    Portsmouth 1-1 Coventry

Coventry's Jack Rudoni races through and Portsmouth keeper Nicolas Schmid comes out to challenge at his feet and takes the ball well.

He had to get that one right or it was a nailed on penalty.

Portsmouth celebrate; Coventry look dejectedImage source, PA Media

It looked like Coventry were going to run away with this in the first 10 minutes. It's been the complete opposite since Portsmouth equalised, though.

The hosts on top right now. But as this game has already shown us, it could swing at any moment.

  3. Postpublished at 12:53 Greenwich Mean Time 21 December 2024

    Sheff Wed 0-0 Stoke

The home side win the first corner of the game as Michael Rose heads over his own bar.

Shea Charles sends in an outswinger from the right that Michael Smith manages to hook towards goal from 12 yards out but straight at Viktor Johansson in the Potters goal.

  4. Postpublished at 12:52 Greenwich Mean Time 21 December 2024

    Portsmouth 1-1 Coventry

Another corner from the right for Pompey and Coventry keeper Brad Collins comes out and opts to punch clear again.

This time it runs out to the left but the visitors give away a needless free-kick on the touchline.

  5. Postpublished at 12:50 Greenwich Mean Time 21 December 2024

    Sheff Wed 0-0 Stoke

Lewis Koumas gets in behind the home defence but the flag's up as he slices his effort wide.

Just as well he didn't score because replays show he was very clearly onside.

  6. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 12:50 Greenwich Mean Time 21 December 2024

    Portsmouth 1-1 Coventry

Crikey. Coventry are almost in front again but Ephron Mason-Clark has rattled the goal frame.

He cuts inside from the left onto his right foot and cracks one towards the near post and it smashes into the upright.

    This is entertaining.

  7. CLOSE!published at 12:49 Greenwich Mean Time 21 December 2024

    Hull City 0-0 Swansea City

    Oh, Regan Slater!

That really should have been the opening goal for Hull City.

Another pacey ball comes in from the left from Ryan Giles and this time it looks perfect for Slater to tap in, but he can't sort his feet out in time and pokes it wide from seven yards.

  8. Postpublished at 12:48 Greenwich Mean Time 21 December 2024

    Portsmouth 1-1 Coventry

The crowd are up at Fratton Park and this game has got a manic feel about it now.

A good old Championship ding dong for Christmas. Lovely.

  9. 'You'd rip someone's arm off for one all'published at 12:47 Greenwich Mean Time 21 December 2024

    Portsmouth 1-1 Coventry

    Guy Whittingham
Former Portsmouth manager on BBC Radio Solent

Based on the balance of play you'd rip someone's arm off for 1-1.

Colby Bishop gives the defender a little nudge and Lang fires it in. Brad Collins won't want to watch that back.

  10. Postpublished at 12:47 Greenwich Mean Time 21 December 2024

    Hull City 0-0 Swansea City

Swansea are playing a patient possession game, but Hull are attacking with urgency whenever they can win the ball back and break forward.

Midfielder Gustavo Puerta lifts in a curling cross from a deep position on the left, but Abu Kamara sends his header wide.

    Callum Lang (14 mins)

    Portsmouth hit back!

A corner comes in and Coventry keeper Brad Collins chooses to punch clear.

Colby Bishop does well to keep it alive for Pompey and lays it back to Callum Lang on the edge of the box who fires an effort towards goal and it sneaks in at the near post.

Collins won't be happy he's let that in at his front stick but a sixth goal of the season for Portsmouth's top scorer and we're all square again.

  12. Postpublished at 12:43 Greenwich Mean Time 21 December 2024

    Sheff Wed 0-0 Stoke

First real opportunity of the day goes to the home side.

Josh Windass has a dip from outside the area and Viktor Johansson has to be on his toes to just palm it down and gather at the second attempt.

Good work again from Bassette, a lovely ball over to Rudoni and it bounces up really well, he's got to hit it with his right foot there.

If Portsmouth play like this though, we're going to get plenty of chances.

  14. Postpublished at 12:42 Greenwich Mean Time 21 December 2024

    Sheff Wed 0-0 Stoke

Eesh, Owls keeper James Beadle comes right out of his area to deal with a long ball.

The Brighton loanee brings it down with a neat first touch and... slices it straight out of play.

  15. Postpublished at 12:42 Greenwich Mean Time 21 December 2024

    Hull City 0-0 Swansea City

Hull have only taken one point from their last eight league games, but they are starting to find their feet here.

Defender Ryan Giles fires in a dangerous low cross from the left, but it is behind everyone waiting for the delivery.

  16. Postpublished at 12:42 Greenwich Mean Time 21 December 2024

    Portsmouth 0-1 Coventry

Coventry work another opening and Jack Rudoni finds space in the area after Norman Bassete's cross from the left.

He could have hit it first time but opts to take a touch and the moment gets away from him.

  17. Postpublished at 12:39 Greenwich Mean Time 21 December 2024

    Portsmouth 0-1 Coventry

Portsmouth have now conceded 10 goals inside the opening 15 minutes of games this season after that opener from Norman Bassette for Coventry.

Not ideal. And it should have been two for Bassette moments ago.

  18. Postpublished at 12:39 Greenwich Mean Time 21 December 2024

    Sheff Wed 0-0 Stoke

Sheffield Wednesday appeal for a penalty as Shea Charles tries to get on to the end of Marvin Johnson's ball in from the left.

The referee's not interested and rightly so.

  19. 'Bassette taps in"published at 12:37 Greenwich Mean Time 21 December 2024

Norman Bassette celebrates scoring for Coventry against PortsmouthImage source, PA Media

I couldn't be more pleased for Norman Bassette.

It was a counter, and it was all about Mason-Clark picked it up, danced round the defender, and there was Bassette to tap it in from three yards!

  20. CLOSE!published at 12:37 Greenwich Mean Time 21 December 2024

    Portsmouth 0-1 Coventry

Coventry should be two up inside five minutes.

A long ball over the top comes to goalscorer Norman Bassette and he's clean through.

He takes it to the edge of the box but hits tamely straight at Nicolas Schmid. You could say good save. I'd lean more towards poor finish.

    Pompey are creaking.
