  1. goal

GOAL: Hull City 1-1 Swansea Citypublished at 13:13 Greenwich Mean Time 21 December 2024

    Harry Darling (41 mins)

Out of nowhere, Swansea are level.

Harry Darling has their first headed goal of the Championship season after meeting Josh Tymon's delivery from deep and towering above Hull's defence.

Swans manager Luke Williams was prowling about the touchline with his arms folded a moment ago, but he will be happier now.

  2. goal

GOAL: Portsmouth 2-1 Coventrypublished at 13:13 Greenwich Mean Time 21 December 2024

    Callum Lang (43 mins)

Portsmouth celebrate Callum Lang's second goal against CoventryImage source, PA Media

Portsmouth take the lead and it's that man Callum Lang again!

A long ball is floated out wide towards Lang and Coventry left-back Jay Dasilva makes a bit of a mess with his header, nodding it inside.

But there's still so much to do for Lang who drives into the box and rifles a thunderous effort into the top bins.

Great finish, goal number seven of the season for Lang and Pompey have come from behind to get their noses in front.

  3. RED CARD: Di'Shon Bernard (Sheff Wed)published at 13:12 Greenwich Mean Time 21 December 2024

    Sheff Wed 0-0 Stoke

    I said it was scrappy.

Di'Shon Bernard, booked a few minutes ago for a foul after miscontrolling the ball does basically the exact same thing again and is sent off.

The Owls will have to play the whole of the second period a man light.

  4. Postpublished at 13:12 Greenwich Mean Time 21 December 2024

    Sheff Wed 0-0 Stoke

Both teams are really struggling to move the ball with any cohesion in these windy conditions.

I'll generously say it's been scrappy.

    Five minutes until the break.

  5. CLOSE!published at 13:11 Greenwich Mean Time 21 December 2024

    Portsmouth 1-1 Coventry

At the other end, Norman Bassette almost puts Coventry in front.

The forward gets in behind but sees his shot blocked. There's a bit of a goalmouth scramble before Connor Ogilvie is able to shovel it behind for a corner.

The visitors can't make anything of the set-piece.

  6. CLOSE!published at 13:10 Greenwich Mean Time 21 December 2024

    Portsmouth 1-1 Coventry

Connor Ogilvie almost puts Portsmouth ahead but his shot is straight at the keeper!

It's a difficult chance as it comes all the way to the back post from a free-kick and Ogilvie hits it on the half-volley but it's saved by Sky Blues stopper Brad Collins.

If that was either side of the keeper...

  7. YELLOW CARDpublished at 13:09 Greenwich Mean Time 21 December 2024

    Sheff Wed 0-0 Stoke

There's a real coming together of players as Owls wing-back Marvin Johnson is bundled down by Andrew Moran.

Lewis Koumas sprints in to defend Moran and is booked for his troubles.

  8. CLOSE!published at 13:08 Greenwich Mean Time 21 December 2024

    Hull City 1-0 Swansea City

It should be 2-0 after chaos in the Swansea box.

The best chance fell for Hull midfielder Gustavo Puerta, who sees his shot crash into team-mate Ryan Longman just in front of the goal.

Hull have shown their intent from the beginning and need to make spells like this count.

  9. YELLOW CARDpublished at 13:08 Greenwich Mean Time 21 December 2024

    Sheff Wed 0-0 Stoke

Wednesday midfielder Shea Charles is booked for pushing Tatsuki Seko over... twice.

  10. Postpublished at 13:06 Greenwich Mean Time 21 December 2024

    Portsmouth 1-1 Coventry

Norman Bassette and Marlon Pack battle for the ballImage source, PA Media

Coventry striker Norman Bassette trying to get his own-back on Marlon Pack? He tugs back the Pompey defender on halfway... but evades a yellow, unlike his counterpart just moments ago.

  11. goal

GOAL: Hull City 1-0 Swansea Citypublished at 13:05 Greenwich Mean Time 21 December 2024

    Joao Pedro (33 mins)

    Hull deserve this.

A calm forward pass from midfielder Steven Alzate finds Joao Pedro on the left, he takes a touch and fires the ball low.

It takes a deflection off a defender and beats Swansea keeper Lawrence Vigoroux at his near post.

  12. YELLOW CARDpublished at 13:04 Greenwich Mean Time 21 December 2024

    Portsmouth 1-1 Coventry

Makeshift Portsmouth centre-back Marlon Pack has earnt himself a yellow card.

Coventry's Jack Rudoni tries to spin him on halfway but Pack - who is usually a midfielder - pulls him to the ground.

  13. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 13:04 Greenwich Mean Time 21 December 2024

    Hull City 0-0 Swansea City

    That could have gone anywhere!

Hull midfielder Gustavo Puerta smacks the post with a vicious half-volley after showing great composure to flick the ball past a defender.

Swansea keeper Lawrence Vigoroux is then very grateful to get a touch on the ball to claw it to safety.

  14. YELLOW CARDpublished at 13:03 Greenwich Mean Time 21 December 2024

    Sheff Wed 0-0 Stoke

    Oooft.

Sheffield Wednesday defender Di'Shon Bernard takes a really poor touch and then drags down Tom Cannon as he snatches it up.

The referee decides it was far enough from goal that a yellow card will suffice.

    Stoke players disagree.

  15. Postpublished at 13:02 Greenwich Mean Time 21 December 2024

    Portsmouth 1-1 Coventry

The bells are ringing at Fratton Park both in a literal and metaphorical sense so far today.

Pompey's infamous sound is plain to hear from the stands and both sides have faced spells of danger in their own penalty boxes.

And it's Christmas time... all very apt.

  16. Postpublished at 13:01 Greenwich Mean Time 21 December 2024

    Sheff Wed 0-0 Stoke

The home side get in down the left but Marvin Johnson doesn't get the cross into the box right and the visitors clear for a corner.

The Owls are having the better of it but Viktor Johansson in the Potters goal hasn't really been worked yet.

    Sheff Wed 0-0 Stoke

Heading towards the half-hour mark at Hillsborough and... it's been largely uneventful thus far I have to say.

  18. 'Bassette is so quick'published at 12:58 Greenwich Mean Time 21 December 2024

    Portsmouth 1-1 Coventry

    Andy Moon
    BBC Radio Solent commentator

Bassette is so quick and he's causing problems for Pompey's centre-halves.

Ryley Towler is dropping deep, he looks almost scared of Bassette.

  19. CLOSE!published at 12:57 Greenwich Mean Time 21 December 2024

    Portsmouth 1-1 Coventry

Now the pendulum swings back in Coventry's favour for a moment...

Norman Bassette cuts inside from the right and hits an effort into the side-netting.

It wasn't far wide of the near post, mind.

  20. Postpublished at 12:57 Greenwich Mean Time 21 December 2024

    Hull City 0-0 Swansea City

After a sustained spell of pressure for Hull, a miscommunication in the Tigers midfield allows Swansea to create a couple of chances.

Myles Peart-Harris chips in an inviting cross towards the far post, but the hosts head away both that and the subsequent corner.

Josh Tymon then whips in a ball with too much pace that goes straight to Hull keeper Ivor Pandur.
