Cheltenham City beat Bradford CIty to reach FA Cup second round
Isaac Hutchinson's early header sent League Two Cheltenham into the FA Cup second round with a battling win over League One high-flyers Bradford.
The Bristol Rovers loanee met Luke Young's free-kick in the second minute and his looping header beat Sam Walker to give the Robins the perfect start.
The Bantams responded well and almost levelled when Tyreik Wright's low effort was kept out by the legs of goalkeeper Joe Day.
Tommy Leigh fired wide from a promising position shortly afterwards, before Andy Cook saw a shot deflected over the crossbar as Bradford pressed for an equaliser.
Day denied Wright again midway through the first half after neat play from George Lapslie, while at the other end Jake Bickerstaff went close for Cheltenham six minutes before the break.
Cook's header was parried by the inspired Day soon after the restart as Bradford continued to push, but the hosts stood firm.
Hutchinson drew a save from Walker just after the hour, yet most of the action was at the other end as Cheltenham were forced to defend deep.
A series of late blocks and clearances preserved their narrow lead and secured a cup upset, continuing their revival under boss Steve Cotterill.
