Everyone on the Luton side has played well, we've defended from the front, which I really like.

Other than a second goal it couldn't have been a whole lot better for us.

An umpteenth Craig Forsyth long throw from the left wins Derby a corner - their first of the game after 43 minutes.

They take it short to Kayden Jackson but after a spot of head-tennis in the middle from his cross, Jerry Yates can't get a shot off at the far post and the Luton defence are able to hack clear from almost underneath their own crossbar.

Jerry Yates is all over the place, in a good way, chasing back, holding up play, and trying to be a fox in the box.

Yates is just outmuscled in the box by Amari Bell as he tries to get on the end of a ball from Marcus Harness but despite appeals for a spot-kick from the home fans as the ball rolls through to Thomas Kaminski, Yates doesn't look convinced himself.

Derby really need to up their game because if Luton get that second goal, it's going to be a really big ask for us to get back into this.

Some slick passing from Luton, on an unhelpful surface, spreading it from right-back to left wing and eventually ending with Jordan Clark winning a corner on the right of the Derby box.

Clark's corner is half-cleared but his follow-up cross is nodded just over the bar at the far post under immense pressure by Mark McGuinness.

Skipper Carlton Morris then picks up a silly booking by getting in the way of Josh Vickers as he tries to take a quick goal-kick. Long time on a caution in a game like this when you're as all-action as Morris is.

Wonderful old-school up-and-under clearance from Craig Forsyth, which went higher than it did far...

It really wouldn't have looked out of place when these two clubs were going at it on plastic pitches all those years ago.

The fractured nature of this game will certainly suit Luton the better at present.

This is a fantastic performance from Luton.

Calm, composed control from the Hatters, the nerves have dropped completely.

If Derby equalise, of course, nerves will start to jangle, but up to this point it's been excellent from us, and Derby have started poorly.

Marcus Harness wastes a deep free-kick for Derby, hitting it too hard and making it an easy claim for Thomas Kaminski without a Rams player within 10 yards of him in the Hatters box.

Home fans a little restless. Perhaps understandably.

Thelo Aasgaard nips inbetween two Derby defenders on the left and crashes to turf over the dangling leg of Sondre Langas, who picks up a yellow card for his trouble.

Dangerous position for a free-kick but Marcus Harness glances the ball out of his area high and wide of his own goal.

Jordan Clark's subsequent corner causes another scramble but Carlton Morris eventually lays off to Chris Makosso who can only curl into the side-netting, sending the away fans into momentary rapture before they return to earth with the jeers of the home fans.

Howls of derision from Rams fans as Luton clear another Craig Forsyth throw before Harrison Armstrong passes back 50 yards to keeper Josh Vickers.

Derby look frail and fragile defensively.

Luton are causing all sorts of problems for that Derby back line. They really can't seem to handle Carlton Morris.

Craig Forsyth is the latest to showcase his long throw credentials from the Derby left but the Hatters defence clear again and win a free-kick in midfield to alleviate the pressure.

Thomas Kaminski launches the ball into the mixer from deep, Carlton Morris somehow traps the ball which breaks back to Lamine Fanne who can only steer over the bar from near the penalty spot.

He wants a corner, and should have had one, but he spurns a good sight of goal either way.

Derby look nervous at the back, I have to say...

Christ Makosso lines up a long throw for the visitors but opts to take it short to Kai Naismith, whose looping cross to the back post is met by Thelo Aasgaard who can only nod tamely to Josh Vickers when a ball back across goal seemed the way to go.

Big Matt Clarke is many things, but an overlapping left-winger he is not...

Jordan Clark shepherds the ball out of play to prevent the big defender from getting in behind along the byeline.

Luton will be very keen to take any sting out of this game, now they have the lead... just as John Eustace probably would if the roles were reversed.

All gone pretty quiet at Pride Park, bar one bright orange corner...

Derby have fallen behind 23 times in the Championship this season, and the fans will probably be well aware of the fact they haven't come back to win once.

The home fans are also less than enamoured with ref James Linington after feeling a couple of 50-50s have gone against them.

That early Hatters goal has them level with Derby in the as-it-stands table...

Another blow for Derby as Nathaniel Mendez-Laing is going to be replaced after a bright start marauding down the Rams left.

He limps off to be replaced by Kayden Jackson - who put Derby ahead at Kenilworth Road on 20 December. That was his last goal...

The bad news for Derby, other than the fact they are behind so early, is they have not come from behind to win a game all season.

Today would be a good time to change that, if you're John Eustace...

That's a massive goal for Luton, absolutely huge for the Hatters.
