An hour to go on this live, I wonder if John's message will get through.

We'll finish up with some more Celtic and Merseyside derby chat.

Erm, John's friend, John's ETA is now 19:00 GMT, but he will be bringing lemonade.

Also, who is so glued to our live texts that they're unable to read the notifications on their phone?

I mean, we're good as writers, but not that good.

  4. When did Celtic last reach the last 16?published at 14:51 Greenwich Mean Time 12 February

It has been over a decade since Celtic were part of the Champions League last 16 stage - the 2012-13 season to be precise.

A double over Spartak Moscow, a draw with Benfica and a memorable 2-1 victory over Barcelona at Celtic Park was enough to see them progress through the group stages.

They eventually went on to lose 5-0 on aggregate to Italian side Juventus in the last 16 - but what they'd give to make it there once more.

With that view I wonder if Craig realises that this fixture didn’t actually get played back in December?!

  6. Celtic's quiet 'machine' Maeda key to toppling Bayernpublished at 14:46 Greenwich Mean Time 12 February

Celtic v Bayern Munich (20:00 GMT)

A quick scan of Celtic forward Daizen Maeda's social media accounts tells you two things abut him. He loves football. And he loves his family. That's it.

His endearingly short interviews in English, and even his native Japanese, give the impression he is a quiet, understated man.

His compatriot Kyogo Furuhashi often took the headlines at Celtic, before his departure last month for Rennes, due his knack of scoring big goals, and lots of them.

But coaches have described Maeda as a "machine" and a "physical beast" for his seemingly unlimited stamina, and now he is having the best season of his Celtic career, scoring 21 goals so far.

There is a reason the news he can now play against Bayern Munich, after his two-game ban was reduced on appeal, was greeted with unbridled joy among Celtic fans.

Maeda's presence increases their chances of toppling the German giants in the Champions League, no matter how small people think those chances are.

Remember a few years back that guy who was caught doing his homework at the Emirates. He went viral, which makes it even more hilarious given we were at school together! Obviously became a school legend overnight, but couldn’t go anywhere without people asking him to do their homework for them.

  9. 'The atmosphere may just carry Celtic to victory'published at 14:36 Greenwich Mean Time 12 February

Celtic v Bayern Munich (20:00 GMT)

    Chris Sutton
Former Celtic striker on 5 Live Breakfast

Because of their domestic dominance, I think that the Celtic supporters were looking at the team and the barometer of progress was always going to be in the Champions League and getting out of the group stage and into the playoffs - it is absolutely massive for Brendan Rodgers.

It's a massive game for Celtic. And look, the expectation is on Bayern Munich. Their expectation will be to go on in the competition.

Of course, that was never Celtic's expectation. It was about getting out of the group stage. But they are here. They can give it a go. And it's about staying in the tie, making sure when Celtic do go over to Munich that they've still got something to play for. And you just don't know.

Bayern Munich have lost three away games in the competition so far this season but they still are a formidable opposition. Celtic will have their work cut out, but you don't know. The atmosphere may just carry Celtic to victory tonight. You feel that it has to happen for Celtic at Celtic Park, really. It'll be difficult going over to the Allianz.

I remember watching Ian St John score a hat trick on his debut for Liverpool in the summer of 1961, in the old Liverpool Senior Cup, but Everton won 4-3! It was a good consolation even though we (LFC) lost that game. In the 60s lots of us watched games at both grounds when we couldn't afford to travel to away games by bus or train. All changed now!!

Celtic v Bayern Munich (20:00 GMT)

Bayern Munich manager Vincent Kompany says there is no risk of complacency when the Bundesliga leaders take on Celtic in Glasgow.

The sides face off in the first leg of their Champions League play-off before the return leg in Munich next week.

Six-time champions Bayern are eight points clear in their domestic league and have won their past four outings in all competitions.

Despite that recent run, Kompany is wary coming to "fortress" Celtic Park.

"Both clubs stand very high in the tradition of the Champions League because of the achievements of the past," Kompany said.

"For myself, and I imagine it's the same for Brendan, we're all here for the next piece of history.

"Anyone that has a deeper understanding of football would understand the home record of Celtic in this competition. It's not just recent. Throughout my career, I don't remember Celtic losing at home in Europe. It is a fortress. We give it the respect it deserves.

"We also have a team geared to look forward to big games. There's nobody from our side that will treat this any different to any other top game."
