    Slovan Bratislava 0-2 Manchester City

The hosts are going to have to triple up on Jeremy Doku. He is destroying the Slovan defence, this time Kenan Bajric is the man who can't deal with him. Doku fires in a low cross and Erling Haaland can't get a touch and it would've been a certain goal if he had done.

Haaland will be furious if he doesn't score tonight against opponents that are being completely overwhelmed and overpowered.

We are just starting to see PSG having more of the ball and gaining more and more territory in the Arsenal half. They are growing in confidence. Arsenal just need to regain a bit of control of the ball.

I cannot fathom the rebuild that PSG have ahead of them, they look so mediocre.

  4. Dortmund double advantagepublished at 20:33 British Summer Time 1 October

    Borussia Dortmund 3-1 Celtic

    Celtic are up against it.

Borussia Dortmund's Karim Adeyemi gets his second, and his side's third, with a thunderous strike that beats out Kasper Schmeichel at the Celtic keeper's near post.

    Arsenal 1-0 Paris St-Germain

Now David Raya comes to Arsenal's rescue with a save which earns PSG a corner. The home side are definitely not having it all their own way.

PSG have had more attempts than the hosts but there's only been one effort on target - and that was the goal.

  6. Arsenal deserved advantagepublished at 20:31 British Summer Time 1 October

    Arsenal 1-0 Paris St. Germain

    Phil McNulty
BBC Sport chief football writer at Emirates Stadium

Kai Havertz was rewarded for being a little quicker to act than PSG keeper Gianluigi Donnarumma and it gives Arsenal a well-merited lead.

Not that this seems to unduly concern the massed ranks of PSG supporters, who have not stopped singing or banging their drums since they came into the stadium. Quite the racket.

The shot against the post from Nuno Mendes just a reminder to Arsenal that much work still needs to be done.

  7. 'A warning from PSG'published at 20:30 British Summer Time 1 October

Arsenal look quite assured when PSG get the ball, especially with PSG not having anyone as a nominated striker. Nuno Mendes just plays a one-two with Bradley Barcola and fires a shot at goal. David raya was left scrambling towards the ball but he was not going to get there. A warning from PSG there.

  8. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 20:30 British Summer Time 1 October

    Arsenal 1-0 Paris St-Germain

    Oh wow!

Bukayo Saka cannot stop Nuno Mendes who is marauding forward and unleashes a terrific shot which hits the base of the post and spins away.

That was close! David Raya flung himself across his line to try and get to that but was beaten by the power and pace of the shot.

  9. Postpublished at 20:29 British Summer Time 1 October

    Slovan Bratislava 0-2 Manchester City

Matheus Nunes is the next to shoot at Slovan Bratislava, but over and ugly. It's nothing more than a training exercise at the moment for City, Slovan Bratislava just don't know what to do and are chasing shadows. It's like a non-league team in the third round of the FA Cup.

City as dominant as can be. Two-nil, it should be at least four.

  10. HITS THE WOODWORK - Foden (Manchester City)published at 20:28 British Summer Time 1 October

    Slovan Bratislava 0-2 Manchester City

Two goals and now two off the woodwork. Phil Foden has already scored one and again gets the ball on the left foot. His strike is only parried by Dominik Takac, who gets two hands to it and is very, very lucky to see the ball bounce off the right post. He kept it out, just about. He is probably going to concede again soon though.

  11. HITS THE WOODWORK - Doku (Manchester City)published at 20:25 British Summer Time 1 October

    Slovan Bratislava 0-2 Manchester City

Jeremy Doku is having so much fun and Slovan Bratislava don't have a clue in how to stop him. He sets up Rico Lewis, whose shot is flapped at by Dominik Takac, who pats the ball down but gets away with it.

City go again and Doku, on the right wing, cuts inside on to his left-foot and curls a great strike at goal, but the ball bounces off the joint of post and bar.

    Arsenal 1-0 Paris St-Germain

Since the start of February 2024, only three Premier League players have more goals and assists combined in all competitions than Kai Havertz (14 goals, 7 assists).

  13. PSV lead against Sportingpublished at 20:24 British Summer Time 1 October

    PSV 1-0 Sporting

Jerdy Schouten opens the scoring for PSV with his first European goal.

Sloppy defending from Sporting, Schouten intercepts the pass and then lets fly from the edge of the box with his effort crashing in off the post.

Arsenal are so unpredictable now with 2 full-backs that can defend and get forward. This would be a statement win tonight.

  15. Postpublished at 20:24 British Summer Time 1 October

    Arsenal 1-0 Paris St-Germain

Lift-off at the Emirates thanks to Kai Havertz, who netted the winner in the 2021 final for Chelsea against Manchester City.

How will PSG respond? Arsenal have been bright and breezy. PSG not so much.

  16. Postpublished at 20:23 British Summer Time 1 October

    Slovan Bratislava 0-2 Manchester City

This is the earliest Manchester City have led by two goals in a Champions League away game (15th minute) since September 2017 against Feyenoord (10th minute).

Phil Foden has moved into joint-fifth for most Champions League goals for Man City with 16 (behind Sergio Aguero 36, Raheem Sterling 24, Gabriel Jesus 20 and Erling Haaland 18).

  17. 'Brave header from Havertz'published at 20:22 British Summer Time 1 October

It's an outstanding bit of play from Leandro Trossard and a very brave header from Kai Havertz at the end of it. Arsenal's two best players so far, they are both coming off the front and dipping into wide areas making it so hard for them to be marked.

Havertz ghosts in on the blind side of the defender and Gianluigi Donarumma is unable to get there this time.

Made by Leandro Trossard, finished by Kai Havertz!

Arsenal take the lead after Havertz rises to meet Trossard's wonderful cross into the box.

Gianluigi Donnarumma is off his line to try and claim it but Havertz gets to it first and heads beyond the PSG keeper.

    Arsenal 0-0 Paris St-Germain

    Alex Howell
BBC football news reporter at Emirates Stadium

There's been a real intensity from both of Arsenal's full backs so far.

Riccardo Calafiori has been involved in a couple of attacks and has constantly been getting up and down the left flank and even ended up in the middle of the pitch not far from the edge of PSG penalty area not long ago.

Jurrien Timber has done the same on the other side and has not given Bradley Barcola, the forward he is up against, any room at all.

  20. Postpublished at 20:19 British Summer Time 1 October

    Arsenal 0-0 Paris St-Germain

Kai Havertz and Bukayo Saka are causing all sorts of problems.

They combine again and Havertz fizzes it across the six-yard area but there is no one in read and white to turn it over the line.
