It has been a pleasant watch. The goals that Everton have got has made it a really good game. You don't know which way this is going to go.

Everton are very workmen-like and they have won the ball, on the turnover of possession they have been good.

  2. 'Better touch' needed from Rogerspublished at 18:17 British Summer Time 14 September

    Aston Villa 1-2 Everton

    Jamie Carragher

With a better touch from Morgan Rogers, Aston Villa could have gone in 2-2 at half-time.

Ooooh. That's a brilliant spot by Youri Tielemans and lovely ball for the advancing Morgan Rogers, who scored twice for England u-21's against Austria in midweek. But he can't get it under control for a meaningful effort.

    Aston Villa 1-2 Everton

That is Ollie Watkins' 60th Premier League goal for Aston Villa. He moves joint-second with Dwight Yorke in terms of PL goals for the Villans (60), behind only Gabriel Agbonlahor (74).

I said there was a long way to go in this game, there certainly is now for those Evertonian's and Sean Dyche on the bench.

The goal is at that back post. Ollie Watkins just gets higher than Michael Keane and muscles him out of the way.

Jordan Pickford is stranded at his near post.

Nothing better than seeing a centre-forward doing that at the back post. That goal will do Watkins the world of good.

  7. 'Keane has to do better'published at 18:10 British Summer Time 14 September

    Aston Villa 1-2 Everton

    Paul Robinson
Former England goalkeeper on BBC Radio 5 Live

A well worked move by Villa recycling the ball in midfield. Lucas Digne in acres of space, he has a great first touch setting himself up for the cross.

Michael Keane has to do better and Watkins gets over the centre-half - Watkins heads it off Keane into the net. Nothing Pickford could've done.

Villa believe they are back in this game.

Surely not again for Everton. Just over five minutes to go until half time.

Lucas Digne once again is in decent space on the left-hand side and he chips a ball to the back post where Ollie Watkins beats Michael Keane to the header.

That's the England striker's first goal of the season.

Morgan Rogers is looking up for this and works his side a couple of opportunities.

His second, a low drive with his left foot, forces Jordan Pickford into a good save.

  15. 'Two pieces of quality from Everton'published at 18:01 British Summer Time 14 September

    Aston Villa 0-2 Everton

    Jamie Carragher
Former Liverpool defender on Sky Sports

It's a great ball in but it was really tight.

Youri Tielemans' left foot plays him on.

From where Dominic Calvert-Lewin put it in, again I would be asking questions of my goalkeeper.

Two pieces of quality from Everton. They have been here before and there is still a long way to go in this game.

  16. 'Everton have been brilliant'published at 18:01 British Summer Time 14 September

    Such a simple free-kick.

Don't go anywhere, this one has definitely not finished.

Everton have been brilliant the way they've absorbed the pressure, they have ventured into Villa's half twice and got themselves two goals.

  17. Postpublished at 30 mins

    Aston Villa 0-2 Everton

As much as it looks like this could be Everton's moment to get up and running. And I don't want to be the bearer of bad news...

A reminder that Everton were 2-0 up after 57 minutes against Bournemouth at Goodison Park and ended up losing 3-2.

    This is incredible.

A team so bereft of confidence and without a point this season are taking Aston Villa apart.

Everton fans have to wait to celebrate, but they do so wildly once VAR gives it the green light.

    He is! The goal stands.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin has his second goal of the season and Everton are off to a brilliant start at Villa Park.

Dwight McNeil whips in a brilliant free-kick and Dominic Calvert-Lewin holds off his man to leap highest and nod into the back of the net.

    Is he onside, though?
