    Aston Villa

It looks like Aston Villa are going to change their goalkeeper before the start of the second-half. Robin Olsen is getting ready to come on.

Is Emi Martinez injured - or has he been hooked after that poor first half?

That is Marcus Rashford at his very very best. His speed is stunning. He flies through, it's only 20 seconds from the start of the second-half.

Superb run, great timing and a calm finish.

    Marcus Rashford

And straight away Marcus Rashford scores his second of the afternoon...

Everton lump the ball forward from the kick-off and it's headed back into the midfield area.

It's played up to Joshua Zirkzee, who flicks round the corner for Amad Diallo.

He has acres of space to run into, and he slots through for Marcus Rashford, who fires through Jordan Pickford.

That goal comes about 20 seconds into the second period.

Having a discussion with a mate. He thinks Rashford should be starting up top for United, I think Rashford is woefully out of form and it should be Hojlund (even despite Rashford's goal today - apart from that he's been poor). Can we have thumbs up for Rashford, thumbs down for Hojlund?

  9. 'The impact of defeat is massive' - what to look out for in Liverpool v Man Citypublished at 14:31 Greenwich Mean Time 1 December 2024

The Football News Show: Why a settled defence won't cure Manchester City's poor form

The meeting between Liverpool and Manchester City later could have a huge impact on the Premier League title.

The gap between the rivals could be 11 points if the game at Anfield goes to the form book.

Leaders Liverpool have won 17 of their 19 games under Arne Slot, while struggling City - now down to fourth in the table - had lost five in a row before blowing a 3-0 lead to draw with Feyenoord in their midweek Champions League encounter.

"Considering they were first and second going into the weekend, the unique thing about Sunday's game, really, is that all the pressure is on City," said BBC pundit Danny Murphy.

"For City, the impact of a defeat is massive, but so would be the impact of a win. All of a sudden the champions would be back, and there would be a huge shift in confidence and belief for them, because it keeps their season alive. It is massive for them.

"For Liverpool, if you break it down, while it will be another great result if they win, and disappointing if they lose, this is actually one of those weird occasions where it is almost like a free hit, and they can almost enjoy it."

I have to say I think this place went very quiet up until the first goal. As soon as that happened, Everton who were slightly for my mind the better team, fell out of it. The confidence soared in this place after that but the manager won't be scammed by that because until that happened, they weren't playing that well.

This weekend marks the 11th Rainbow Laces campaign for LGBTQ+ inclusion in the Premier League, marked by Spurs with a special rainbow-coloured logo on the front of their matchday programme.

Inside the programme, Spurs manager Ange Postecoglou says in his notes: "Quite simply, football is for everyone.

"I know the hard work the club puts in, together with Proud Lilywhites to ensure that is the case here and that Tottenham Hotspur Stadium is a safe and welcoming space.

"In the dressing room we talk a lot about family, unity and togetherness - and whether it's on or off the pitch, Spurs is a family that is inclusive to all".

The demands on the Aston Villa squad and the depth to deal with the Champions league - that demands the highest standard.

Right now, they are finding it really difficult and they're struggling to adapt to it.

A rare chance for Aston Villa at the end of the first half but Ollie Watkins' attempt - after good work by Jaden Philogene - is tame and Robert Sanchez is able to make a comfortable save.

Watkins should have done better with that.
