bones a wee bit. However, those of us that were out there across the two legs lost to the better team, and the scoreline shows that."

  17. 'It will be even better next year'published at 07:39 10 May

Olympiakos 2-0 Aston Villa (agg 6-2)

    BBC Radio 5 Live

“It’s always going to be an uphill battle going away into a place where there’s an amazing atmosphere," said Aston Villa fan Louis Mitchell on BBC Radio 5 Live Breakfast, following their 6-2 defeat on aggregate to Olympiakos in the Europa Conference League semi-final.

"They’re a good team. There was a lot of optimism in the stand especially after the first five minutes – putting pressure on, Ollie Watkins has a good chance, Matty Cash wins a corner off their player…we never really recovered momentum from there.

"Lots of players lost their heart a bit. Moussa Diaby never looked comfortable in the game and he struggled in that number 10 role where he was trying to get in between the lines and receive the ball and kept giving the ball away.

"Credit to them because they really did a job on us…fair play, we gave them a round of applause as well. We were well beaten and I think it’s fair enough that you recognise that and their fans there really appreciated that from us as well.

“People get reactionary on Twitter saying what a disgraceful performance…but really it’s been an amazing season. Everyone who’s a Villa fan would have taken where we are within striking distance of the Champions League and a European semi-final. I think they’ll not be so naïve against these kinds of opponents [next season] so it will be even better next year.”

  19. Villa out as Olympiakos reach Conference League finalpublished at 07:26 10 May

Olympiakos 2-0 Aston Villa (agg 6-2)

    Joe Rindl
    BBC Sport

Aston Villa's Europa Conference League run ended at the semi-final stage as opponents Olympiakos set up a final with Fiorentina.

Having lost the first leg 4-2, Villa fell to a 2-0 defeat in Greece to lose their tie 6-2 on aggregate.

Ayoub El Kaabi - who scored a hat-trick in the first leg - opened the scoring in Piraeus, tapping in Marin Ruiz's low cross in the 10th minute against the run of play.

Unai Emery's side dominated possession but lacked composure in the final third.

And El Kaabi benefitted from a tight offside call to double his tally with eight minutes remaining, latching on to a long pass forward before burying a shot beyond Villa goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez.

Villa were hoping to reach their first European final since Tony Barton's team won the European Cup in 1982.

Instead, Olympiakos will play in their first European final at the home of rivals AEK Athens on 29 May.

And there will be no English club in a European final for the first time in four seasons.
