Ignoring formations, tactics, whatever. All of United's starting 11 and half the bench are international footballers. They should be able to do the basics to a high level regardless of the coaching so they need a long hard look at themselves.

    Manchester United 0-1 Ipswich Town

Ipswich right-back Axel Tuanzebe, only just back after a suspension following a red card in the 1-1 draw at Aston Villa, clatters into Alejandro Garnacho and is lucky to escape with just a warning against his former club.

He was at United up until 2023, working his way up from the academy, and scored a penalty in the Europa League final shootout in 2021, which United lost 11-10 to a Villarreal side managed by Unai Emery.

And the first big chance of the game comes as a cross finds Yoane Wissa but his header is straight at Jordan Pickford.

    Good goal.

Jeremy Doku has been getting at Pedro Porro. Porro is giving Doku too much space.

Rolled into Erling Haaland, and it was a tidy finish.

    Nottingham Forest 0-0 Arsenal

Arsenal midfielder Declan Rice has a pop from about 22 yards out which hits a Forest man and goes behind for a corner. The game started to liven up a bit.

Arsenal trying to work an opening but Jurrien Timber is tackled as he shoots.

Forest counter and Gabriel slides in to stop Chris Wood in the box. The hosts really are a phenomenal team on the break.

Man City switch the ball out well to Jeremy Doku, who has far too much time and can play with his head up.

And Erling Haaland won't find a simpler goal than that. Kevin Danso is caught ball watching and you can't give Haaland that much space and time. It was poor defending from Tottenham.

    Tottenham 0-1 Man City

Manchester City have conceded the game's opening goal on 12 occasions in the Premier League this season, already the joint-most in a single campaign under Pep Guardiola.

Much to the Spaniard's relief, they won't be adding to that record tonight.

I don't feel you'd have predicted this game to be a classic. And you'd be right not to have.

Well he's had a couple of chances already but Erling Haaland can't miss from there.

It's lovely play from Manchester City down the flanks and Jeremy Doku squares across for the Norwegian who taps home.

There was a quick VAR check for offside but quickly cleared.

  12. GREAT SAVE!published at 19:42 Greenwich Mean Time 26 February

    Manchester United 0-1 Ipswich Town

Manchester United have a chance to get a quick equaliser but goalkeeper Alex Palmer, who has been in fine form since a move worth a reported £5m from West Brom on transfer deadline day, flings himself to his left to push out Harry Maguire's powerful header following a corner.

Andrew Mitchell: What on earth happened there? The ball was travelling for an age. Can only assume there wasn’t a shout from the keeper, but even so, Dorgu had all time in the world to take a glance and see where Onana was.

Patrick Dorgu has not once put his head up.

I don't know where Andre Onana is going. It is a shambles.

    That was abysmal.

    We are talking basic communication.

Andre Onana can see the whole pitch ahead of him. He has to either scream at Patrick Dorgu to get out of the way so he can clear it, or back off.

I cannot begin to imagine what Ruben Amorim is thinking.

That was Ipswich's first goal at Old Trafford since Chris Kiwomya gave them the lead all the way back in a Premier League game in 22 August, 1992.

Ipswich's advantage only lasted one minute on that occasion before it ended 1-1.
