Portsmouth fans are ironically chanting "you're getting sacked in the morning" at Coventry boss Frank Lampard.

The Sky Blues head coach enjoyed every single one of his six trips to Fratton Park in his playing days, winning on each occasion.

Lampard also won all 16 of his games against Pompey as a player.

Don't think he'll be on the winning side today.

  2. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 13:47 Greenwich Mean Time 21 December 2024

    Sheff Wed 1-0 Stoke

Stoke boss Narcis Pelach has seen enough.

Bae Jun-Ho is on for Michael Rose as the Potters bring on a forward for a defender.

  3. 'Incredible goal'published at 13:46 Greenwich Mean Time 21 December 2024

    Portsmouth 4-1 Coventry

    Guy Whittingham
Former Portsmouth manager on BBC Radio Solent

    That's an incredible goal!

It's a great save from the keeper first, Lang follows it up and taps in for his fourth. He wasn't going to turn that one down.

We certainly didn't see that coming after 10 minutes.

    Sheff Wed 1-0 Stoke

Great save by James Beadle in the Owls goal.

A ball is sent in from the right and Tom Cannon looks to all the world like he will score but the Brighton loanee keeps out his initial header and then manages to paw away the loose ball.

The Potters think there's a shout for a penalty as a couple of players come together afterwards.

    Sheff Wed 1-0 Stoke

    Stoke win a free-kick 25 yards out.

Tom Cannon sends a weak low effort straight at James Beadle.

Not sure if he was hoping it would take a deflection or a team-mate might get on it or he just mis-hit it but in any case it comes to nought.

    Callum Lang (55 mins)

    Wow. Callum Lang has FOUR!

Colby Bishop directs an effort on target from Connor Ogilvie's cross and Coventry keeper Brad Collins does well to push the ball into the air.

It comes back down towards the goal and Collins can only claw it out into the path of the onrushing Lang who hammers home into the empty net from close-range.

  7. Postpublished at 13:42 Greenwich Mean Time 21 December 2024

    Hull City 1-1 Swansea City

If the score stays as it is, Hull are still on track to move off the bottom of the table, at least temporarily before Plymouth play Middlesbrough later.

But Ruben Selles' side will see this as a massive missed opportunity given the chances they squandered in the first half.

Joao Pedro receives the ball at his feet high up the pitch, but the Tigers striker doesn't assert himself on the ball, and Swansea defenders swarm in to clear the danger.

Portsmouth are out of the bottom three and up to 20th as things stand.

They won't be bottom of the Championship for Christmas if it stays like this, that's for sure.

John Mousinho might even be able to celebrate the festivities from a nice vantage point outside the relegation zone should all go to plan from here on in.

  9. goal

GOAL: Sheff Wed 1-0 Stokepublished at 13:39 Greenwich Mean Time 21 December 2024

    Josh Windass

    The 10 men lead!

Barry Bannan plays a lovely weighted ball in behind the Stoke defence and Yan Valery's cross into the near post is bundled in by Josh Windass.

What have the Potters got in response?

  10. 'They look shell-shocked'published at 13:39 Greenwich Mean Time 21 December 2024

    Portsmouth 3-1 Coventry

    Steve Ogrizovic
Ex-Coventry City goalkeeper on BBC CWR

    It's an uphill battle now.

Just a bog standard corner, Milan Van Ewijk doesn't deal with it, Brad Collins is caught in two minds and its such a soft, soft goal to concede.

They look shell-shocked defensively, Collins goes to punch, misses it and the goal is left vacant.

    Lang now has his hat-trick.

  11. Postpublished at 13:38 Greenwich Mean Time 21 December 2024

    Sheff Wed 0-0 Stoke

Stoke win a couple of corners in quick succession.

Tatsuki Seko curls the second one of them straight behind. A waste.

  12. Postpublished at 13:36 Greenwich Mean Time 21 December 2024

    Sheff Wed 0-0 Stoke

A win for the visitors against the 10-man hosts will make a big change to their league standing and the mood in the Potteries over Christmas.

They host promotion-chasing Leeds on Boxing Day.

  13. goal

    Callum Lang (48 mins)

This could be a big goal for Portsmouth!

Freddie Potts floats in a corner from the left and Callum Lang is unmarked about six yards out and he glances a header into the far corner.

A hat-trick for Lang and an incredible turnaround in this game by Pompey.

  14. Postpublished at 13:34 Greenwich Mean Time 21 December 2024

    Portsmouth 2-1 Coventry

Off and running again on the south coast.

The last time Portsmouth and Coventry met at Fratton Park, it ended in a 3-3 draw in League One in August 2019.

That first half had all the same hallmarks of a thriller. Will we see more goals in this second period?

  15. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 13:33 Greenwich Mean Time 21 December 2024

    Sheff Wed 0-0 Stoke

Back under way at Hillsborough and the 10 men hosts have made a change at the break.

Defender Gabriel Otegbayo is on for striker Michael Smith.

  16. HALF-TIMEpublished at 13:19 Greenwich Mean Time 21 December 2024

    Hull City 1-1 Swansea City

Hull City have shown great attacking intent in this first 45 minutes and would be worthy of a half-time lead after Joao Pedro's deflected strike put them 1-0 ahead.

But a brilliant header from Swansea defender Harry Darling pulled his team level for an otherwise toothless visiting side.

Gustavo Puerta and Regan Slater both squandered excellent chances for Hull and there is no doubt that head coach Ruben Selles will be frustrated that they couldn't go further in front.

    Portsmouth 2-1 Coventry

What a game this has been so far.

Coventry came flying out the traps and took the lead inside three minutes after Ephron Mason-Clark crossed to the back-post for Norman Bassette to tap in.

Callum Lang drew Portsmouth level 10 minutes later with a strike from the edge of the box that crept in at the near post.

And then just before the interval, Lang rifled into the top corner to give Pompey the lead.

Catch your breath if you can for 15 minutes.

  18. HALF-TIMEpublished at 13:17 Greenwich Mean Time 21 December 2024

    Sheff Wed 0-0 Stoke

Level on the scoreboard but not on the pitch.

Di'Shon Bernard was sent off a few minutes before the break for the home side for a second bookable offence.

That aside there really hasn't been very much at all in this game being played in very windy conditions.

Stoke will look to press on after the break.

  19. 'Such a preventable goal'published at 13:16 Greenwich Mean Time 21 December 2024

    Portsmouth 2-1 Coventry

    Steve Ogrizovic
Ex-Coventry City goalkeeper on BBC CWR

A fantastic finish from Callum Lang.

Jay Dasilva caught out again, Lang has had a touch and he's still got a lot to do to score from there but he won't hit a ball sweeter than that in his life, and we've turned a 1-0 lead into a 2-1 deficit.

A long ball over Dasilva, such a preventable goal.

  20. Postpublished at 13:15 Greenwich Mean Time 21 December 2024

The Potters have their first real decent chance as a corner is cleared to Wouter Burger 10 or so yards out but his shot is charged down.

Can the away side capitalise on the home side being a man down?
